10 Shortages That Are Getting Worse
FinancialSurvivalNetwork ^ | 10/13/21 | Kerry Lutz

The global supply chain is in complete tatters. Tens of thousands of items and services are in short supply or can’t be found at all. This is leading to higher prices, a/k/a cost-push inflation, and a general decrease in the purchasing power of all fiat currencies, be it the US Dollar, the Japanese Yen or the Euro.

The choice of items to include here could fill volumes. We picked things that often appear very obscure, such as ketchup or pallets and yet are staples of modern life.

Pallets Wooden shipping pallets are required to transport almost anything imaginable including: paper goods, food items, auto parts, diapers, etc. Until now, they’ve always been plentiful and taken for granted. During the past year, pallet prices have more than doubled, going from less than $7 to over $15 now. According to Bloomberg, pallets are now a hot commodity, which has led to hoarding and even theft. While lumber prices have recently decreased, pallet prices have kept going up and continue to do so, while supplies will remain extremely tight for the foreseeable future.

Agree 100% that there is a short supply of common sense.

Also my patience to tolerate this president.

You're right.

The only 'history' the left wants taught is how their pet victim groups were abused...the black pity party writ large... Throw salt in wounds and keep it coming.

Americans can't see the commie pattern or understand how bad it'll get - is a travesty that can be blamed on our 'teachers'.... One more reason to end the 'public (commie) school system and replace it with vouchers and charter schools.

If you use a Cpap machine keep one extra jug of distilled water on hand. I frequently find it wiped out

“According to Bloomberg, pallets are now a hot commodity...”

The wife keeps talking about doing some crafty kind of things with “pallets”. I keep saying...”Not in THIS house.” Darn Pinterest.

our two spoiled rotten felines only eat Fancy Feast

I know what you mean. It's really weird, the only can food our cats will eat is Fancy Feast. They will not even eat tuna or any table scraps. It's almost like the cat food is formulated to result in this behavior.

There are tons of tomatoes at farmer markets. A person could make their own ketchup.

There's a sawmill right down the road from me that makes them and I doubt they've doubled their prices on them. I don't know who they sell to but I doubt they get an official stamp on them like some pallets. Yes, there are Standards and Regulations for frikkin pallets; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pallet#Standardization_and_regulation

At least one thing can go short and wouldn’t give a rat’s patoot: Champagne.

I can drink it, but it invariably gives me an acid stomach.

There are LOTS of good recipes online .... I make sugar-free since I’m low carb. I love the stuff .... have to be careful not to use food as an excuse to eat ketchup!

11. Cat Food.

Dog food too but not as apparent. It will be soon. My brand/type is out with an unknown restock time. While I did stock up for a 6 months supply; it will run out at some point too.

I'm not big on chips and other snack food I do like the low carb flavored rice cakes. Haven't seen those on the shelves in a month or more.

I wouldn’t doubt at all that we will soon see a food shortage under this criminal domestic enemy regime, and when that happens, all hell is going to break loose. If people freak out over toilet paper, imagine what’s going to happen if a food shortage is announced. Grocery stores would be cleaned out in a day and people who weren’t fast enough would be screwed. And no doubt Peter Buttegg would be more concerned with breast feeding and going to climate conferences.

Libs would have to have it to show their snobbyness. I find it interested the author would suggest that.

But drugs will not be in short supply and libs are big users of that also. It is the alt to champagne.

We have a pallet manufacturer here in Missouri that can’t find any help to work. Nice guy and his family are trying to survive.

Copper is #1 - No copper wire anywhere. Copper is needed for all electric motors and lift truck batteries.

Plenty of Copper in Northern Wisconsin that the EPA will not let us mine. Suppliers have no idea how to price new motors and batteries with the Copper shortage.

I do not understand ketchup or relish shortages. Did the Heinz and other similar factories close? The crops were there.
