Many FReepers have knowledge to share about improving and maintaining health and would like to share it and learn from others; and others may not know much yet but want to learn. Some of us don't have much money for good insurance or doctors, some want to try other methods besides prescription meds, and some have experience in treating and solving health problems.
More and more "regular" doctors have accepted treatment methods such as the benefits of acupuncture, massage for many conditions, better diet, use of herbs and so on. There are limits, and often side effects, to some standard medical efforts.
My field is Ayurvedic herbalism and related measures, and have a lot of information I can post when I have time. I have seen herbs and sometimes dietary changes help people (including myself) with issues such as rheumatoid arthritis, high BP, gallstones, kidneystones, repeated boils, UTIs, prostate problems, insomnia, allergies, urinary incontinence, and many more. I hope to learn a lot from others with their knowledge and experience.
There are many "old fashioned" home care methods that were in common use a few generations ago that actually work and are cheap, such as castor oil packs, fomentations using alternating hot and cold water, and the like, which are easy to do. I am sure there is a lot of knowledge here on Free Republic that can be shared.
I would like this thread to stay civil without distruption, so my request is that people who think natural health methods are bunkum, make your own thread.
There are herbs that are considered to be useful in treating or ameliorating the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. I don’t have any experience with this, but here are some herbs that may like help this condition.
Kapi Kacchu
Mucuna pruriens
dosage: 3-15 grams a day. (1 teaspoon of powdered herbs is generally about 3 grams)
Tissues: all tissues, notably muscle, nerve, and reproductive
Properties: aphrodisiac, antismasmodic, carminite, nervine
Indications: general debility, depleted tissues, low libido, infertility, spermatorrhea, impotence, tics, tremors, spasms, Parkinson’s disease, digestive discomfor, flatulence
[much detailed info and I’ve probably posted about it earlier, but I want to focus on Parkinson’s today.]
It has an anabolic effect, thus imporoving the tone and strength of the muscle tissue and is specific for mamsa gata-vata, where vata (air)has increased and spread into the muscle tissue causing stiffness, fatigue, tics, tremors, and loss of strength and tone. It is often uses along with tonic herbs like ashwagandha, bala, and vidari kand to calm vata and bring back tone and coordination.
It has a long history for use in vata related conditions of the nervous system, such as Parkinson’s disease and similar conditions that present with tremors and rigidity, but with no clear diagnosis. Recently this herb has been given a lot of attention, due to modern research showing that the seed (the part used in herbalism) contains L-dopa, an essential percursor to dopamine.
Although it is questionable whether there is a known cure for this disease, this herb can help tremendously in reducing the need for increasingly strong medications and those who need them respond better to treatment. It combines well with herbs that help to pacify the muscle tissues such as bacopa, gotu kola, valerian, jatamansi, and ashwagandha.
I can post links if anyone asks.
Thank you lj

Thanks, LJ, for this Parkinson’s info.
I will show it to Mr. M tomorrow.
Very exciting!!
Thank you for those images! Will save.
The Kapi Kacchu is quite amazing. It is easy to find, I have a good source. I use it in formulas for other things.
I’m glad you remain cancer free. I get the tablets from India, ultra cheap. And if anyone wants info how to order, freepmail me.
I remember you said you had a friend with Parkinson’s.
Possibly from FLCCC Alliance (Front Line Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance), now called the "Independent Medical Alliance." They are prominant doctors who sacrificed their significant positions to promote effective Covid treatments, particularly Ivermectin. Now, they promote other repurposed drugs and remedies, including Ivermectin for cancer.
Yes. Thanx for the information
Yeah, I’m sure that was it, it’s the first place I checked.
Pinging the list - how to order IVM and other meds from India.
A friend just ordered Ivermectin and Mebendazole from this seller. I haven’t clicked these so not sure why two links. If anyone has problems or questions, I will pass on to her and get answers. Friend said the seller was easy to deal with and very helpful.
