Seven very BIG reasons to vote Republican tomorrow: 1) The war against global jihadism. There is no reason whatsoever to trust the Democrat Party with our national security against the global jihadists. They don't even recognize the threat, much less possess the spine to actually fight the enemy. And the cut and run Democrat Party will not stop at surrender. Make no bones about it, their overall objective includes making the US completely defenseless. 2) The ongoing battle for the constitution and against liberal judicial activism. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to trust the liberal/socialist Democrat Party with majority...

Boise, Idaho -- Police arrested 24-year old Michael Burkett of Boise early Sunday morning after officers with Capitol Mall Security reported spotting him vandalizing two flag polls on the grounds of the Idaho Statehouse. The flags are memorials to soldiers who lost their lives in the war on terror. "It's certainly upsetting, not just to officers but for any citizen of this county who knows somebody who lost their lives in Iraq or Afghanistan," Lt. Ron Winegar said of the ongoing investigation. Burkett was charged with resisting arrest and Malicious Injury to Property. He and his 22-year-old brother, Tom Burkett,...

Please vote Republican tomorrow -- and bring every Republican you can to the polls with you -- because there is still hope for a Republican victory! Take a look at the graph below. It shows that the gap between those who say they are voting Republican and those who say they are voting Democrat has been narrowing very rapidly. This happens in almost every election. In his victorious race against Mario Cuomo for Governor of New York, the polls on the Friday before Election Day had George Pataki down by 10 points. But Pataki ended up winning. In her...

November 06, 2006, 7:15 a.m. To Vote Or Not To VoteA tough call for conservatives. By John Derbyshire Of course, it is not a matter of simply “staying home.†I shall be voting not only for my U.S. senator and representative, but also for a state senator and assemblyman, a county clerk and comptroller, and a town councilcritter. You probably have a similar array of positions to vote for. By all means do the best you can for your state and district. Whether or not it is the case that all politics is local, it is certainly the case...

...but even a win means some dark days ahead, especially at Thanksgiving dinner! First, some excellent news. If you want to hold Congress, all you have to do is vote. The party of presidents in their sixth year almost always lose some seats. But we can hold both houses if we turn out. The MSM have been doing their level best to dampen our enthusiasm, and hence our turnout. Don't let them get away with it. Many of the pollsters are trying to do the same thing, by conducting polls wherein Democrats are disproportionately oversampled. Don't let them get away...

“Republicans are feeling guilty about what’s going on in the world, but we are liberators,” said Muhammad Ali Hasan. “Right now, there’s nothing more important than for the Republicans to hold on to all three houses of government. If you’re a Republican today, you’re a hero.” With Republicans in power, Hasan, 26, said the relationship between America and Muslim nations will improve, Iraq will be stabilized and democracy and freedom will flourish in the Middle East. As with every meeting of the Republican women’s group, things got started with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer — a Christian prayer....

If Democrats take Congress tomorrow, hide your wallet. Tax hikes and spending increases are right around the corner. A Democratic House of Representatives most likely would feature California’s Nancy Pelosi as speaker and New York’s Charles Rangel as chairman of the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee. Pelosi and Rangel rarely have met a tax they didn’t love. In fact, they are remarkably candid about their dreams of shaking down taxpayers. As David Espo of the Associated Press reported October 5, Pelosi wants to roll back President Bush’s tax cuts and restore higher, Clinton-era rates for wage earners above “a certain...

It’s vital to the base, it’s helped Republicans win in the past — so why are they ignoring it this time around? ...... Allen speaks, he talks about terrorism, but he spends more time — true to the location — talking about crime and public safety. We’re fighting gangs, he says. We’re getting more money for police and fire rescue teams. And, “We abolished that lenient, dishonest parole system in Virginia for violent felons — crime rates are down by 26 percent because of truth in sentencing [and] juvenile justice reforms.” It’s a popular message, but on this day in...

