Will these whispers turn to shouts?
The word behind the word is that Paul Manafort is already earning his keep BIG TIME as he moves to deliver a stunning blow to the Cruz campaign a source describes as a potential punch to the face that involves the number 172.
Here is a brief summary of what will simply be called the 172 Plan :
**Talks are ongoing and more numerous between Team Trump and a second party over the last 48-hours.
**If these talks lead to an agreement, it will be a game-changer in the 2016 Republican nomination process.
**Manafort is said to be personally leading the negotiations with Donald Trumps full approval. In fact, its believed Manafort was the first to suggest this scenario last month but did so then more as an observer of the campaign. Now he is a top-ranking operative/adviser for Team Trump.
**This ongoing negotiation has sent the Cruz campaign scrambling to block further negotiation from materializing and getting a considerable assist from powerful GOP forces.
A severe pink belly, or if they don’t play fair, a nuclear indian sunburn.
Rubio has 171 according to two sites.

I’m a pretty big fan of the Political Vulcan Nerve Pinch.
I’ve always believed that any deal needed to win the nomination would be made before the first ballot, and might even be accomplished in the Convention Rules Committee. That accomplishes what was going to happen anyway without interrupting the schedules of the media or convention attendees.
The easiest deal in these situations (without considering the specific candidates) is that the first-place guy makes a deal with the third-place guy and/or minor players to freeze out the second place guy.
You're right. Eight years of Trump, then eight years of Rubio. I could live with that. Anyone but a socialist dem. Plus the latino vote will be higher in eight years. We have to stop the socialism/communism that has infected the nation. It affects everything, the culture, ethics, morality, . . you could go on and on. We need a reset and restore.
Who cares about you and your silly threats? You sound like that drama queen hack Levin. Trump beat Ted 10 times already in debates. Winners don’t debate losers. Stop being a baby.
I always thought this would be the ultimate checkmate smacking down Cruz, the media and the establishment.
Oh wow. That’s interesting. I do agree we need Ohio. But when I compare Rubio and Kasick, Rubio comes ahead. Yes he was completely stupid in the gang of 8. But Kasick has been saying some very concerning statements this campaign. The latest saying he would not have signed the transgendered bill. His foreign policy knowledge is weaker then Rubio. However, whatever it takes to get trump to the White House, I’m cool with it. And to rid ourselves of Cruz is icing on the cake.
Oh, and Kasich who stayed in while Rubio was told to get out.
We shall see. I will vote for Trump if he is the nominee. But my head won’t explode when he turns out to be a mere mortal and (gasp!) liar. I’m curious what he’ll do to make your head explode.
Both of these men would have strong advantages over Hillary or even Jeb Bush-types. Cruz has the best ground game and has been strategically planning since the beginning. Trump has his “balls forward” approach that has generally worked very well, knocking down liberals and RINOs and their PC speech and expectations.
There is nothing Trump can do that the Cruz camp hasn't considered. It's possible they thought something wasn't worth it that Trump is willing to chance, but I do not see any true “underhanded” situations coming up—especially since Donald hasn't played well with anyone in the GOPe, while Cruz gets most all of their endorsements, now.
I hope plan 1237 stays viable.

Yup ... It’s Rubio plus 1
We can only speculate what the “punch in the face” for Cruz will be. Therefore, I will speculate. 1. No one can receive votes unless they are nominated. 2, To be nominated ,one must have the majority of 8 states delegates. 3. Trump has them, Cruz doesn’t. 4. A delegate cannot vote if they are bound legally to non nominated candidate. 5 Trump is the only eligible candidate. 7.There are 500 bound delegates that can’t vote ( including cruz’s) 7. Trump need 50%= one of eligible delegates that can vote.8. Trump wins nomination with only 987 votes ( not 1237) following his exclusive nomination. No one else can be placed in nomination.
Now, that is a punch in the face, not just for Cruz but for the GOPe. Go Trump!!
[[a nuclear indian sunburn.]]
Noooo not the nuclear indian sunburn! That will defiantely sink Ted
You weren't going to vote for him, anyhow...and are just looking for any lame excuse.
Leni
I think Trump can manage without your vote.
Rubio will do it because he needs to latch on to something, because he and Cruz hate each other, because he and Jeb hate each other, because he won’t be reelected.
Rubio has no real prospects. All he has are delegates to trade.
