Online poll: Trump up by 22 points in SC

Republican primary front-runner Donald Trump leads GOP field in South Carolina by 22 points ahead of the next  GOP primary, according to a new poll.

The CBS News “Battleground Tracker” poll released on Sunday morning shows Trump with 42 percent support.

He’s followed by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) with 20 percent support, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) with 15 percent support and Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R), who has seen a small surge after his second-place showing in New Hampshire, with 9 percent support.

Cruz wins a plurality of voters who describe themselves as “very conservative,” but trails Trump among conservatives overall and moderate Republicans.

The billionaire businessman is also bolstered by an anti-establishment sentiment in the Palmetto State, with respondents by a four-to-one margin describing the “establishment” as a bad thing.

Just 11 percent said the current crop of politicians in Washington knows how to get things done, while 45 percent said they are tired of business as usual.

The online CBS News poll surveyed 1,315 registered voters in South Carolina. It has a margin of error of 5.7 percent.

Trump has the same or a bigger lead than he had in New Hampshire. This is after the debate. Which lines up with most other polls.

Trump will easily win South Carolina.

I think the GOPe rigging the audience backfired big time. Now everyone knows and will watch for it.

One thing this tells us is that “very conservative” people are easily deceived by a young, clean, articulate first-term Senator who gives good speeches.

The ramparts of entitlement are so high that it will take a man with conviction levels off the scale to storm them. There's only two candidates who can do it - Ted, and Trump. Forget push polling, attack ads, who said what about abortion or Iraq twenty years ago. The lemmings are racing to the precipice - on immigration and the economy particularly - and it will be tough enough to slow the charge, let alone turn it around.

Who's toughest?

No, it shows conservatives aren’t fooled by Trump’s touchback amnesty masquerade among many other issues.

I think it’ll be Iowa, part two, and yet another upset as Cruz wins S.C.

Trump doesn’t button his jacket. That’s the source of his super-powers.

Trumpeteers have no interest in actually researching the fact that Ted Cruz fought the establishment on funding planned parenthood, sneaking gun control amendments into legislation, defunding Obamacare, etc. You should try producing an accurate graphic with Trump’s voter registration as a Democrat, his financial contributions to Democrats, and his boasting of his great relationship with Pelosi, Reid and Schumer.

Oh, come on. Admit it! You know Ted Cruz will let you down, but you just can’t help yourself! He is so young, so clean, so articulate, and there is just something about a first-term Senator who calls the Leader of his Party a “liar” that just captivates your inner rebel. And now we see that Ted lies as well as any Democrat. He does dirty tricks as well as Tricky Dick Nixon.

So he is really irresistible when you put him up against a loud mouthed Billionaire real estate salesman and reality TV star who say he is going to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it, cut back 20 years of Federal Regulations, end Common Core, and generally destroy the comfortable lives of millions of government workers and support contractors.

I mean destroying 50 year of Progressive domination of the Republic is so not Conservative! You would have to admit that while you were not fooled by the Clinton Crime Family, and the Chicago Political Machine, you were fooled by the Bush Crime Family. Poor baby! Better to hug a Teddy Bare than to admit you have been deceived by those you thought were on your side.

“Oh, come on. Admit it! You know Ted Cruz will let you down, but you just can’t help yourself!”

I have a feeling that I know the VOTERS will let me down, like so many times before. And yes, I’ll continue to support Cruz with small donations and vote for him in our upcoming caucus.

I have a history of chosing the losers - Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Duncan Hunter, etc. Heck - I was even rooting for Herman Cain early on when Bush won the first time. I recall working with some Liberal and she was all worked up when Bush won the first time. Ranting and raving. After she had calmed down I said “Yeah. I’m upset too. He’s not conservative enough for me.” She looked at me funny and didn’t say much the rest of the day!

I’ll close my eyes and vote for Trump if I have too.
