Those politicians and pedagogues who agitate for slavery reparations in the United States should consider what would happen if the descendants of slaves around the world sought the same from the countries in which their ancestors were enslaved. “Just as Europeans enslaved Africans, North Africans enslaved Europeans—more Europeans than there were Africans enslaved in the United States and in the 13 colonies from which it was formed,” economist Thomas Sowell writes. “The treatment of white galley slaves was even worse than the treatment of black slaves picking cotton.”
“But there are no movies or television dramas about it comparable to ‘Roots,’ and our schools and colleges don’t pound it into the heads of students.” Sowell is a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution who has taught at Rutgers, Amherst, Brandeis and UCLA.
“Only the fact that the West had more firepower than others put an end to slavery in many non-Western societies during the age of Western imperialism,” Sowell argues. “Yet today there are Americans who have gone to Africa to apologize for slavery—on a continent where slavery has still not been completely ended, to this very moment.”
Ironically, left-wing scholar and scribe Christopher Hitchens said pretty much the same thing in a lecture that Sean Grindlay covered for Accuracy in Academia in 2004...

Correct. However, at least five of the slaves produced this story with a happy ending.

I know because I learned it in college... and had it reinforced by radio, television, left-wing websites blah, blah, blah...
There were blacks in the early days of the US who owned slaves.
But all blacks will get reparations.....
Ya know, the fact there has NEVER been a movie made about the defense of Malta against the invading Turks and Pirate is a true travesty, esp. an era where Hollyweird “remaking” Bewitched or I Dream of Jeanie.
The same is true for the Battle of Lepanto.
Both of these battles are tremendous opportunities for heroic action films.
The very first individual on this continent bound under what has come to be recognized as chattel slavery was an African, John Casor.
He was purchased by a free black man, Anthony Johnson. This occurred in Virginia, in 1619.

muslims in various parts of the word (e.g., Sudan, Mauritania) still enslave "infidels", and sell slaves to rich muslims in the Gulf States and elsewhere. Most of these slaves are black. muslims also hold many other "infidels" in dhimmi status, and are threatening to re-introduce dhimmitude in other muslim countries.
islam has been the biggest slave system in world history, and still is today!!!! Meanwhile the taqiyya-practicing muslim would-be dictator Barack Hussein Muhammad obama bashes the great Commonwealth of Virginia for celebrating Confederate History Month, all because of slavery. Partners in Hussein's hypocrisy are the legions of phony academics who bash America (especially the South) and exalt islam, all while hiding islam's truly barbaric past and present.
As for Alex Haley's "Roots", it was plagiarized from an earlier novel, and was NOT about Haley's family history. The phony, plagiarized "Roots" (the book and the TV series) has done untold damage to America and her culture, leading us to emphasize "identity politics" over Americanism.
Are they going to get reparations for the millions that were enslaved to service Islamic needs throughout the mideast over the last 1400 years? Are they going to get Islam to answer?
Sure some went to America. Some went to Europe. But a huge number went to the Mid East and beyond.
Oh there is a vast array of possibilities for films showing the heroic bravery of Christians in the face of Mohameddan zombie invasions. In Europe in Africa in Asia.

Thanks ct. That proposed memorial is just a propaganda piece and should be A) rejected and B) smashed to bits.
Of course it’s propaganda. Only reason stuff like that gets built! They ought to build it to the Royal Navy. They stopped the trade once it was prohibited.
Millions of Christians whites were enslaved some into the 20th century at the hands of Turk and other Muslims.
Another fact not taught is that only in the US did black slaves ever live well enough to be self sustaining. Everywhere else in the Americas blacks were simply worked to death and replaced in a continual cycle.
I want MY reparations from the Queen of England for what 'she' did to my Irish ancestors! (Just don't give me Camilla as my payoff) And then I want MORE reparations from Italy for what the Romans did to my Germanic ancestors!
And THEN, I want EVEN MORE reparations from EVERYBODY in the USA for what my Irish immigrant ancestors had to endure here with the 'Irish Need Not Apply', bullcarp!
