10 Shortages That Are Getting Worse
FinancialSurvivalNetwork ^ | 10/13/21 | Kerry Lutz

The global supply chain is in complete tatters. Tens of thousands of items and services are in short supply or can’t be found at all. This is leading to higher prices, a/k/a cost-push inflation, and a general decrease in the purchasing power of all fiat currencies, be it the US Dollar, the Japanese Yen or the Euro.

The choice of items to include here could fill volumes. We picked things that often appear very obscure, such as ketchup or pallets and yet are staples of modern life.

Pallets Wooden shipping pallets are required to transport almost anything imaginable including: paper goods, food items, auto parts, diapers, etc. Until now, they’ve always been plentiful and taken for granted. During the past year, pallet prices have more than doubled, going from less than $7 to over $15 now. According to Bloomberg, pallets are now a hot commodity, which has led to hoarding and even theft. While lumber prices have recently decreased, pallet prices have kept going up and continue to do so, while supplies will remain extremely tight for the foreseeable future.

People who lived in the Soviet Union from 1950-1990 or Cuba from 1960 to the present would recognize immediately what is happening to America. The problem is that very few people living today in America actually were there and history is not taught or understood by the vast majority of the current American population.

In times like these we need a steady hand at the tiller. And we had that when Trump was president. But there is no steady hand now.

CNN and the rest of the media liars are saying that all is well. Too many Americans believe those lies. But I wonder how many will still believe when they see the empty shelves and the price increases.

My cat would rank that at #1. But yeah, you’re right. Quality wet cat food is now hard to get. The shelves in the pet section of my grocery story are mostly empty.

I thought that was just a fluke at first. But it’s been going on for a couple of months now.

Yes, some blockages will be government and some will be hold-up actions by private individuals/corporations.

Trump was pretty good about fixing things like this.

I am a little unsure on the wooden shipping pallets. I go by at least two places twice a month that make them both have been shut down for over a year, small places maybe 10 workers at most. Could be Covid related worker shortage don’t think it’s materials as they are reasonable close to supply from East Texas. Also some places are still giving away used ones. I have seen some make a few $$$ rebuilding used ones in years past.

You bring up one interesting topic. No one who lived in the Cuba of the 1950s....talks much of any shortage ever existing. Shortages only come up from 1960 on.

You’re right.

The only ‘history’ the left wants to taught is how their pet victim groups were abused...the black pity party writ large... Throw salt in wounds and keep it coming.

the fact Americans can’t see the commie pattern or understand how bad it’ll get - is a travesty. One more reason to end the ‘public (commie) school system and replace it with vouchers and charter schools.

Champagne This popular bubbly beverage could be heading towards a major Christmas shortage. The 2020 lockdowns decreased demand, not a lot people were celebrating during the pandemic. Champagne houses responded by reducing bottles produced. However, as things improve more people are celebrating their newly re-found freedom and Champagne demand is picking up. It will only increase as we come into the holiday season.

Article doesn’t mention drugs as being in short supply.
