What makes you think they’re happy? I assume they have issued or will issue the traditional type of statement, that this is an injustice but we have confidence it will be remedied on appeal. (They’ll say that even if they don’t believe it.) But that doesn’t constitute being happy.
With two lawyers on the jury, were I living in NY and needed a lawyer, those would be the last two I would ever, no, I simply wouldn’t use them even if they were the last two lawyers.

Instead, the charges would be forming a terrorist group with the intention of assassinating Stalin and other communist leaders. For extra measure, they’d torture the accused into signing a confession saying so.

Here’s how the Dems did it. They hid a federal law until the defense had rested and then stated that Trump had broken that law (never mentioned during the trial) and that was the underlying law that makes all the other charges criminal. They said Trump used all those other actions to hide the federal law he broke.
The court is a State court leaning on a federal law to get a conviction. Will it stand? I have no clue.
This is NYC. If those two lawyers did not deliver a guilty verdict they would never work again in Manhattan.

You are wrong. Trump has a 14th Amendment right to remove this case to federal court even before state Court appeals are decided.
