With nothing to lose, a McDaniel vote by vote challenge and write-in campaign is a great idea!

Chris McDaniel should mount a write-in campaign to be elected to the Senate from Mississippi, here’ why.

The first thing to consider in the aftermath of the underhanded stunt the GOPe pulled to keep their hands on power in Mississippi is that right now the candidacy of Chris McDaniel is dead. It cannot be killed because it is dead. That said, McDaniel has nothing at all to lose and everything to gain by pursuing every legal and political option available to him and even those “not” available to him.

After the votes were counted, Thad Cochran had 6693 votes more than Chris McDaniel in the primary runoff to secure the Republican nomination for United States Senate. Immediately after the votes were counted the media, the NAACP and the GOPe began taunting McDaniel with snarky comments about the TEA party being dead and the Republicans finally “reaching across the aisle to Blacks” asking what McDaniel is complaining about.

Investigation has already shown almost 800 fraudulent votes were cast in one heavily Black county alone. There are still at least nine other counties where heavy Black turnout likely swung the runoff to Cochran. Since the NAACP is bragging that as many as 35,000 Blacks voted for Cochran there will be plenty of double voting frauds to uncover and prosecute.

A conservative website carries a picture of a page in a voting precinct book from Hinds County that shows four people had voted in the June 3 Democrat primary which made them ineligible to vote in the Republican primary held on June 24; yet three of them did. To succeed, McDaniel doesn’t need to find anywhere near that 75% figure of fraudulent voters among Cochran’s African American Democrat troops. All he needs is...

As many have pointed out, you cannot be a write-in candidate in Mississippi.

The only thing that can be done in this race is to have a judge overturn the result because of the vote-buying

It is my understanding it is against Miss. Law for the loser of a primary to run in the General Election as a Write in candidate.

Overturned because of illegal vote buying may be McDaniel’s best strategy.

Write in McDaniel and force a loss to the GOPe.

Bustards deserve it after their dirty handed leftist race.

Kevin Collins almost never responds to a comment on his articles.
He just post for hits and runs along and apparently isn’t interested
in what the code provides for in MS.

Don't know that he should put all his eggs in that basket. If that story turns out to be wrong, then my guess would be that the GOPe put it out because they were starting to sweat Chris's strategy of uncovering illegal double voting and fraudulent absentee ballots.

I'm still suspicious of this Reverend. Dem's tactics are to change focus to a breaking scandal then prove it was nothing. That would leave all the work the McDaniel campaign has already done by the side of the road.

Chris should keep doing what he's doing and let the other stuff break as it will.

This sentence makes absolutely no sense.

As has been pointed out, write in campaigns aren't legal in Mississippi. So we have an example of another blogger (albeit a pretty good one) who evidently doesn't know what he is talking about.

I would be among the first one here to favor the idea of punishing the GOP-E. But invalidating a ballot is not one of the ways I'd advocate. There are always downticket races and usually referenda that need conservative input and having a ballot thrown out because of a violation doesn't help any other conservative in Missisippi.

Leave the Senate spot blank if you must, or find a valid way to vote for McDaniel. But ballot spoiling helps no one but the Democrats.

Of course I am not advocating putting all his eggs in one basket. By all means, he should keep investigating illegal crossover votes and absentee ballots.

Indeed there is a law in MS but it does not prohibit write-in candidates. Anyone can be a write-in candidate as long as they have not run previously in the primary for an established party.

So on its face it looks like McDaniel cannot run as a write-in. But that would be wrong to think because federal court case law does not support MS state law in regards to candidates seeking federal office. So according to federal rulings which trump state law, McDaniel can run as a write-in.

But I don’t think it will be necessary.

His campaign is doing a fine job of uncovering the fraud in MS. And it’s not just the buying of votes but something much more verifiable and solid on its face.

It is the state election commissioner who happens to be the sister-in-law of Haley Barbour that failed as was required to provide the democrat poll books for the runoff verification in the hundreds and hundreds of precincts throughout MS. This is the huge part of the entire scandal and will result in finding more than 6700 fraudulent votes to overturn the runoff election.

Or as the scandal becomes more well known, it to be imporssible for anyone but McDaniels to be the nominee.

Going the path of challenging the results and exposing the fraud is the path that will win constitutional conservatives the day. The ripple effect could be incredible....NO MORE ptb 'pubs turning their claws on elements of their own party. We need to make it very clear that we will not vote for anyone who supports or is even silent about this outrage.

...helps no one but the dems....

Don't you get it? A significant percentage of constitutional conservatives DON'T WANT a majority in the US Senate unless they clean house, starting with the nomination going to McDaniels (Cochran can make it simple by refusing the nomination). Do you seriously want McCain, Murkowski, McDonnell, Flake, Ayotte, Collins, etc etc to be the majority of anything?

Even of McDaniel can wrest the nomination from the crooks, you can bet the GOPE will work to sabotage and undermine his campaign. It is SOP for the RINOs.

If the ptb in the Republican Party would work against McDaniels, the dem should win.

Read what I said.

There absolutely has to be a purge of the Republican Party if it is to survive. I favor any means necessary, including a new party, to achieve that end.

What I don’t favor is the misguided idea that writing in McDaniel (which is his name, not McDaniels) will solve anything. All it will do is get the ballot thrown out, and downticket conservatives will suffer. As others have said, a court challenge and a new election is the best way to go.

By all means, get rid of Thud Cochran and all his enablers, some of whom appear to deserve prison time if the story can be believed. And let’s work as hard as we possibly can to get conservatives elected.

I can’t vouch for the accuracy of the following site but it list 7 states that
prohibit write-in votes for President, etc.

Yes I am sure. Federal rulings support both his filing as an independent and campaigning as a write-in. MS would need to make a solid argument of a “state compelling interest” in denying voters the right to elect him and this argument would need to be strong enough to overcome a federal injunction against the state.

But let’s not follow this tact yet because it looks very probable that the McDaniel campaign will get their evidence on a number of fronts to overturn the runoff election and quite possibly get Cochran kicked out altogether.

So, if someone writes in McDaniels the whole ballot is spoiled?

That’s too bad. I knew write-ins were invalid, but tossing the while ballot precludes writing in McDaniels anyway as a visible protest.
