Some in my family are "normies" who just don't have the energy to care about what they call "politics". They believe the government is corrupt but think there's nothing we can do - no good options - so they just want to ignore it and "remain sane". Basically they are black-pilled, and they say most people are the same way.
How do we reach these people? This is what I'd like to say to them, if there was a way to get them to listen. Can somebody help me out here?

We were not vigilant enough to maintain and keep the freedom we received. It’s a stinky political world right now, but as tempting as it is to just hold our noses and ignore it, unless each one of us cares enough to turn this around, this is a very small glimpse of the government we might pass on to our children:
Passing a law that targets one person.
Giving a ticket to the guy going 76mph on the interstate when everyone else is going 90.
Planting fake evidence against whoever goes against a political agenda.
Jailing political prisoners indefinitely without charging them with crimes.
Torturing those political prisoners.
Spying on everybody but especially judges and lawmakers.
Keeping sex crimes unprosecuted so perpetrators can be blackmailed.
Law enforcement getting rid of “no trespassing” signs and barriers, guiding people into a secretly-restricted area, and then calling them terrorists and giving them jail time and fines.
Firing rubber bullets and teargas at peaceful protesters after a year of letting arsonists, brick throwers, sucker-punchers, and looters off scot-free.
Law enforcement busing in agitators to frame peaceful protestors; agitators fist-bumping law enforcement when violence is achieved.
The leader who refused 20,000 National Guardsmen to prevent “an insurrection” holding herself off-limits to Congressional investigation about her role.
Congressional investigators all hand-picked by that leader hiding evidence disproving their accusations toward her political rivals and holding televised hearings where they tell lies unchecked.
Requiring people to submit to scientific experiments that will kill them and their children.
Having weapons that can undetectably assassinate any person any time.
Having weapons that can brainwash psychologically vulnerable people and use them to commit any atrocity on demand.
Having weapons that can set fires and trigger earthquakes at any time and any place.
Bureaucrats who break every law to target a political enemy – and are then protected by the “Department of Justice”.
Trials that violate evidentiary standards.
Judges and prosecutors who get rich and famous by targeting a political figure.
Juries who lie about their biases so they can punish their political enemies.
Changing a law to get rid of the statute of limitations temporarily so that one man can be bankrupted for defending himself against a 30-year-old rape allegation whose “victim” is caught red-handed lying about the dress she supposedly wore – the only actual evidence even claimed in the case.
A President taking bribes from nearly all the country’s enemies.
Taxpayers forced to pay the President’s money-laundering nation to support the war that erupts when another country finds our CIA creating bioweapons directed toward them.
Staging color revolutions all over the world and in our own country to insure massive worldwide bloodshed.
Censoring factual content on social media and “news”.
Allowing and protecting the abuse, selling, and killing of adult and child sex slaves.
Arming drug cartels.
Passing so many laws and regulations that nobody can possibly be innocent of them all.
Deliberately putting human toxins in food, air, and mosquitos.
Doing the bidding of those planning the extermination of 80% of the world’s people.
Banning home gardens
Banning vehicles that we can afford and that can safely get us to work and back. Rigging “scientific studies” to call safe, effective treatments dangerous, to keep hundreds of thousands of sick people from being saved.
Prosecuting anyone who holds that our own laws governing election safeguards should be obeyed
Deliberately leaving our border unprotected so that any terrorist and any disease carrier can walk in and be received with open arms.

Maybe you’re right. Maybe worse is to come yet.
I remember watching “Left Behind” and wondering how on earth a whole group of people could see a man shot and keep repeating the mantra, “Such a tragedy” as they claimed he killed himself.
I didn’t believe such strong delusion was possible. But it is. I see it every day. Incompetent or not, this current bunch has achieved that. And if they aren’t stopped they certainly will achieve much, much worse.
Only God knows the times for sure. I’ll trust Him on that, but I hope that this current bunch falls, if for no other reason than the reality of justice in this world could wake many people to understand and receive Christ as the One who is truly FOR us.
Work with people who aren’t demoralized.
I am not saying abandon your family. Just lead by being with those who are moving forward. Keep it positive. Work in your church and etc with people who are largely on the same page. Christmases and birthdays and weddings and funerals and emergencies you are still there for the fam.

