Update (2130ET): Add Toyota Motor Corp. and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., the world's largest battery maker, to the growing list of companies shutting down factories in China's Sichuan province as a drought-induced power crisis worsens, according to Bloomberg. Toyota closed its plant in the provincial capital of Chengdu until Saturday, a company spokesperson said, while Contemporary Amperex halted operations at its lithium battery factory in Yibin. Sichuan is one of China's most populated provinces, with 80 million inhabitants, and is home to a major manufacturing hub heavily reliant on hydropower. However, a heatwave and drought have caused reservoir levels to...

The near vertiginous rise in the annual growth of coral at the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) is continuing, with further major increases recorded across large areas.According to the 2021-22 annual summary from the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), levels of coral cover in the northern and central areas of the reef were at their highest levels over the past 36 years of monitoring. The growth is of course excellent news for environmentalists, but curiously, at the time of writing, the news is being downplayed in the mainstream media. The demise of the world’s coral reefs has long been a go-to...

As of Thursday morning (LT), August 4, 2022, over 540 000 residents living in the Tohoku and Hokuriku regions of Japan were ordered to evacuate as heavy rains continue falling over the Sea of Japan shoreline, triggering floods and landslides. Evacuation orders are in effect in Aomori, Iwate, Yamagata, Fukushima, Niigata, Ishikawa and Fukui prefectures on August 4. Several people are missing. According to the country’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the Mogami River in Nagai, Yamagata Prefecture, overflowed its banks in the early hours of Thursday, flooding homes, roads and railways. At least two bridges have already...

Another beautiful, conservative area is being destroyed by wildfire. Much of the problem is mismanagement and much of it is arson fueled by ignorance and hatred from the left. They like fire! On Sunday, July 31, 2022, at approximately 9:57 a.m., fire personnel located two deceased individuals inside a vehicle that was burned in the path of the #McKinneyFire. The vehicle was located in a residential driveway along Doggett Creek Road, which is off of Highway 96, west of the community of Klamath River, California. **There will be no additional information pending positive identification and notifications to next-of-kin.** ADDITIONAL FIRE...

Heavy rains caused widespread flooding and destruction in eastern Kentucky on Thursday, July 28, 2022, leaving at least 25 people dead and many unaccounted for. Kentucky Governor, Andy Beshear, declared a state of emergency, calling this one of the most significant, deadly floods in the commonwealth’s history. The death toll rose to 25 on July 30, up from 16 on July 29. Unfortunately, officials fear the death toll will keep growing, possibly for weeks as rescue efforts continue across hard-to-reach areas. Local emergency was declared in the city of Hazard, and in the counties of Floyd, Breathitt, Clay, Owsley, Letcher,...

The left has tried every trick in their “global warming” bible to convince the majority of Americans that climate change is not only real, but it’s also urgent. Or, as Special Presidential Envoy for Climate [ROFL emoji] John Kerry and other “climate change” loons love to say, with great drama: the existential threat of mankind.Considering that “existential” refers to existence (hence, the very existence or extinction of mankind), climate change loons like world-renowned climatologist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — who has literally said, “The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change” — continue to...

Blog/Corruption Posted Jul 22, 2022 by Martin Armstrong Spread the love Our models have been indicating a decline in both the food and water supply, which go hand-in-hand. Other analysts are coming out to warn that the inevitable cycle is underway. Climate engineering researcher Dane Wigington believes the cycle has been propelled forward by manmade forces. “The mainstream media and official sources are doing their best to sweep it under the rug. We are talking about 40 million people that will be impacted by the drying out of the Colorado River basin and tributaries.” Interviewer Greg Hunter plainly asked Wigington...

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's effort to reduce pollutants by banning chemical fertilizers has had devastating impacts on his nation's economy. Inflation has shot up to a 50% annual rate. Food prices are up 80%. Transportation costs are up by 128%. A hungry and angry population is demonstrating against the government. Troops have been called out to suppress the discontent. Rajapaksa's dream of replacing chemical fertilizers with manure and return to fully organic farming ignores the superior performance of chemical fertilizers and the downside of his "all-natural" future. "We want a society where environmental and social justice goals supplant the profit-motive for...

