Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Nope. Uncle Lynn had the Mexican buffet, Aunt Cheryl had chicken and fruit salad plate and I had the salad bar. (What Uncle Lynn didn't realize was that Aunt Cheryl and I really pigged out on barbeque at 3 when we found out I didn't have to go home yet.)
Some of my Norwegian cousins were workin' there though. Does that count?

Saw a news story the other day about killer whales getting closer to shore up there than they usually do... was wondering if there are any visible where you're at...?

*waving back at you*
Thank goodness for small blessings!

No way, Jose! Only if I'm HEAVILY sedated and completely unconscience!!!
Why don't you just drag me behind the boat with a chunk of raw meat tied to my leg?

an ounce of unpopped popcorn would be about 11g carbs...I might do it...Unpopped is hard on the teeth.
Just finished watching Road to Rio. Didn't have any popcorn with it, though.

I'm having visions of that scene in Dr. No where the tarantula crawls up Sean Connery! Ever see Arachnophobia ?

Somethin's wrong with Ramius! One of us *wants* to go and he is being stubborn, the other one doesn't want to go and he's trying to force you!

Master Bowman, yer weaponry will be a welcome addition...
that's a very good point... if'n we moot here, we have a rifle/pistol/archery/BB gun range on the premises... we can reload .357, .44 RemMag, .45 ACP, .303 Brit, 7mm RemMag, AND 7.63X39, if'n there's a need...
Bennet Springs State Park and Hatchery is 15 minutes away... great trout fishing on the Niangua...
I know of ponds and lakes where 2J can get her catfish... there's also a great catfish restaurant in town...
there are great water parks in the area...
we're right off'n I-44 which connects St Louis and Tulsa, OK...

The ficus is staying put but I need to get some bigger pots for the peppers. Got my carbaryl now so I'll be killin' some aphids this weekend.