I think we can see a glimpse of this now. Even though the current Regime of the West is evil and malevolent, they are also incompetent and weak.
They are strong enough to tyrannize their own people. But they are too weak to do many things internationally that they would like.
They would want to impose LGBT on every nation on earth, but even the nations of Africa defy them, and there is nothing they can do.
They would like to force Israel to surrender to Hamas, but they don’t have the capability to do it.
If the Regime was strong and competent like they were 30 years ago, they would be able to do it. But the Regime actions to undermine their own societies have made them weaker, so they can’t do what they want to other nations.
Sadly, I can’t disagree with your assessment.
I got off of FB when some nieces and nephews treated me just as crappily as any brainwashed youngster out there. Smart kids, but they could not see the lies for what they are. They insisted that snopes and the mediababes have it all right, and only rubes would question that.
Looking back I’m ashamed about some of my responses, because I so badly wanted to smack them out of their smug “smarter than you” holiness. Not one of them was able to actually discuss evidence but instead fell back on their “Your sources are not credible and I don’t want to talk to you” default. One deleted me altogether so I couldn’t contact her in any way.
They were all raised within the church. Several were raised in Christian schools.
How do we change this?
When my kids were in school the worst teachers of all were in middle school. Teachers who switched from elementary classrooms to middle school ones suddenly became totally unreasonable. During Black History Month one year, there were bulletin boards with minorities, including Malcolm X and some others. My son was troubled about the whole “diversity is our strength” thing and I talked to him about how the Bible says we all have different strengths. Some are an ear and others a hand - diffent abilities - but we all need each other. I said that diversity isn’t just about race but about all different kinds of people and how we should respect those who have different abilities than we do.
He talked about it with his teacher, glad he finally understood and could get behind it. Then she told him that diversity is just about Blacks, not about actually respecting all human life and treasuring differences that can fill in the weaknesses we each have.
Why did she have to do that?
When that same son was in high school he was supposed to do a research paper. He chose to do it on gun control. He is a scientist at his core, and he wanted to research actual raw data. The instructor would only let him use websites that were in the “approved” listing. IOW, lying, undocumented, totally unscientific reports. He couldn’t do it. I went to the teacher and explained why he was struggling: none of the approved sources actually did real research or discussed genuine evidence. She didn’t believe me. I asked why he couldn’t use FBI crime statistics pages. No, that wouldn’t be “credible” sources, she said. She made fun of him in class daily. He was suicidal. I wrote a long letter and met with the principal about it. In the end he stood by the teacher, who was the department head.
They just undid any real principle of real journalism, in their gusto to uphold the stinking, lying media. And they nearly killed my son to do it.
I took him out and homeschooled him. The kid is a genius. Those “well-meaning teachers” would have gladly killed him in order to keep their lying propaganda flowing.
His 2 older siblings had already been through that class and just poo-poohed their way through just to get along. The older kids turned out fine but to this day, they are less likely to understand what we are up against than the son whose very core being was attacked by those communists.
How can we change that? And how can we deal with a generation of kids that has no concept of what it means to think in an evidence-based way?
The snark and holier-than-thou judgment on anybody not buying the DEI, erase-everybody-wh0-isn’t-perfect, woke crap makes it almost impossible to have a meaningful conversation with them.
Can somebody help me know how to deal with that?
Sounds like you are dealing with that in the best way you see fit.
One of the most pervasive human traits is never wanting to admit that one is wrong. The worst approach you can take with anybody is say that they are "stupid" and "wrong" in their beliefs. All that will do is force them to dig in and defend their beliefs no matter how wrong they are.
Parents make this mistake with their children all the time. The natural state of children when they reach adolescence is to rebel against their parents and other authority figures.
It's human nature. We even see it here on the Free Republic.
We need to learn not to be "preachy" and judgmental towards others who do not share our beliefs. That is a sure way way to make them lock themselves into their flawed beliefs as they do not want to admit they were wrong and thus lose face.
Let them come around on their own.
And when (or if) they do come around, never, ever, tell them "I told you so."

