Asked by reporters whether an Israeli ground invasion of Lebanon is inevitable, US President Joe Biden responds, “It’s time for a ceasefire.” On Friday, a senior Israeli official briefing foreign reporters on the IDF strike targeting Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said Jerusalem took the step with the hope that it would allow it to avoid having to launch a ground invasion.

A video published by the Israeli military showed that planes it said were used in the attack that killed Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, on Friday night carried 2,000-pound bombs, according to munitions experts and a New York Times analysis. The video showed eight planes fitted with at least 15 2,000-pound bombs, including the American-manufactured BLU-109 with a JDAM kit, a precision guidance system that attaches to bombs, according to Trevor Ball, a former U.S. Army explosive ordnance disposal technician. These bombs, a type of munition known as bunker busters, can penetrate underground before detonating. In May, the Biden administration announced...

President Joe Biden issued a statement on Saturday welcoming the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike, but repeating his call for ceasefire deals in Gaza and Lebanon, despite Israel’s advance toward victory. The full text of Biden’s statement is as follows: Hassan Nasrallah and the terrorist group he led, Hezbollah, were responsible for killing hundreds of Americans over a four-decade reign of terror. His death from an Israeli airstrike is a measure of justice for his many victims, including thousands of Americans, Israelis, and Lebanese civilians.

Iran’s terror-supporting Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was moved to a secure location on Saturday, even as he urged the Muslim world to “stand by” Lebanon and Hezbollah following Israel’s killing of Hassan Nasrallah. Presumed next on Israel’s target list after the deaths of the leaders of both Hezbollah and Hamas — the latter inside Iran in July — Khamenei, 85, was moved to an undisclosed location in Iran with heightened security efforts in place, according to two regional officials briefed by Tehran. Iran is in constant contact with Hezbollah in Lebanon and other regional proxy groups as it works...

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed his nation on Saturday night, telling them that the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was a victory for Israel and a warning to Iran. Netanyahu, speaking in Hebrew, said that Nasrallah was not just “a” terrorist, but “the” terrorist, responsible for the deaths not just of Israelis but also of many American and French citizens, among others.

Israel launched fresh strikes on Beirut again this afternoon after killing Hezbollah boss Hassan Nasrallah and a senior Iranian commander in an attack on Friday that has rocked the region and threatens drastic escalation. The Israeli military said late Saturday afternoon it had carried out an air strike in the Dahieh area of Beirut - the same district targeted in the strike on Hezbollah's headquarters in the city yesterday. Israeli military chief Herzi Halevi acknowledged that 'challenging days await' for Israel after confirming the death of Hezbollah's secretary-general, with Iran and Hezbollah's allies vowing revenge. 'We are determined to...

The IDF has said it has eliminated Hezbollah Leader Hassan Nasrallah. This follows Israel’s strike on Beirut targeting Hezbollah leadership.

On Friday morning, we reported on the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) attack on Hezbollah headquarters, the primary goal of which was the removal of Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah. The IDF and the Israeli government, it has been reported, did not notify the United States of their intentions in advance of their attack on Hezbollah headquarters in Lebanon. This begs the question: Why should they? The United States had no advance warning of an Israeli strike in Beirut and U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke with his Israeli counterpart as it was ongoing, a Pentagon spokesperson said on Friday. They were the U.S....

In a world of tight schedules, high-pressure talks, and scrutinised speeches, it seems even prime ministers aren’t immune to the occasional slip of the tongue. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer delivered one such blunder that’s been making headlines far and wide. During a Labour conference speech intended to address serious global matters, Starmer made an unfortunate error: while discussing the Gaza crisis, he mistakenly referred to “sausages” instead of “hostages.” The mistake sent waves of surprise and amusement across audiences. Keir Starmer’s refers to hostages as ‘sausages’ during speech It all happened during what was meant to be a sober...

The eliminated terrorists include Qabisi's deputy, Abbas Ibrahim Sharaf Ad-Din, and an additional senior terrorist from Hezbollah's missile unit, Hussein Hany, who was close to Fuad Shukr, Hezbollah's most senior military commander and the head of its Strategic Unit, who was eliminated in July. No more diplomatic games from Biden and Blinken.. Biden has seen enough. On Sept. 26, the United States joined nine other countries and the European Union to demand a three-week ceasefire across the Lebanon-Israel border. "It is time," the group said in a statement, "to conclude a diplomatic settlement that enables civilians on both sides of the border to return to their homes in safety." I've consumed a lot of multilateral mush during the Biden years. Never have I encountered a statement as disingenuous, deluded, and feckless as this. Notice who signed it: the United States, Australia, Canada, the EU,...

White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby was asked on Thursday about comments by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejecting the US and France’s proposal for a ceasefire in Lebanon. “We would not have made the statement if we had doubts that the talks with the Israelis were positive,” Kirby stated. “Netanyahu should be asked if he retracted his agreement. I can only say that, based on the conversations last night, we had every reason to believe that he was sincere in his intentions,” he added. Earlier, after landing in New York ahead of his address to the UN General...

An FBI whistleblower has issued a chilling warning to the American people while testifying before U.S. Congress. Veteran FBI staff operations specialist Marcus Allen was called a witness during the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Weaponization of the Federal Government hearing on Wednesday. During a powerful and emotional statement to his fellow Americans, Allen urged “brothers and sisters of all faiths” to “pray” and stock up on food, water, guns, and ammunition. Fighting back tears, he also advised citizens to connect with “three to four friends in your neighborhood and promise to come to each other’s mutual aid.” Allen issued the...

Lest the world forget, a war is still raging in Gaza. Among the many obstacles to even a modest cease-fire, there is the Philadelphi corridor. Less than nine miles long and roughly as wide as a football field, it occupies a crucial border location — including the Rafah crossing — between Egypt and Gaza. Egypt patrolled its side of the border after the 1979 peace agreement, then the Palestinian Authority took over control when Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005. But the PA was itself driven out by Hamas in 2007. Since then, the Rafah crossing has been a central...