It has been a busy time for solar activity. Back in March of 2022, Earth was hit by separate geomagnetic storms, according to government weather agencies in the U.S. and the U.K. Though the geomagnetic storms likely didn't cause any harm, they brought into focus the potential harm that could come from more powerful storms in the future. Then earlier this month, a G1-class geomagnetic storm hit the Earth, causing bright auroras over Canada. The only problem is that nobody saw this storm coming until it was quite late. Five days ago, a giant sunspot and filaments on the solar...

Though he has promised to end fossil fuels, President Biden now threatens to use emergency war powers to commandeer the assets of oil producers located in the US. Brushing aside the steps he's already taken to reduce the supply of energy in this country by cancelling the Keystone Pipeline and numerous new drilling leases, Biden asserted that "I'm giving oil producers one last chance to do the right thing." ExxonMobil CEO Darren Woods pointed out that "our company has invested $118 billion on new oil and gas supplies over the past five years. We have made the necessary expenditures and...

A massive spill of an unknown substance has been detected in the Baltic Sea, off the coast of Sweden. According to the Swedish Coast Guard, who detected the spill on June 8, the affected surface area is 77 km2 (30 mi2) and is located in both Swedish and Finnish waters. “What the spill consists of is still not clear but it is not mineral oil, and there is currently no immediate threat of landfall,” the coast guard said. It said it had mapped the spill using planes and also collected samples, adding that it would not be able to comment...

In an apparent backdoor effort to tax meat, the burps and farts of cattle and sheep are set to be taxed by the leftist government of New Zealand in a bid to, they claim, save the world. The left-wing Labour government of Jacinda Ardern has drafted proposals to levy taxes against farmers for the methane emissions produced by cows and sheep in what would be the world’s first green tax on livestock. “There is no question that we need to cut the amount of methane we are putting into the atmosphere, and an effective emissions pricing system for agriculture will...

In a speech to the graduating class of the US Naval Academy, President Biden revealed that in 1965 Sen. Senator J. Caleb Boggs (R-Del) signed a letter recommending him for admission to the Naval Academy. Biden said he decided not to go to the Academy because his desire to play starting quarterback on the football team was blocked by Roger Staubach—the greatest player to ever play for Navy and later MVP for the Superbowl winning Dallas Cowboys. Biden played football in high school, but graduated from the University of Delaware in 1965 with no varsity football experience. In a speech...

Lake Mead is a reservoir is Nevada and Arizona, relied upon for example by the city of Las Vegas for drinking water. Last year, its water level was significantly lower than previous years. This year, it’s even lower. This is dramatic… If the trend does continue for the next two decades as it has been going on for the past two, it seems like things aren’t looking optimal for the Colorado river, the largest water reservoir by capacty in the US, and the Hoover Dam hydroelectric power plant. Lake Mead fell about 7 feet in May. I expect June will...

  • Emergency Radio Advice for the 2022 Summer Blackout Season

With a lot of headlines warning of electrical blackouts this summer, I was looking for a reliable, decent, portable emergency radio. I've seen a number of them online, but I don't trust the reviews. Many of the reviews are praising a cheap unit, or whining why a $30 radio doesn't perform like a $1000 one. Any input or discussion would be appreciated. I did a search, but I didn't see this topic.

A recently completed National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration study found that a 50% decrease in air pollution particulates led to a 33% increase in Atlantic hurricanes. NOAA hurricane scientist Hiroyuki Murakami explained that "hurricanes need warm water to fuel them. The sun-blocking effects of particulates lower the temperature and act to reduce the quantity of warm water. Ironically, our successful effort to clear the air of these pollutants has made hurricanes worse." Biden's EPA Administrator Michael Regan called the effects "transitory. The potential for air pollutants coming out of China should more than make up for the reductions achieved in...

A bright fireball was seen over the southwestern United Kingdom at 20:46 UTC on May 16, 2022. The event comes just five days after a very bright fireball was seen over the same region. Interestingly, both events had very similar trajectories. The American Meteor Society (AMS) and International Meteor Organization (IMO) together with UKMON (UK), Werkgroep Meteoren (NL), and Vigie-Ciel (FR) received more than 800 reports, mainly from England and Wales.2 The ground trajectory computed from the witness reports shows that the meteor was traveling from SW to NE and ended its visible flight over southern England.
