WASHINGTON, July 1 (Reuters) - The U.S. government voiced concern on Wednesday over actions taken by Niger's President Mamadou Tandja to extend his rule in the West African country. "These decisions undermine Niger's efforts over the last ten years to advance good governance and the rule of law," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said in a statement. Tandja responded to the rejection by Niger's highest court of his plan to seek at least another three years in power by sacking the judges and naming a new Cabinet. ....U.S. concern about the situation in Niger comes at a time when Washington...

A document filed in federal court this week by the Justice Department offers new evidence that former vice president Richard B. Cheney helped steer the Bush administration's public response to the disclosure of Valerie Plame Wilson's employment by the CIA and that he was at the center of many related administration deliberations. The administration's discussion of Wilson's link to the CIA was meant to undermine criticism by her husband of administration allegations that Iraq attempted to acquire uranium, a matter that her husband had probed for the CIA, according to testimony presented in a 2007 trial. *snip* He mentioned in...

VIDEO It is the name that dares not speak its name around Valerie Plame. Although Plame falsely (according to a Washington Post fact check) accused Scooter Libby of leaking her name, the true culprit was Deep State insider Richard Armitage of the State Department. Just the sound of his name makes Valerie Plame very very uncomfortable.

GENEVA (AP) — A Swiss man suspected of being involved in the world's biggest nuclear smuggling ring claims he supplied the CIA with information that led to the breakup of the black market nuclear network led by Pakistani scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan. In a documentary airing Thursday on Swiss TV station SF1, Urs Tinner says he tipped off U.S. intelligence about a delivery of centrifuge parts meant for Libya's nuclear weapons program. The shipment was seized at the Italian port of Taranto in 2003, forcing Libya to admit and eventually renounce its efforts to acquire nuclear weapons. The 43-year-old Tinner...

WALLACE: ...in October of 2002 in which you authorized the use of force, you went further than the president ever did. Let's watch:(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)ROCKEFELLER: I do believe that Iraq poses an imminent threat, but I also believe that after September 11th that question is increasingly outdated.(END VIDEO CLIP)WALLACE: Now, the president never said that Saddam Hussein was an imminent threat. As you saw, you did say that. If anyone hyped the intelligence, isn't it Jay Rockefeller?ROCKEFELLER: No. I mean, this question is asked a thousand times and I'll be happy to answer it a thousand times. I took a...

Former CIA operative Valerie Plame, who has launched a Democratic run for Congress in New Mexico, raised nearly $450,000 last quarter, nearly double her total from the previous filing period. Plame's campaign said in a Monday statement that it raised $446,749 between July 1 and Sept. 30 from more than 16,600 individual donors. The average donation was $26.87. The campaign has raised a total of more than $683,000 since Plame announced she was running for Congress in May. “It’s encouraging to see all the thousands of supporters who want to be a part of this team and agree with our...

VIDEO Valerie Plame, who is now running for Congress, is one of those hyping the witch hunt against Trump based on SECOND HAND information from a supposed whistle blower. Plame knows a lot about witch hunts since she is the Poster Girl of witch hunts due to her role in the long investigation by Patrick Fitzgerald into finding the identity of the person who leaked her name to columnist Robert Novak. Fitzgerald knew the name of the perp within days of beginning his investigation but because the person turned out to be a Deep State State Department insider, Fitzgerald...

Joseph C. Wilson, the long-serving American diplomat whose clash with the administration of President George W. Bush in 2003 led to the unmasking of his wife at the time, Valerie Plame, as a C.I.A. agent, resulting in accusations that the revelation was political payback, died on Friday at his home in Santa Fe, N.M. He was 69. Ms. Plame said the cause was organ failure.

Tweet blaming Jews for wars follows her effort to block Trump from Twitter for “hate speech.” Valerie Plame, who was outed in a press leak as an undercover CIA operative during former President George W. Bush’s administration, soon became a darling of the Left for her anti-Bush stance. She was able to successfully portray herself as the victim of neo-conservatives’ payback for what her husband, former ambassador Joseph Wilson, did in publicly challenging the Bush administration’s explanation for invading Iraq. Ms. Plame has not dropped out of sight. She campaigned for Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election cycle and...

Valerie Plame had to know what she was tweeting. Plame retweeted a virulently antisemitic article by a well-known bigot, which she characterized as “thoughtful.” Now she’s trying to make excuses, but they don’t wash. The article itself, by Phillip Giraldi, contains the usual antisemitic tropes: Jews are guilty of dual loyalty; they control politicians, the media and entertainment; they want the US to fight wars for the country to which they have real allegiance – Israel; they are dangerous to America. Giraldi has been pushing this garbage for years and Plame is one of his fans. But this particular article...

