The ***OFFICIAL*** Friday/Saturday Night Singles' Thread February 24th and 25th, 2006
Me ^ | February 24, 2006 | Me

Posted on 02/24/2006 5:11:41 PM PST by najida

Guess who's hosting this edition of the singles thread!?! Scary, ain't it folks.

Anyhow, in the process of cleaning out boxes, it came to me....the questions that we all ask ourselves as we uncover chunks of our long lost past.....

What WAS I thinking!?!

So, my questions to all of you are:

What hobby or interest did you have when you were younger that you still have a passion for?

Ok, now....is there something you used to do that you now think "I can't believe I used to like that!"

Same with music---
What was your favorite band/song in highschool, then early adulthood compared to now? (Those still in early adulthood have only 2 questions to answer. Or maybe just one ;))

Is there anything in your interests, hobbies or life that would surprise people who know you? (Nothing weird, just.....) And if it invovles being on wanted posters, you can skip the question :)

lovely animal. Crossbreeds are the best, healthiest. There's nothing like (wo)man's best friend. May you both have a long life. Here's to you two! (toast)

In that regard....

I am reminded of the intro from the movie "baby boom", with Dianne Keaton, from 1987.::

"3 generations of women havd turned 2,000 years of tradidtion on its ear. Women now make up over 53% of the workforce."

Yeah, and look what "turning that tradition on it's ear has done. Children from stable, normal happily-married families are the EXCEPTION nowdays. Crime runs rampant, and many teens(expecially from those "broken homes") have no resepct for anyone, and have the "i'm entitled to what I want, without cost to me" mentality.

Another excerpt::

"Take J.C. Wiatt. She is a career-driven woman. She works from 5-9,6 days a week. (that is 72 HOURS, 12 hours a DAY, btw!!)."She is married to her job". She makes 6 figures from her advertising firm."

I don't know about you all, but I do NOT want to "work for the sake of workiong, or be "married to my job". 12 hours of REAL waork a day("NOT a "token" job, btw) would be so exhausting that one woul.d do little more than come home and drop in bed, every night. Money may be important, but NOT so important that you work so much you have no time to spend it, or no time to spend with the family. (of course, in such cases, most women of that kind do not have children, as they would get in the way of the "career").

I guess in the movie (which I have NOT seen, btw) She finds out that there is a bit more to life than work and career.

I painted my guest bath today!

It was puke green,
now it's puke yellow.

I clearly have more work to do.

Well, I can try to participate between weapons checks; folks never schedule coups at convenient times. Some people never realise how long it takes to acquire inventory.

"How long does it take?"

Depends on the job and the needs of the customer.
This dude wants more than just a few AKs and RPGs. I gotta fake the shipping orders for personnel carriers so that they are shipped as "farm tractors".

It's more like a "concept" problem.

Like the concept that the tree in my yard is there because I want it there.

The concept that the old shed is there to cover the lawn mower.

The concept that speed limits on the highways are there to keep him from plowing over smaller cars.

:)

Irish Car Bomb:

One glass of Guinness

One shot of Bailey's Irish Creme

Drop the shot into the glass of Guinness and drink - rapidly.

Personally, I think that it is a waste of good Guinness.
