On Tuesday afternoon Columbus police shot Makiyah Bryant, a 16-year-old girl who was attempting to stab another person.

16-year-old Makiyah Bryant was involved in a fight before police responded to reports of an attempted stabbing.

Protesters immediately took to the street following her death.

The mother of Makhia Bryant spoke to reporters about Makhia, “She was a very loving, peaceful little girl. She was 16-years-old. And Makhia had a motherly nature about her. She promoted peace.”

Police called to these situations should wait and arrive for cleanup after. There is simply no way for them to do their duty without recrimination in the current climate.

It was a large knife too from the looks of it. She could have killed the girl very easily, and/or turned the knife on the cop.

I recognize your sarcasm, it must be mentioned however, that as a mother of 4 I have many more effective techniques for enforcing rule compliance in the home. Physical punishment does not work half as well as the tricks I have up my sleeve, I’m sure your mother had some good ones too:)
