Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well, an ounce of unpopped popcorn would be about 11g carbs...I might do it...

Jen; MO is only a fairly good long day drive from Colorful Colorado. (you're mostly going across Kansas and it's down hill all the way) :-)

I've never been to Colorado, but I've gone from KC to Oklahoma, and if it's anything comparable it's a very nice drive--lots of flatland without much breaking up the scenery, which I found very relaxing. I guess you'd get some more highland as you get up towards Colorado, though--that'd be nice to see, I bet.

Howdy!

A quarter cup of unpopped popcorn is 2 ounces. ARgh...

I kin have dark chocolate now. I got some unsweetened baking chocolate, melted one square in the microwave with a little butter, sweetened it with Splenda, and dipped some strawberries. Velly tasty.

On the bad news side, a few minutes ago I stubbed my toe so bad it's split open and bleeding. Not sure how I'm gonna sleep tonight without making it worse. Lovely.

I'll eat some almonds and a Diet Riot.

Yeah, Margaret!

I'm watching CSI. I love this show. I always wished I had been a forensics person instead of an RN.

Get a load of this email that Matthew wrote his friend (the brother of the sick little boy)...I think it's a riot.

Hi Jeremy!

The weather sure is hot!

Did you know, the reason you don't see any droidekas (destroyer droids) in the big battle of Attack of the Clones is, the Trade Federation core ships are defenseless and need them.

Well, that's all for now.

Matthew

I actually ran today. OK, so I did a lot of walking, too...but I ran for ten minutes in the middle at a pretty good clip. Just wanted to, for some reason.

But tomorrow I think I'll go back to walking. I don't have a runner's physique...

And I'm forgetting my toe. *sigh* At least I can wear sandals, though it isn't pretty.

What's CSI?

Bilbo and I went to NYC together a few years ago...after MUCH getting lost, we finally got to the hotel and crashed, and being as we don't have cable or get any channels up here, the first thing we did is to start playing with the TV. Ended up watching several forensics programs about murderers who almost didn't get caught and how easy it can be to hide bodies, and about various criminals who would kill strangers and random and hide the evidence...

After that we went to bed and spent quite a while staring at the ceiling and asking one another "Are you awake??" Heh...

I'm not called 2 jedis mom for nuthin! LOL Both boys are just big fans, but especially Matthew.

Today was Joshua's last day of school. He cried. He cried all the way to school and then wouldn't let me take him in until he "got hold of himself". Poor kid. He really loved that preschool. I got his teachers some nice candles.

Fortunately, the teacher that Joshua took spanish from is teaching it for our homeschool co-op next year. I signed him up and she was really thrilled.

*shudder*

I couldn't handle it. It would haunt me.

On the other hand, I miss all the medical shows...used to be some really cool medical series' when I was in Europe, where they would, for example, follow patients at a teaching hospital. I loved those.

The forensic shows are fascinating...but they really, really disturb me.
