When I first saw this story, the bland headline (“Frederick Doughnut Shop Workers Say Business Shut Down Without Paying Them”) did not prepare me for the wonderfulness I would ultimately find:
A doughnut shop in Frederick, Maryland, abruptly shut down last week, and workers said they’re owed weeks in pay.
Glory Doughnuts & Diner on W. Patrick Street felt like home, its employees said. That all changed early Friday; the landlord shut the shop down over months of unpaid rent.
Without warning, 10 people were out of a job. They said they knew the business had been struggling, and some hadn’t been paid for several pay periods.
“They had us working when they didn’t know if they were ever going to be able to pay us,” former general manager Kiska Greenberg said Monday.
Ex-employee Shelby Turner said she was disappointed.
“I really cared for them. I felt like they were part of the family,” Turner said. Her paychecks began to bounce in recent months, she said.

This is my shocked face 🙄🙄🙄
Can’t make this stuff up meme please.
LMAO.
Prosaic concerns like making a profit are for normie breeders. These people are changing the world.
Targeted and marginalized by “The Patriarchy” - the silent boycott of (white male) heterosexual hate.
The free market sifts out another bad idea.
Or Christians.
Well gee a place like that Im shocked business was not booming/sarc sarc
“vegan donuts tasted “
No butter, no eggs.
Difficult to make a good donut without butter, eggs and animal fat. I mean, what’s the point? Just have a nice salad and some water for breakfast.
In the fantasy world of the Left, if you have a righteous idea, then everything is just supposed to work out, and everyone is supposed to be happy.
But in the real world, things are more complex. Which explains why things sometimes get unpleasant. It’s not the patriarchy. It’s not oppression. It’s not racism. It’s not hatred or bigotry or anything else. It’s just that making things work in the world is hard and things don’t always go well.
Yeah. Real "nice people" as typical examples Biden-Pelosi supporters who curse Christian morality.
Finally, we thought, someone is putting their Ivy League degree in Lesbian Vegan Doughnut Shop Comparative Economics to work.
No warning?
Reality (market forces, overhead, sensible business plan) is not kind to those who reject its existence.
Kind of like
Obey gravity... it’s the law.
Oh come on, it’s just a theory.
Okay, feel free...
Fat rednecks and homies both agree....Krispy Kreme is proof of God’s existence.
The mainstay “who?, what?, when?, where?, how?, and to what extent?” type of actual reporting died years ago. Don’t expect the gaslight media to actually convey any useful information, or even factual information, in many cases.
Snort!
But you are right, that is way to many employees.
Even if they are part time.
My local bakery has four and only the owner is full time.
My favorite flavor they made was “Don’t back the Blue Blueberry”. Maybe they alienated too many cops, and that’s why they went out of business.
Most likely. If they made decent donuts, they would do good business. They're liberals. Obviously they have the word of the mouth going on. Instead of being vegan, they should be pro-abortion. So people will actually eat their donuts. But it tastes like crap so they are not getting repeat business.
