Glenn Beck: The New LDS Apologist?
Art Vanick ^

Posted on 10/04/2010 1:11:50 PM PDT by Amerisrael

"This is weird. Glenn Beck, who became a Mormon a few years back, is now using his program to promote Mormon archaeology. If you click on these links you can view it. He also has a conspiracy theory about how science, government, commerce, and religion, not in the least, the Smithsonian Institute, purposefully altered history. My good friend Kurt Van Gorden sent me the links below, as well as the descriptions of what he is saying in the videos.

In the first video, about half way through, I about fell out of my chair when Beck referenced Adair’s History of the American Indians ( imagine! ) as proof of similarity between Native American ceremonies and Israelites. He forgot to mention that it predates the BOM by several decades (It was written arounde 1765!). He then ties the Egyptian pyramid math to the Indian mounds (only FARMS and the Maxwell Institute have ventured in this arena, which instantly identified his sources for me). Then in the second video, he uses the fraudulent Newark Stone and the fraudulent Bat Creek stone Hebrew inscriptions as proof of Hebrew among the Indians."

That’s some good basics there...I know you are solid in your personal faith...if you want to read something interesting you could give “The Jews in the Time of Jesus” by Stephen M. Wylen a look...it gives a lot of historical context to that period of time from a Jewish, as well as Christian perspective...magritte

Jesus was a man...though I understand why it is difficult for Jewish people to understand a Triune God...however he made us in His image and we are triune beings...body, soul and spirit, so I have no problem believing that an Almighty God who created the likes of us could inhabit by any means He chooses a physical body. So yes, I do believe that Jesus is God in the flesh and walked among His people as a man...amazing He would love so much to stoop so low to be among us. But then God does do amazing things not easily understood or even accepted.

As far as God not being Mortal...well Christ indeed rose from the dead...so death itself had no power over Him. What love that God would send us Salvation for that which we could not accomplish apart from Him.. Amazing Grace comes to mind.

some feel it their calling to inform Mormons that they are wrong and seem to want to eliminate them from participating in the conservative movement.

Well I have not seen any who "feel" that Mormons should be eliminated from participating in the conservative movement as you stated. However that would be something a Mormon might say....Nobody has stated they should be eliminated from anything CB...it appears you are grasping at straws by stating this....nobody I have seen here has said that so one is left to think perhaps you are creating the very division which your accusing others of. Mormonism and Christianity have been and always will be at the opposite ends......Conservatives come from all religious backgrounds and know well to keep their religious belief system primarily off the table in the political arena. It's one thing to mention their faith...quite another to be teaching it to others when you are in full view of the audiance as Beck is....and this is the issue with Beck now as he has begun doing so.

>>and this is the issue with Beck now as he has begun doing so.<<

I don’t listen to him on radio so wouldn’t know about that but on TV I have never seen him say anything other then to follow our own God. I don’t sense any Mormon influence as far as religion is concerned. Tonight for example he promoted a book that has all of Jesus statements from the Bible.

"I don’t sense any Mormon influence as far as religion is concerned."

Did you happen to catch the 8/18/2010 program? Glenn spend nearly half of the show presenting a fiction straight out of the Mormon handbook regarding the American Indians and Indian mounds and the Newark Stones. He was teaching a gross error as if fact, and used that error laden segment as basis for his excellent differentiation between manifest destiny and divine providence.

Additionally, in his opening remarks on 8/28, Glenn absolutely declared that what was happening in Egypt as Moses was leading the Hebrews out of Egypt was also occurring over here on this continent.

Listen to Glenn's opening remarks on 8/28. He is asserting pure Mormonism fiction as if factual. Watch the 8/18 second half of the TV show. He is teaching Mormonism fiction as if factual.

If Glenn doesn't correct these errors, he will be pilloried by the very bastards who he is skewering, when the time comes to discredit him for maximum political leverage.

I would be willing to bet that right now there are leftist media scum putting together a piece or pieces to be aired in early November which will use these gross Mormonism errors as the weapons to discredit Glenn Beck's incredible work! If we ignore the errors and he does nothing to correct them, we have not helped him as we seek to stand with him against these devils of progressivism.

I had not caught those instances. I agree with you that if in fact he is doing that he needs to be told. Have you done anything to contact him?

I am going to do some research so I have it straight in my head and will email him as well. I agree that if he is inserting his Mormon beliefs he will soon lose any influence he has at this point.

Yes, I correspond with Glenn, when he has time. I have sent him the documentation to refute the assertions, but I don’t know if it even gets past his staff. If you like, I can link to some of the materials I’ve sent to him which have Internet locations. You might also like to watch the Mormon teacher version on the Newark Stones. It’s easily found via a google or Youtube search on ‘Newark Holy Stones’.

Because I don’t believe that it’s wise to eliminate a sector of the conservative movement at this point in American history

LOL I ain’t goin there!

I will!

I type MUCH slower than I think and put in wrong words (spelled right) in strange places or just leave words out a LOT.

But just give a chance to EDIT what I've typed and then you could use it as Scripture!

>>Then why are you fighting with Christians over the cult mormonism ???<<

If you would go back and read my posts you would realize that I am not in disagreement that Mormonism is wrong. I have repeatedly said that I believe that it is wrong as is Catholicism and many Protestant churches. We can disagree on Theology all day long but it does us no good in regards to the struggle we now find ourselves in for the future of this country.

We, the conservatives, of all religions must band together in our quest to stop the Socialization of this nation and the spread of Islamic Sharia. If we do not it will matter little what religion we believe in as there will be no freedom of religion.

If you do not realize this there is little need for us to discuss it further.

The war on Christianity by the Mormons is inconsequential in the war we face today in America.

I guess we'll just have to disagree...
