I'm amazed by the pure hatred that has been shown toward a man that I simply can't put anywhere near Danielle from the time she was disappeared until she was found dead.

But I figure the tone speaks more of the speakers than the subject.

I'm so heartened to have found a more productive venue to put my energy regarding this case. And I appreciate the spirit of sharing information rather than cramming venom down readers' throats (and maybe other orifices, but I'm not checking! LOL)

I repeat my invitation for DW to come and visit my home at any time. I think he is a gentle and honest and honorable person. That's what I have learned from this trial.

I have said many times I do not believe David killed Danielle. The trial did not prove that he did, not in my opinion. I stand my ground.

If they execute David and later the truth comes out, the same media that tried him, will use him for their poster child against the death penalty.

If I ever bring myself to watch CourtTV after this trial, I will pay careful attention to see if the Lisa, Nancy, and the other chicks, et al....

...call other defendants.....monster.

They throw that word out, and so do their guests, with relish.

Know what you're saying. This case is a good example for why I'm against the death penalty.

I am having second thoughts about the death penalty. After this trial I really wonder if others have been unjustly tired. I must admit I fell once, then listening to the media heads brought me back to reality.

Unless David confesses I will not believe he did this. In my opinion the only thing the trial proved is the Van Dam's are sexual perverts and liars. I feel sorry for their boys having to live in this nightmare.

I am a crime victim and have no love for criminals.I have always been a strong supporter of the death penalty...until now. I have followed this case and trial from Day 1 and kept up with the evidence. I don't know if Westerfield is guilty or not, but I found plenty of reasonable doubt.I could not have voted guilty, had I been on the jury

If you read the transcripts of the testimony of all the people who supposedly wound up in the Van Dams house that night, they are all different. Why? Who's lying? Probably all of them, about one thing or another. I found none of them to be credible, especially Brenda and Damon.If it is true that Brenda was scouting out a book deal before her daughter was found, that speaks volumes about her. Too many things don't make sense and add up, and have never been explained by the prosecution. He got a conviction on emotion.

That jury should have been sequestered. Does anyone actually think they were not influenced by the media? Court TV, especially that dreadful Nancy Grace had him convicted from the beginning. Could that woman be any more odious and obnoxious?

Kim, I’m amazed at how well you’ve kept your composure on these threads. It does absolutely no good to attack someone because they happen to agree with the judge and jury in this case. While many people have followed the trial, only the jury got to deliberate the case with each other. They examined the evidence, compared notes, judged whether witnesses were credible, etc. I imagine there was a lot of tension and emotion in the jury room while they decided the case. I’ve served on a jury in a murder trail before, it’s no fun trust me.

The fact is, DW was found guilty and is thus a convicted murderer. He’ll get a chance to appeal the verdict. I’ve watched these threads off & on since they started. I think Kim has been slandered many times for no apparent reason. I’ve seen her try to act civil only to be ruthlessly attacked. I’m surprised, but glad, that she keeps coming back.

Thats a strange way to put it. She didn't die of disease or old age she wasn't killed by wild animals. DW was convicted because her blood was on his jacket & in his MH. The prints in the NH helped, as did the hair in his drain. The child porn was just the icing on the cake. Maybe someday he will tell us about it. Will you believe it then?

Yes DAW was convicted.
The DNA stain (not blood) was there, the fingerprint and hair was in the MH.
The question is how and when did it got there ?

Detectives Ott & Keyser seem to be on each scene just before any technician collected evidence.

The Bug-guys (four of four) say Danielle was killed and dumped between the 9th and the 18th.

Lessee -- 1 stain on the jacket, 1 stain on the carpet, 1 hair in the sink trap, and 1 print on the MH cabinet.
