This is the end of Hostess Bakery Company. It was started in 1930 and died a few days after Barack Obama was reelected. The smiles have barely left the faces of his supporters, and now thousands of them across the country are being fired and laid-off.
We deeply regret the necessity of todays decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike.
Hostess Brands will move promptly to lay off most of its 18,500-member workforce and focus on selling its assets to the highest bidders. With these 45 words the world has been turned upside down for proud and determined union members who were going to show Hostess how things will be from now on.
Instead they got a smack across the nose and a clear lesson about how an economy really works.
These 18,500 people have been led into a strike they never had a chance of winning. They foolishly believe Obamanomics works because their leaders told them so. Commies and union leaders lie.
The unions involved were thoroughly warned that a strike would mean the end of Hostess, but alas they didnt care.
They had just reelected their president so what could go wrong? Hostess would be forced to remain in business to provide them with jobs wouldnt they?
Because they are liberal Democrats these people know nothing about how wealth is created, and dont really care. All they know is if you have wealth they will find a way to take it.
They are child-like in their understanding of wealth. They are like five year olds who dont believe mommy has no money because they saw a ten dollar bill in her purse.
these layoffs which come just in time for Thanksgiving

That IS something he would do - “give” Hostess to the union.

but, but, but won’t obummmer bailout Hostess? WAAAAHHHHH!
So sorry for the owners and the workers of the company, but the owners warned the union and the workers took that risk.
So, if obummer wants to nationalize the Twinkie maker, then he can I guess. But the owners probably don’t want him to do that.
Can the fed govt force them to stay open? I don’t think so...

"I believe most, if not all, were hoping Romney would win and provide a small light of hope. "The ONLY solace I take is that Romney win was never going to me much of a 'win' in the first place.
He was no Reagan
And 70% of the primary voters tried to tell the GOP they wanted SOMEONE ELSE other than "Frontrunner" Mitt.

Uh. I, Twinkie, am sad that the Funny Monkeys on that morning show this morning yukked it up about Twinkie’s demise, and the loss of all those thousands of jobs. George Snotalotapus can just kiss my little Twinkie grits! RACISTS!! TWINKIE HATERS!!!

It can happen.
Right now we are living with government that tells businesses “You didn’t build that” and eminent domain and property tax laws that basically say “You pay taxes on it, but you don’t really own it if we want it or you miss a tax bill”, so it’s totally plausible they can tell a private business they cannot close their own doors.
Note nobody gives two craps about Solyndra going bankrupt, and this after hundreds of millions of dollars pumped in by the government that won’t be paid back. A union shop going down - well that is something the libtards crap their pants over.

Bingo... those of us who own and run small businesses are so screwed with Ozippy having won reelection. For example - a Wisconsin company just announced AFTER the election that they now had to lay of - for starters - 10% of their workforce - 13 layoffs for now. Their company sells equipment to the OIL industry, fracking, etc. Now just what do you think their chances of sustainable business is? HUH? Their business has dropped off dramatically in the last 4 years. Obama is horrible for business. THAT’s why. We were hoping and praying that the Makers would outnumber the Takers who voted for their own demise. Yes, I'm bitter. How do you fix stupid. I'm sick of hearing how the boss shouldn't make more than the factory line guy. YOU run a business, put your fanny, your house on the line to run a business, then get back to me, all you Obama voters.

You know I love that organic cooking
I always ask for more
And they call me Mr Natural
On down to the health food store
I only eat good sea salt
White sugar don't touch my lips
And my friends is always begging me
To take them on macrobiotic trips
Yes, they are
Oh, but at night I stake out my strong box
That I keep under lock and key
And I take it off to my closet
Where nobody else can see
I open that door so slowly
Take a peek up north and south
Then I pull out a Hostess Twinkie
And I pop it in my mouth
Yeah, in the daytime I'm Mr Natural
Just as healthy as I can be
But at night I'm a junk food junkie
Good lord have pity on me
Well, at lunchtime you can always find me
At the Whole Earth Vitamin Bar
Just sucking on my plain white yogurt
From my hand thrown pottery jar
And sippin' a little hand pressed cider
With a carrot stick for dessert
And wiping my face in a natural way
On the sleeve of my peasant shirt
Oh, yeah
Ah, but when that clock strikes midnight
And I'm all by myself
I work that combination on my secret hideaway shelf
And I pull out some Fritos corn chips
Dr Pepper and an ole Moon Pie
Then I sit back in glorious expectation
Of a genuine junk food high
Oh yeah, in the daytime I'm Mr Natural
Just as healthy as I can be
Oh, but at night I'm a junk food junkie
Good lord have pity on me
My friends down at the commune
They think I'm pretty neat
Oh, I don't know nothing about arts and crafts
But I give 'em all something to eat
I'm a friend to old Euell Gibbons
And I only eat home grown spice
I got a John Keats autographed Grecian urn
Filled up with my brown rice
Yes, I do
Oh, folks but lately I hae been spotted
With a Big Mac on my breath
Stumbling into a Colonel Sanders
With a face as white as death
I'm aftraid someday they'll find me
Just stretched out on my bed
With a handful of Pringles potato chips
And a Ding Dong by my head
In the daytime I'm Mr Natural
Just as healthy as I can be
But at night I'm a junk food junkie
Good lord have pity on me

It aint over until the court grants Hostess their request. The court cannot force the company's suppliers to sell to them on credit. So it looks like it is indeed over. Maybe the company will get sold intact (less the union contract). Let's hope so.

It isn’t the twinkies ill miss as much as the wonder bread. That was always the best store bought bread there was. It was the softest bread that took a long time before it went stale. Just perfect for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Now ill have to buy second best brands.

The unions may have been the ones to put the final nail in the coffin, but most of the nails were put in my Bain-type idiots who were more concerned with short-term profits than maintaining the longterm health of a company that provided a product that millions of people enjoyed. Don't forget the many nails put in by the EPA, OSHA, USDA, Sarbanes-Oxley, Workmen's Comp, Unemployment Insurance, Property Taxes, Health Insurance Mandates . . .

Ahhh ... the feminists hate the name Hostess anyway. Even the conservative radio talk show hostesses seem to go by “host” these days. It looks like the word actress is going the way of comedienne and poetess as well. Waitress might be the only one left before long, despite regular assault.

"Can anyone explain why so many companies are announcing layoffs after the election?"Possibilities...
- They were deluded and thought things might improve if Romney won. But I can't think of a single short term thing that would have improved including Rombamacare.
- They wanted Obama to win, so they held off on their decision to lay off until the election was over.
- Things have gotten worse, and the layoff's are related to the election, just the turn in the economy.
- Hillary has FBI files on them all and is causing Obama trouble.
- It's a giant Karl Rove plot.
- It's Bush's fault.
- They don't really have to lay off, they are just being vindictive.
- Layoffs beget layoffs. Once the layoff's start, other companies will take the opportunity to lay off too, because it is perceived as an economy wide thing, instead of the failure of a specific company's management.

I think that is a white house web site.