If you try to convert them to your point of view, you are going to be seen as a nut and they will not want anything to do with you...
That’s a good idea and one reason why I’m here. I don’t want to just complain about how bad things are because that will only demoralize me too. But I want to find people who can help me move forward and who I can work with to try to change things as best we can.
I’ve thought of trying to learn how Scott Pressler gets so much voter registration done. I’ve thought of trying to learn how to do phone bank calling for get-out-the-vote. But I recognize that I’m not good with people and really can’t relate to how most normies think. I’d probably do more harm than good.
My closest friends at church may or may not be demoralized, but I know one is fragile enough that she has panic attacks when she thinks about the enemies within our country. Another one has, together with her husband, publicly supported (on FB) Ben Sasse over anybody questioning the integrity of the 2020 election. I love them but I don’t trust them to be reasonable.
The Nebraska Republicans are supporting Don Bacon. They had also orchestrated a bimbo claim by State Senator Slava against the primary challenger to Gov Jim Pillen. I like Pillen but what they - including then-gov Pete Rickets - did using lying “Me Too” accusations did NOT sit well with me and I’m not ready to trust anybody associated with the Repub party in Nebraska.
I also don’t trust myself to not screw up. I don’t think like most people and can’t read whether they are open to serious discussion about things that matter to me. I’m a good listener to what others care about; maybe the key for me is to just listen and keep my mouth shut.
I hear you. That should wake anybody up.
But were you apathetic when you saw these things, or were you already interested? How did these facts come to your attention and keep your attention enough for you to check them out and find them true?
My sister knows the country is in trouble. She just doesn’t want to think about it and for sure wouldn’t try to do anything to fix it. She’s given up.
Do you have relationships with like-minded people already? It’s hard to evangelize if you’re all alone, and sometimes it helps to spend time with other watchful patriots to learn things, enjoy one another’s company and what not. Plus, we’ve come far enough down the road of destruction that you might not want to vest your hope in lots of people coming to see the light if they haven’t already.
I told her I could understand where she was coming from; it’s hard to have the emotional energy to deal with all the venom floating around.
She knows things are bad. She just has no fight left. I can’t get milk out of a turnip. But I feel badly that she has given up. And I wonder if what in the end will defeat any chance at turning this thing around is that the Deep State has already beaten everybody to death.
I wish I could be Samwise Gamgee. I can’t carry Frodo’s ring for him, but I can carry him when he is too weak to keep going. I wish I knew how to do that for her, and for anybody else like her who doesn’t even have the strength to raise their head and see hope.
What I’m hearing here is that maybe I need to start raising hope generally, by coming up with ways to make an impact on those who may not be as demoralized as my sister, and maybe when she sees some things happening - maybe just in her peripheral vision - she will dare to raise her head.
I know I can’t beat anybody over the head and expect to win them over.
Another sister and one of my brothers are kindred spirits on all of this.
My sister had the same experience with other family members including nieces and nephews and mostly wants to nurse her wounds and just keep herself together.
I wish I could be with my brother but he’s 4 hours away and doesn’t have internet.
Now that I’m thinking about it, there are some people at church that I am kindred spirits with on this; it might be good to spend some time together as they’ve also said they feel alone on these things. Both are fellow widows. Just thinking about being with them brightens my day. They weren’t in my close circle of friends but we were friends through my husband’s ministry with/to them.
I know what you mean about not getting my hopes up about a lot of people coming around if they haven’t already. Thing is, I think that will be necessary if the country is ever going to heal. I don’t think we can heal without the truth (about what was done to us and how) coming out and being acknowledged by the public as a whole.
The author was right, who talked about MAGA not trusting the media because even after 3 years of lying to us about Russian collusion and the Deep State’s criminal behavior the media never acknowledged it or apologized but just sort of changed the subject and still made digs at us afterwards.
There are people who want us to unify behind somebody who is not Trump and just sort of forget everything that’s happened and go merrily on our way. It can’t happen. You don’t have the Holocaust and then just start over without ever processing what happened and how. When the deniers walk through the gas chambers and come out crying on the other side, THEN you can begin the processing and move forward.
Will our fellow countrymen ever be able to do that?

