I was pregnant five times; three live births.
Only took one picture of me pregnant to send to my mom. Who knows where it is now.
My mom had five of us; only one known picture of her pregnant.
As the kids got older, you can clearly see parts of both Michelle and Obama in their faces.
I don’t recall pregnancy pictures being common prior to social media...the ones I recall seeing were not taken specifically because they were pregnant but just as part of a general family gathering or event where they happened to be pregnant at the time the photos were taken.

I don’t exactly know what you mean by this.
There was a time when a woman’s pregnancy especially those of the wealthy upper classes, was something to be hidden away from “polite society” even that of a married woman. She was expected to hide away during the late stages of her pregnancy and not engage in social gatherings.
Manners is one thing, but it and the definition of it has changed over time.
At one time if a higher-class woman who were pregnant, as soon as she was “showing” she was put away and out of “public” view. But for common and working-class women, they kept working right up util she gave birth and was expected to return to work shortly after.
There was a time when these ridiculous threads would have been immediately deleted by the mods.

No pix of my mother while pg. Of course, we have the family albums so for certain there are none. But then I don’t have any pix showing her with an appendage poking out from her clothes, either.

Thanks for posting these. The “Big Mike” thing is stupid and ultimately self-defeating. It hearkens back to the accusation made against Sojourner Truth by pro-slavery hecklers.
I had a sister Michelle who was called Mike by several friends. She hated the nickname, but it was better than Shelley to her, at least.
I know the two daughters don’t look anyting like each other..
