I'm a Tea Partier. I detest Obama and the Progressive hoard that has Washington, DC and large portions of America in a death grip. So why don't I like Donald Trump?
Honestly, sometimes I wonder what the hell is wrong with me these days. Why can't I get on the bandwagon along with so many others with whom I agree about most everything? ...
So what's the problem with Trump? In a nutshell: judgment, or rather a deficit of it, which in turn ought to make reasonable people otherwise inclined to agree with him to perhaps, think a bit harder about the consequences of their support for him in a precarious and dangerous world ...

He’s a born-wealthy privileged blowhard with no experience doing anything he couldn’t already control and is fundamentally that common contradiction in terms, a big-government libertarian. This is, big government when it suits his control fantasies, and libertarian when it suits his social life. That’s why I don’t like him.
A conservative he is not.
Yes. We Vulgarians connect very well with that. Not so much with the conservative intellectualizing for it's own sake.
Before Trump, most of us on FR believed in smaller government. Now, bigger government works for many, as long as their cool guy is in charge and he says funny things about liberals and milquetoast Republicans.
Oh and things like constancy and coherency in political principles is also out of fashion. Bragging about buying politicians is really cool now too, for those conservatives who have "evolved" into trumpoids.
andy58-in-nh used to be a FReeper.
I haven’t seen him around for over a year.
Perhaps he got mad. I’m sure he wasn’t banned.
No, GFY is an abbreviation for something we don’t want to spell out.
Frankly, your 60s analysis calls your current judgment into question.
I’m not suggesting that one should admire Trump, I am saying that some men likely envy him. How obtuse can you be to keep putting up strawman responses to what I didn’t in the least suggest?
Trump was a known athlete in school, with classmates reporting that he could have gone pro in baseball. But he’s a good golfer today.
But while we’re at it, I’m not so narrow as to dismiss someone because of where they live (Manhattan) or because their children are capable of friendships across political divides. Jeesh!
Youre the one talking about droves.
‘By the way, I didnt say anything about droves or use that term.
Perhaps you are mixing up another post with mine.’
Someone is mixed up; on that we can agree.
Here is your “droves” quote:
‘Its funny that anyone thinks an almost 70 year old creepy guy on the radio is going to bring in droves of you people to the GOP.
Rule number one: democrat lite does not work.’
My question to you is, why can’t you remember using the word “droves?” Why do I have to look it up for you?
Here is your quote (in context), that I initially responded to:
Other poster: “Trumps a pretty good guy - funny on Howard Stern or the WWE
You: ‘Fact that he goes on this things are disqualifiers to me.’
I guess that by “disqualifiers,” you mean something other than what the word means.
on the 30 or 40% of issues where Trump is pro big government and Cruz is pro limited government, which one would we be luckier to have as President?
We’re seeing our beloved country go down the tubes and people are frustrated.
What is the most liberal position/idea Trump advanced in his policy manifesto, published four years ago, Time to get Tough?
Your post link was very moving, if I had not already made up my mind to support Trump, this post would be number one in making up my mind.
Well Done
Not sure who wrote this, but he expresses my concerns perfectly.
Yes, I’ll vote for Trump if he wins the nomination next year, but I will be very worried.
So you’re saying GMTA doesn’t
mean Good Morning To All, too?
Once again, that's:
I’ll tell you what bothers me. Pols who don’t speak frankly about the human/American devastation wrought by an unlimited number of foreign invaders flooding across the wide open borders. Pols who won’t even use the word “deport.” Pols who enable Obama’s devastating TPA. Pols who openly plan to flood the labor force via massive increases in H-1B visas.
Thanks. I donate every month. Sometimes twice. :)
+1
I support Ted Cruz. I do not oppose Donald Trump. He is on my side.
