The New York Times has broken ranks with the the establishment media, publishing an effective mea culpa over the mainstream denial of migrant-related gang crime in Sweden. The paper — which previously mocked President Trump for highlighting Sweden’s migrant crime problems — published over 1,500 words on the subject in its Sunday edition this weekend, stating: Weapons from a faraway, long-ago war are flowing into immigrant neighborhoods here, puncturing Swedes’ sense of confidence and security. The country’s murder rate remains low, by American standards, and violent crime is stable or dropping in many places. But gang-related assaults and shootings are...

Zero tolerance for weapons lunacy isn’t limited to grade schools. In colleges, the time-honored sport of fencing may take it in the heart: The newly formed fencing club at North Dakota State University (NDSU) cannot practice on campus thanks to the university’s weapons policy. “The current interpretation of the non-weapon policy in NDSU…understands our fencing equipment as weapons,” Enrique Alvarez, the club’s coach, told Valley News Live. The swords the club uses have no sharp points or blades. The tips are flat and spring-loaded. Still, the university deems them weapons; as such, possession or use of the swords is prohibited...

Not a lethal weapon I’ve done some fencing and I can tell you that the “weapons” involved are to actual blades as cap guns are to rifles. The most dangerous thing about them is the risk of the tip snapping off and hitting someone. It’s more of a risk in North Dakota where it gets really cold. But zero tolerance insanity has taken over every campus. “The current interpretation of the non-weapon policy in North Dakota State University (NDSU) …understands our fencing equipment as weapons,” says the club’s coach Enrique Alvarez.Alvarez has been fencing since his early teens. He says despite their...

Police have revealed the chilling array of deadly weapons they seized in just four months - including a crossbow and a traditional samurai sword. The fearsome arsenal, which even includes a gold-plated axe, was put on display yesterday by West Midlands Police as part of a new anti-weapons campaign. Other dangerous arms featured in the grim haul are nunchuks, knuckle dusters, a giant flick knife and crude planks of wood with nails hammered into them. The force, which is the UK's second largest, has launched its campaign alongside doctors and the families of victims of knife crime. Superintendent Basit Javid...

Disclaimer: I don't have much knowledge about high-powered weapons, so there's that...but, this week, Obama told the National Urban League that AK-47s belong in the hands of soldiers, not in the hands of criminals." He knows more about the weapons used by Third World foreign armies and jihadists, than about our own military. Photo: AK-47 However, U.S. military does not generally use the AD-47, a weapon originally developed in the Soviet Union that was subsequently adopted by many other communist states. The AK-47 also became the weapon of choice for guerilla armies and terrorist groups. Today, AK-47s are typically to...
  • On weapons ban, Nugent’s unsupportable timeline

Folks, Tom Jackson over at the Tampa Tribune did some great investigative research about Rich Nugent's Gun Ban answer the other day. Friends, let me state this bluntly: Rich Nugent is a lying, squirming, self-aggrandizing politician. He will lie about anything. He has been caught several times displaying no integrity. Don't we care about a candidates' integrity anymore? We cannot afford to believe these congress critters at face value anymore. It is imperative that who hold them to a higher standard of integrity. THE evolution in public policy concerning the manufacture, sale and possession of semiautomatic assault weapons like AK-47s, AR-15s and Uzis has been very disturbing. Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and I all supported a ban on these formidable firearms, and one was finally passed in 1994. When the 10-year ban was set to expire, many police organizations — including 1,100 police chiefs and sheriffs from around the nation — called on Congress and President George W. Bush to renew and strengthen it. But with a wink from the White House, the gun lobby prevailed and the ban...

On November 7, the New York Times reported that "sales of handguns, rifles and ammunition have surged in the last week, according to gun store owners across the nation who describe a wave of buyers concerned that an Obama administration will curtail their right to bear arms." Buyers were stocking up on guns because during his time as an Illinois state senator, Obama earned a reputation as being as virulently antigun as one can get. Rich Pearson, longtime chief lobbyist for the Illinois State Rifle Association, released an open letter to sportsmen in October about Obama, saying, "I lobbied Barack...

  • Can you modify an AR 10T to make it legal in CA

    11/13/2005 12:59:25 AM PST · by vitalemj · 17 replies · 1,973+ views
I'm looking at buying an AR-10T but live in CA. It seems all info I find says you can't own a weapon with a detachable magazine and a pistol grip. The new bushmasters AR-15's have a lower receiver with the magazine well blocked off and a 10 round magazine welded in. Is there any law stating you can't have a qualified gunsmith weld the magazine (six round) in the lower receiver so it functions the same as a these new CA legal lower receivers? I would appreciate anyone with any knowledge, and hopefully documentation, either for against this procedure. Thanks,...

The Oregon State Legislature will soon be considering a bill that would outlaw semiautomatic "assault rifles" and large-capacity magazines and require registration of these items purchased before the bill's effective date. However, any attempt to prohibit an individual citizen's right to own a firearm represents a gross misunderstanding not only of U.S. Constitutional Law, but also of the basic principles of human nature that caused the Framers to specifically pronounce that right in the Second Amendment to the Constitution. Every constitutional scholar recognizes that the Framers composed the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution as a reaction to the...

Despite pushing for bans against so-called assault weapons, Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry now admits he owns a "Communist Chinese assault rifle.'' ''My favorite gun is the M-16 that saved my life and that of my crew in Vietnam,'' Kerry told Outdoor Life magazine for its October issue. ''I don't own one of those now, but one of my reminders of my service is a Communist Chinese assault rifle.'' When asked by the New York Times for more information about the weapon, Kerry spokesman Michael Meehan said Kerry was a registered gun owner in Massachusetts. Meehan said Thursday he was...

We have had a lot of questions recently about what guns can now be purchased in California that were previously banned under the Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994.The answer to that is very simple. It has absolutely no affect on California law. Here's how gun laws work in order of priority and precedent. Second Amendment: "... the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."Federal Gun Laws: Infringes on the Second AmendmentCalifornia State Gun Laws: Supercedes Federal Gun Laws and further infringesCalifornia Regulatory Agencies (Cal DOJ): Interprets and implements California State Gun Laws No, you cannot purchase...

BAGHDAD — Iraq's new U.S. overseer took a major step yesterday toward disarming Iraq, formally dissolving Saddam Hussein's Defense Ministry and disbanding the Republican Guard and the once-mighty Iraqi army.

Coalition authorities are also readying a directive that will attempt to control the flood of weapons that swamped Baghdad and other urban areas in the months before the war. That order will ban the possession of heavy firearms and munitions, except by coalition forces and the Kurdish "peshmerga" militia fighters, U.S. allies in the drive to oust Saddam.

On September 13th 1994, HR4296, the so-called Assault Weapon's Ban, was signed into law. Under the guise of reducing crime, it outlawed future manufacture and importation of several specific firearms, and arbitrarily limited choice features of all future firearms eligible for sale in the United States. Proponents of the bill touted military look-alike rifles as "dangerous weapons of mass destruction" in an effort to win public support for an outright ban on such "evil" features as bayonet lugs, folding stocks, and curved magazines. While they may have succeeded in convincing a narrow majority of legislators to vote in favor of...
