When I first saw this story, the bland headline (“Frederick Doughnut Shop Workers Say Business Shut Down Without Paying Them”) did not prepare me for the wonderfulness I would ultimately find:
A doughnut shop in Frederick, Maryland, abruptly shut down last week, and workers said they’re owed weeks in pay.
Glory Doughnuts & Diner on W. Patrick Street felt like home, its employees said. That all changed early Friday; the landlord shut the shop down over months of unpaid rent.
Without warning, 10 people were out of a job. They said they knew the business had been struggling, and some hadn’t been paid for several pay periods.
“They had us working when they didn’t know if they were ever going to be able to pay us,” former general manager Kiska Greenberg said Monday.
Ex-employee Shelby Turner said she was disappointed.
“I really cared for them. I felt like they were part of the family,” Turner said. Her paychecks began to bounce in recent months, she said.

LOL! A lesbian vegan donut shop may have just been too niche to find its niche.
The proprietors.
I wouldn’t.
Why 10 employees? It should be just two of them until they get enough money coming in to hire another employee. How hard can it be to make a donut?
Yak, I love doughnuts but I just lost my appetite.
Eating out the glory donut holes.
Yup, classy place.
How did it fail? Don’t doughnuts have holes?
Correction: the bankruptcy filers.
“the landlord shut the shop down over months of unpaid rent.
Without warning,”
I rather doubt it really came with no warning whatsoever.
Would a Lesbian donut shop, as opposed to merely lesbian owned, only serve donuts with holes?
The Donut Hole’s weren’t tasty enough.
The EXproprietors. Also EX-money, added tax headaches, equipment sales, ... etc. One of the living arguments AGAINST Socialism, as in this is what socialism is against as, if you got Dunkin and Krispy, why introduce a new one?
Still, kudos for trying as it does take GUTS!
Interesting thing about the article: in a quick scan I didn’t see anything about how the vegan donuts tasted and how they were priced. Pretty important things when dealing with a restaurant. Were they good donuts or did they taste like crap and they only survived this long on liberal virtue signaling.
Glory hole doughnuts...I don’t want to know what their glaze is.
blehhh I just puked
Glory Doughnut Holes? Glory Hole Donuts? What could possibly go wrong?
Bet they didn’t allow cops either...lol
These ones would have glory holes.
