I am so grieved by the travesty that occurred this evening in Washington. I am saddenned and extremely concerned for the future of our country and am looking for a way to express it.
Whatever happened to the activism of the 80s?! I remember seeing news coverage of groups of people picketing with "throw the bums out" signs, sending tea bags to Washington, the term limits and divided government concepts being debated on talking-heads shows.
Are any organizations leading the charge here? I know there are Freeps in Washington, but there has to be something we here in fly-over country can do--and I am sick of calling dem staffers who could care less about my views.
I came up with several ideas---flying flag upside down, sending tea bags to Washington, some sort of ribbon or bumper sticker campaign
--somehow conservatives need to start building momentum to mitigate this disaster. Any ideas/thots
I don’t know - but at least half the country doesn’t want this. What do we do?
I think every person in the US that has a gun should coordinate an every day at the same time fire ONE shot in the air or into a safe backstop.
Every day like clockwork, all across the nation.
Riots. Nothing less.
Many things could be done but for now most of those things
would be “preaching to the choir”.
Once the idiots start realizing their god 0bama is a False
Prophet, their attitudes might start changing.
I am not sure—I just remember people demonstrating with signs, etc. in the 80s and 90s—I think during Clinton adminstration...
Sometimes I think the internet has created a level of passivism—people are blogging all over the place, but Washington is not paying attention or if they are, they simply don’t care!
If there is not one already, IMHO needs to be a group, an organiztion that will speak for us disenfranchised citizens of fly-over country :(
That would certainly make the news and probably give all of the anti-gun folks ten times as much airtime, in the interest of fairness and all.
Well NRA could coordinate that—I live in Illinois, which is drunk with obama fever. Need something that gets attendion in Washington
Fly your tea bag upside down?
I might suggest though using blanks for safety sakes.
Something “loud” needs to be done. Maybe it can start subtly, like a ribbon or motto that can be on every car or t-shirt or lapel. It needs to become so “big” that eventually the left has been boiled slowly like the frog.
Green ribbons for greed, Black for sorrow or death. My Flag has been upside down since Nov. 4th. Now all you correct protocol on flag correctness hold up, in my War Room I have over 75 pictures of some sort of the Flag you will not find a more Patriotic person alive. Our Country is in distress and our lives are in danger.
<<I like your ideas—maybe a multicolored ribbon—green and black—upside down flag or upside down flag pin with the ribbon on coats? Good for comment at mall and trip to Starbucks, tho still would like to do something to get attention of my uninterested senators :(
Fly your tea bag upside down?
<<<I’m a visual person—graphic please?
The country for any number of reasons is very near the edge. Moving us back from that precipice would require very astute political and financial acumen. These were imputed to Team Obama in the campaign, sufficiently to get Obama into an office for which he has absolutely none of the needed skills, knowledge or experience and for which he can't or won't even prove he is eligible.
Since the election he and his team, such as it is, has done absolutely nothing to demonstrate that he actually has any of the skills or leadership ability those who elected him were convinced he had in abundance.
There is no reason to believe that passing of this measure will suddenly give him what he lacks. In fact, this measure is chock full of really damaging measures.
Obama was elected on gobs and gobs of hope and little else. Like my dad used to tell me in my moments of youthful exuberance and hope, “Hope in one hand, crap in the other and see which one fills up first.” He's gone now, but his words still seem to be pretty accurate!
I, for one, have fought this thing with everything I could muster from prayer to contributing scare resources of my fixed retirement income to people like Palin, etc. I plan on taking a well-earned break from the worry and fretting and take a front row seat to what I think will be a very interesting implosion.
“but at least half the country doesnt want this”
Wrong.
America has a population of 350 million. Only 64 million (allegedly) voted for Odooma.
There are as many people in America of voting age who didn’t vote, then there are who voted for both major candidates combined.
The marxists just want you to think they have a majority.
but only in the US congress. Not in people power.
What do we do? Well, organizing a massive protest would be great but it would take a popular major headliner like Rush or Palin to call for it.
Bumpersticker campaign, not a bad idea. Would have some effect if we could get them distributed. I like this one-- with text: line 1 "OBAMA'S" line 2: "PORK BILL" line 3: "STINKS" or.... this one with a similar message. As fired up as JimRob is right now, maybe we could talk him into starting up a FR fundraiser project to buy up a few thousands of these things and organize around the country to hand them out, or sell them in the FR shop to raise funds for FR.
Aside from that, we sit back, let the dogs have their day, let the general populace reach the boiling point, and watch the numbers on 2010... its gonna be a bloodbath. I think RNC should run ad's continuously to raise funds to take Congress back from the crazed tax and spend Democrats. Now would be the time to let loose the dogs of war. Go offensive in a big way. Democrats have just handed GOP the knife, will the GOP stick in their ribs?
Except for Memorial Day and Veterans’ Day, I fly a 4’x 6’ Gadsen Flag in lieu of the Stars and Stripes. When the Madhi gets around to his gun control, I’ll add a 3’x 5’ Gonzalez flag to the pole.
“I share your sense of frustration. I think the most important thing we can do right now is make sure that we don’t let our frustration get in the way of the MSM/Liberals as they proceed to destroy themselves.

<<< I see what you are saying and agree with much of it. I guess my concern is that they not only destroy themselves but they destroy us and our children’s future.
I keep thinking about the movie Network when everyone opens their window and says “I’m mad as He** and I’m not going to take it any more!!””
