The latest GOP debate saw a slight uptick in ratings on Thursday night — especially if you factor in both of the networks tuning in. Shared by CNN and Telemundo, the debate grossed an overnight rating of 9.9 among metered market households, with a 9.0 rating for CNN's coverage a 0.9 rating for Telemundo's. With final numbers, the debate fetched 14.5 million viewers. That's up 1 million from the most recent debate. For a Republican debate, it's also the strongest of 2016. It just edges past the recent weekend affair on CBS, which had a 9.3 overnight rating that ultimately...
  • Deace’s debate scorecard: Cruz and Rubio have big rally inning

Regarding tonight's debate, it was a good night for both Cruz and Rubio because it helped them change the narrative. Cruz has had a bad couple of weeks in that department, but tonight should guarantee he wins Texas and a lot of the delegates there. And frankly that's more important to him than winning close states elsewhere and here's why -- the proportional delegate allocation. For example, in 2012 Santorum won 11 states but only 245 delegates total, or just about 80 more than Ron Paul. The game is delegates, not states (see my previous post on this today). Cruz...

Trump faced yet another MSM/D.C. orchestrated political debate ambush in Houston. Nearly every politician on the stage, the media, the audience, which was stacked with Bush's, lobbyist, influence peddlers, donors and media, were all gunning for Trump. And America once again saw this for what it was. The entire event was about getting rid of Trump and keeping everything in D.C. business as usual. But it's not going to happen for them. And the dozens of polls I've seen, very much support Trump overwhelmingly. I am slowly regaining hope for America. How must have Trump seen this when he entered...

Wolf Blitzer and his fellow moderators questioned the winner of the past three nominating contests over everything from his unreleased tax returns to his horrendous polling numbers among Hispanics. Trump, though, remained largely calm throughout the night, giving nearly as good as he got during two-plus hours on the Houston stage. He didn't win every individual skirmish, but with more likely victories awaiting him on Super Tuesday, he won enough to leave Texas in the same position that he arrived: as the clear front-runner.

Is it over yet? Meanwhile, when we last tuned in at the Nevada Caucus, Donald Trump was terrifying the inept fools at the RNC who still haven’t figured out that a massive, populist uprising is taking place among the electorate. The GOP establishment is going to keep up the dirty tricks to ruin Trump all the way to Trump’s arrival at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Now, after blowing 150 million on the inept candidate, Jebediah Bush, they’re going to pour millions into the Rubio campaign, in what will be another feeble attempt to turn an Honorable Mention candidate into the first...

SALT LAKE CITY — The Republican National Committee announced it will be holding a presidential debate in Salt Lake City in March. The debate, which will be held on March 21 in Salt Lake City, was decided upon by the RNC's Debate Committee after the committee met on Saturday and decided another debate would be beneficial to the selection process. The March debate will be the first presidential debate the state of Utah has hosted. "Look at the punch Utah has nationally in Republican circles. The Republican committee recognizes that," Utah GOP Chairman James Evans said. "Utah has become a...