Valerie Plame had to know what she was doing. The unmasked former CIA officer retweeted a virulently anti-Semitic article by a well-known bigot on the Jewish High Holy Day of Rosh Hashanah, which she characterized as “thoughtful.” Now she's trying to make excuses, but they don't wash. The retweeted article by Phillip Giraldi itself contains the usual anti-Semitic tropes: Jews are guilty of dual loyalty; they control politicians, the media and entertainment; they want the U.S. to fight wars for the country to which they have real allegiance – Israel; they are dangerous to America. Giraldi has been pushing this...

Valerie Plame Wilson, the former CIA agent at the center of a Bush administration faux scandal about the Iraq war that made her a cause célèbre for liberals, tweeted a virulent anti-Semitic article Thursday morning titled, “America’s Jews Are Driving America’s Wars”, that calls for Jews to be labeled on TV like a “warning label on a bottle of rat poison.”

Jeb Bush: wannabe Arab killer and torturer. That was the portrait of the prospective Republican presidential candidate that Joe Wilson, husband of former CIA employee Valerie Plame, has painted. Appearing on Chris Hayes's MSNBC show this evening, Wilson claimed that the "conclusion you come to," looking at his foreign policy advisers, is that Jeb's plan is "to kill all Arabs we find on the streets," and if we can't kill them, "to torture them." I called former covert CIA operations officer Valerie Plame in Santa Fe last week to ask if I had reason to be anxious about the way something that in the context of history is so minor – an assassination in Serbia, a small civil war in Ukraine – can spin so out of control. “Other than the annihilation of the human race through miscalculation or mistake?” she replied. “Yes, the summer has been full of terrible news. This is an issue that because it is so big and truly existential in nature, we tend not to be able to absorb...

'That's why I'm not on Twitter anymore' Democratic congressional candidate Valerie Plame (N.M.) blamed social media, specifically Twitter, on Monday night for why she interacted with an anti-Semitic website in 2017. Plame appeared on CNN's Cuomo Prime Time to discuss her official campaign launch as she runs for New Mexico's open Third Congressional District seat. After talking about her new campaign ad, host Chris Cuomo pressed Plame in a series of questions about sharing articles from the fringe site UNZ Review in September 2017, including one accusing "American Jews" of "driving America's wars." "You have retweeted or shown interest in...

'Mr. President, I've got a few scores to settle' Democratic congressional candidate Valerie Plame's (N.M.) campaign on Monday released a new ad, where she ended it with a message of having a "few scores to settle." The ad, which is titled, "Undercover," shows liberal activist and ex-CIA operative Plame driving a Chevy Camaro backwards on an empty road in rural New Mexico while narrating her background throughout the ad. "I was an undercover CIA operative. My assignment was preventing rogue states and terrorists from getting nuclear weapons. You name a hot spot, I lived it," Plame said, as Iran, Iraq,...

The Washington Post "Fact Checker" column gave former CIA operative and current Democratic New Mexico congressional candidate Valerie Plame three "Pinocchios" for her claim that former George W. Bush administration official I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby leaked her identity. Plame blamed Libby for the leak in a campaign ad released Monday, but according to the Post's fact-check, there is no evidence he disclosed her role to columnist Robert Novak. Novak wrote the piece that reported that Plame, identified as a CIA operative, suggested sending her husband, Joe Wilson, to Niger to look into a report that Saddam Hussein had sought uranium...

Two things stand out in this new ad from Valerie Plame, who is running for Congress as a Democrat in New Mexico. She declares, “Dick Cheney’s Chief of Staff took revenge against my husband and leaked my identity. His name? Scooter Libby.” This is false. Former deputy secretary of state Richard Armitage acknowledged in 2006 that he was the source who first revealed the identity of CIA officer Valerie Plame to syndicated columnist Robert Novak back in 2003.(snip) Plame then declares, “I come from Ukrainian Jewish immigrants.” This is no doubt meant to be a shield against those who would...

It was a dark and stormy night. I was sitting back in the Mad Mammoth study, reviewing the latest threads on Free Republic, when my MSN Messenger icon barked that I had an email waiting. I went to my InBox. What did I find? I had a very angry email from some schnook called 'lcjohnso' taking me to task for some long forgotten post I made on FR. Called me out. Wanted my address. Wanted to visit me with a bunch of his pals "anytime, anyplace", I'm wondering to myself "WTF is this nonsense?" So I responded in a fairly...