As far as protest groups..
Half of them would be feds.
Get a political party that:
A actually stands for something (not just says crap but STANDS for it)
B actually wins
That will make people care. Because really, honestly, right now, there’s no reason to care. Neither party has any interest in doing anything about your list. Neither party stands for anything. Neither party tries to actually accomplish anything when they get in office. Voting for either of them is just jerking off. There’s no reason not to be apathetic, because nothing we can do effects anything anyway.

I believe the problem will rectify itself because you CAN'T serve people so many warm bowls of $HIT before they rebel.
I understand why you would say those things. Too often what we see is the uniparty with its strongly-worded letters at most and usually not even that. We have too many RINO’s that side with democrats and leave the R’s ineffective. I think just about everybody on FR has complained about this.
But in spite of the political games there is a difference and there are Republicans who are willing to investigate at least some of the things on my list.
For instance, contrast the Pelosi-appointed J6 Committee’s findings with what Rep Clay Higgins has found. Night and day difference. Higgins finds most of the violence was done by those the FBI brought in on “ghost buses”. He says the whole thing was a government set-up. What he’s found flies in the face of what the corruptocrats claimed to have found, and between that and the release of the actual video footage, hopefully J6ers can actually plead the truth in their cases. Not that it’s going to make a difference to a DC jury or to the corrupt judges, but the truth coming out will chip away at the public’s realization of just how corrupt the whole stinking DC mess is.
The democrats know it matters that they don’t have the House majority. We know it because they are getting the dem-lite RINO’s to resign in order to keep the R’s from being able to continue their investigations. I’m really hoping James O’Keefe has somebody checking out how those RINO’s are being “persuaded” and/or paid off.
The way to get a decent Republican party is to stop the blackmail and bribes that are going on. Not sure how we can do that. I wish there was a way for Madison Cawthorn to flesh out and document the claims he made about the sex orgies, drugs, etc. or if we could get whistleblowers to safely come forward. Again, wouldn’t it be great if James O’Keefe could get some footage? Maybe some of us could hire some PI’s to get the goods. Find the “bugs” used to get the recordings. Find some way to find out who is on the tapes the FBI got from Diddy and how they are being used to bribe the DC critters. I wonder if the coatroom recordings of Congress could somehow be subpoenaed or required to be disclosed.
I’m just trying to brainstorm. We do need to stiffen R spines. I think if we could find out the bribes and blackmail being used and close those options for the Deep State it would go a long way. I’d sure like to know what Feinstein was saying to Murkowski in the hallway photo of her towering over a cowering Murkowski.
MTG says that if the 70% of the public that is against Ukraine aid would flex its muscles they could stop the imminent $60B sellout by Mike Johnson. The only way we’d know is to try it.

No. There is no difference. And government investigations are nothing more than jerking off. Really nothing has come out of any investigation since Watergate. They exist just to placate the base. The whole process is a lie.
Who cares what Pelosi or Higgins found? Nothing happened from either one. Just placating the base.
There are no RINOs the party is a LIE. There no good Republicans, anybody in the party has already been subjugated. The Democrats don’t about house majority, they know it’s all a pack of lies.
You can never get the Rs off their duffs. They don’t care. They don’t care about you. They don’t care about me. They don’t care about anything. They’ve successfully made it a “w party system” so the money is guaranteed.
Walk away. Leave the GOP, find a 3rd party, or stay independent. Never vote for ANYONE that has a D or R after their name. Find a way to break the duopoly. And outside of that, don’t pay attention. None of it matters, it’s all smoke and mirrors to keep you loyal. Don’t be loyal.