Thoughts from my USO tour to IraqI've just returned from a trip to Iraq after an initial stop in Kuwait with actor Marshall Teague, who you know from films like ''The Rock,'' ''Armageddon,'' and TV programs like, ''Babylon 5,'' ''Sliders,'' and of course ''Walker, Texas Ranger.'' We went to visit and encourage service members as part of a United Service Organization (USO) tour. I'll share some of the inspiring moments in next Monday's article (and maybe a photo or two)! As in past years, I left the region more inspired by our troops than I believe they were by me....

A Look at What Happens if Democrats Win Congress By Deroy Murdock Scripps Howard News Service October 26, 2006 Hypothetically, if Democrats win Congress, don't expect a mild left turn. Watch the U.S. Capitol building spin nearly 180 degrees. Congress' current Republican leadership—their haplessness and profligacy aside—generally feature senators and representatives with solidly conservative vote records. Conversely, minority leaders and ranking Democrats on congressional committees are among their party's staunchest liberals. A Democratic victory on Capitol Hill naturally would involve a jump to the Left. But their steering the ship of state hard aport could toss passengers overboard. Consider the...

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (AP) -- President Bush tried to energize Republicans in Nebraska with a 50-minute speech at the Heartland Events Center this afternoon. Bush told attendees to find fellow Republicans and tell them they have a responsibility to vote on Tuesday. Bush also urged Republicans to seek out discerning Democrats and open-minded independents and explain why they should vote for Smith and Ricketts. To the prognosticators predicting Republicans will lose control of Congress and the Senate, President Bush says not so fast. Bush was in Grand Island this afternoon to rally Republicans and stump for Third District congressional candidate...

Released: November 5, 2006 Summary of Findings A nationwide Pew Research Center survey finds voting intentions shifting in the direction of Republican congressional candidates in the final days of the 2006 midterm campaign. The new survey finds a growing percentage of likely voters saying they will vote for GOP candidates. However, the Democrats still hold a 48% to 40% lead among registered voters, and a modest lead of 47%-43% among likely voters. The narrowing of the Democratic lead raises questions about whether the party will win a large enough share of the popular vote to recapture control of the House...

HELENA - Montanans say they are slightly more likely to vote for Republicans than Democrats in the state's legislative races, a new Gazette State Poll shows. By a margin of five points, 47 percent to 42 percent, voters said they were more likely to vote for Republicans. That edge is greater than the poll's margin of error - plus- or minus-4 points - but not so large that Republicans have a clear lead. Only 11 percent of those surveyed said they weren't sure which party they would support. The split reflects the makeup of the Montana Legislature. Currently, the state's...

Republicans hope that will be one of MANY surprises on election night. They need them. With lots of struggling candidates, the National Republican Senatorial Committee is throwing a $900,000, buzzer-beating lifeline to the Wolverine State and Mike Bouchard, a sheriff who has been running an intense campaign against incumbent Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D), though with little national attention because of her lead in polls and fundraising. "Mike CAN win with the right resources and that's why we are coming in," says NRSC Communications Director Brian Nick. "He's running on the fact that the economy is the worst in the country...

Republicans, This Is Why You MUST Vote!Written by Doc FarmerMonday, November 6 2006ChronWatch.com Tomorrow is Election Day. The miracle provided to you by the Founding Fathers in 1776, and protected and preserved for you by the blood of our best. A miracle that most Americans, sadly, take for granted. Don't be one of those who take it for granted. Especially if you're a rep/con/tair -- my more accurate term for the so-called "right". An amalgam of the core political constructs of Republicans, conservatives and libertarians. For many, many months, you've been told that the lib/dem/soc/commies (my more accurate term for...

It’s difficult to believe that the American left could hunker down even further, under the saturated-with-innocent-blood covers, with terrorists who have unequivocally announced their intentions to destroy us. But, it has. Recently, Bill O’Reilly of ''The Factor'' program, asked leftist celebs Rosie O’Donnell and David Letterman if they wanted the United States of America to win the war against terrorists. Neither would answer. In fact, when O’Reilly commented to Letterman that it was an easy question requiring a simple yes or no answer, instead of answering Letterman said that he was “being thoughtful.†Thoughtful? Letterman has to “think†about whether...
