Pelosi just criticized Republicans for not voting for McCarthy. That says it all.
After omnibus passage this doesn’t need to be resolved until at least September. I say keep it going.

My wish:
McCarthy withdraws and nominates Jim Jordan.
Jim Jordan accepts and agrees to be Speaker.
Jim Jordan says “no backroom deals, no buying votes, let’s just do a straight up vote and get on with business”.
We’d see pretty quick who is interested in honesty and principles and who has their own agenda.
My suspicion is that many of the 20 Patriotic Holdouts would have a hissy fit and start screaming Jordan is RINO traitor. Only a suspicion mind you, but based on reports many of the Holdouts have been trying to blackmail McCarthy into secret deals.
Well.. Congress or Biden. Pick one.
