Now, even if he does eventually win, each vote loss diminishes the effectiveness of a McCarthy speakership.
The last thing pubbies need is a weakened speaker.
When will the powers behind McCarthy admit this and request him to capitulate — which pubbies do with such regularity.

Oklahoma’s new district 1 congressman Brecheen makes the other 5 look like girly men. One is a girl.

Hopefully we don’t have a real national emergency that requires quick action by Congress.
How many decades since the last time we had a real national emergency that required quick action by Congress? I'm sure the Republic can manage just fine without any more trillion dollar spending bills for a few weeks.
To: RummyChick
I wish we had a lot more than 20.
But its significant what these few are doing.

Problem is the 20 don’t trust McCarthy to keep any agreement.

McCarthy won’t budge an inch for the conservatives but will bend over backwards for the Democrats See LS's post here:

Well, I’m going to pass along what a very conservative congressman told me yesterday: McCarthy gave in on EVERY rules change the holdouts wanted, including the vacate rule; he agreed to every single committee assignment and chairman they desired. “At this point he gave them every thing they wanted. They cannot name one single thing any more.”

Somebody remind me what the House of Representatives used to do? I think it used to serve a purpose.

Right...Trump is going to go to the Speaker's Office on the House schedule...and be in a position he knows "0" about.
And he will commute from Mar go Largo. Oh yea...Melania will love that.
To: ScottinVA
Hopefully we don’t have a real national emergency that requires quick action by Congress. Wait, what? You'd want Congress to respond to a "real national emergency"? Please tell me that you're not really that big a fool.

Not really, McCarthy refused to put to a floor vote, the release of all January 6th video and he won’t put a balanced budget to a floor vote.
