Interesting thoughts on "aliens" by Stephen Hawking. Question - Is it possible that "aliens" are really just a demonic deception that will be revealed in the last days to lead us astray?

Good, I’m glad it helped you my FRiend. I always feel foolish to try to give “advice” to you! LOL Also - I can give advice, but that doesn’t mean I can always take it to heart myself! LOL
I think it’s great that you are involved with your pottery. I have to admit being fascinated by seeing the potter work at the local Pottery Factory - Haegger Pottery (sp?)... it’s in Dundee, IL. Anyway, they always had someone doing work “live” in the factory store there - even on the weekends.
The closest I ever got to doing that was a place called Plaster Hang-ups which was open for a while when I was young. A lot of us girls went there for the “activity” portion of our sleepover birthday parties for several years. You could pick a piece of pre-made plaster figurines or plaques, and paint them there. Then they would dry them and you could take them home. If you weren’t finished you could store it there, and come back and finish it on another day.
My girls tell me there’s a place like that downtown, but they also have glasses, and China/dishes as well as pottery and plaster figures. I’ll have to check it out sometime. It might be fun now that I’m older and a better painter! LOL

What is a state of mind? is it not also a place... is not a nightmare real till you awake? The inner space of the soul is locative, is it not? Life has internal and external places of meeting. Sin is a state of being and yes, it has been dealt with on one side of the equation, from God’s side, but not totally from the side of man. My point is in regard to being deceived by “aliens”, who are not what we think, but are one and the same with fallen angels, and those who have not that fellowship with God, are haunted in whatever way they can be deceived by those fallen angles. No quarrel with what you have said... and fire insurance against any locative hell, whether it be external or internal or both, comes only of that relationship with our creator. Praise Him who is the Creator and the lover of my soul!!

I felt exactly as you did for many years. As my faith has grown stronger, I've come to believe it's entirely possible that it's just us. Or maybe not; perhaps God saw fit to create others. IMHO the Bible does not rule out that possibility, although there are definitely problems with that view.
OTOH, I've also come to believe that the UFO/alien activity we experience here is likely demonic deception. I saw the movie THE FOURTH KIND a few months ago, which contains a mix of filmed actors and actual video footage from some incidents in Alaska. The activity to me appeared to have a clear demonic link, although the movie never made that connection. It's out on DVD now; folks interested in this topic should check it out.
Hawking radiation. Good point. Hasn’t been observed. I wonder if the spin of a black hole could be sufficiently fast to counter the gravity and to allow a sub-light escape velocity. It would probably have to sping at .9999 c, or something.

There have been quite a number of Evangelical Christian books and articles written about this, which go into how this subject of "alien civilizations" (from outer space) supposedly coming here and visiting us -- is apparently some kind of demonic deception to divert people from the message of the Bible and get them "off track".
So, yes, indeed... this is a very good question and there are answers about it in many Christian writings.
Lets just hope they don’t think we’re the demonic deception.
Well... some of "them" may consider Evangelical Christians who point out the deception from demons and evil angels (about alien civilizations from outer space coming to visit here) -- as the "demonic deception" itself.
That's very typical for those who are deceived by "doctrines of demons" -- to consider those who have the "truth of the Word of God" -- to "be the devil" in their own eyes. We see that playing out all the time.
I remember one religious person theorizing that the reason that aliens all had the same body type is because the aliens weren’t really from outerspace, but demons and the bodies were merely their shells.
Well, that's very perceptive of that person. And it's something that has been written up and discussed in Evangelical Christian circles for quite some time now. And it also fits what the Bible says about these things, too (i.e., the evil angels and their deception).
So, this person may not have been aware of everything about the subject, but he was on the right track...

Well, I don't know about "reptilian" and such (and yeah, I've seen the science fiction out there... LOL ...) -- but -- one thing that people should be aware of from the Bible -- it's that angels can appear in human form and not be recognized as different than normal people.
In fact, the Bible alerts Christians to the fact that they may even "entertain angels" being unaware of the fact that they are. This was in context of being hospitable and that one could entertain angels, so Christians, may at times, have entertained angels (who are strangers and they don't know who they are) -- in their own homes.
Thus, it's entirely possible for angels to appear just like other human beings (at least as far as how they look and in that they may sit down with you and eat dinner, perhaps...).
