Red State reports that Google might be giving bogus results about maps and directions to Glenn Beck’s rally.
"A reader emails that if you search Google today, on the eve of Glenn Beck’s rally, a search for Lincoln Memorial turns up, instead, the wrong address. And not just any wrong address either; it takes you to the FDR Memorial. Curious."
I have to say, and this may not be popular, but I question Glenn Beck and his motives. Don’t yell at me. I don’t disagree with his message or the research he’s done. I just don’t like this whole cult of personality thing going on here.
Creeps me out.
That’s strange. That’s exactly the way I feel about some Freepers who can’t give me a reason for why they don’t like somebody.
Does it really bother you that somebody doesn't like a public personality just because they don't like them? Does one really need lists of reasons? I don't like lots of people in the various entertainment/media industries, and usually it is just a personal reaction. I don't like Brad Pitt either, and I might even have a hard time telling you why. So what? But, if for some reason it really bothers you I mentioned some things about Beck that bother me in post 59.

I probably listen to his radio show more than watch the TV show. I DO support him, it’s just been a bad few months for me and my mind is not retaining a heck of a lot.
I can relate to that last sentence quite a bit. I go thru phases with watching any TV. Thank God for the DVR & the web. Hang in there, be blessed.

I have. I got along fine without Google Maps in DC. And anyone that depends on Google Maps exclusively for anything is an idiot.
You don’t need Google, but you do need a map. Unless you somehow deposited yourself directly in downtown and just stuck to the Smithsonian Mall. Which you can do if you wisely perused said map and chose the best routes to get down there.
Or if you used the subway/Metro, which is great.
DC is horribly, horribly laid out. Rectangular grid overlaid with spoke grid, split in “sections” by the Mall. As a native MDer of 40 years with much experience there - and good at spatial concepts and maps as well as sense of direction - I can attest to that.

Funny, because I REALLY don’t like the Cult of the Personality going on with Uhbama. I didn’t like it for Klintoon, but the Sheep are even more pathetic with The Zero.
