Meanwhile, authorities said there was no bomb found in Roseberry’s truck, but they did find suspected bomb-making materials.....

Saturday, 7-17-2021, at 9 a.m., thieves stole a 1 ton truck from my friend's oilfield service business east of Austin, TX. My friend was home and did not notice the brazen theft right under his nose. He noticed Monday morning when his crews needed the truck for work. The GPS unit hidden in the truck allowed him to find it in Austin where it had been stripped of all equipment/tools on the bed and left near a homeless encampment. The police were not eager to enter that area according to my friend. He was only able to recover what was...

President Biden on Tuesday drove the new F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck on a Michigan test track — and jokingly threatened to run over reporters if they asked about the conflict in Gaza. Biden, in the driver’s seat, said through an open side window, “This sucker’s quick.” The unscheduled test drive followed indoor remarks at a Ford facility in which Biden pushed for federal subsidies for electric vehicles.

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) - Deputies say a man stole a vehicle just 13 minutes after he was released from criminal custody in Napa County Friday. The Napa County Police Department said 35-year-old Trevor Anderson was in custody for vehicle theft, burglary, identity theft, and drug-related charges by the Napa County Sheriff’s Office. He was released Friday under the emergency zero bail order, but police say almost immediately after his release, Anderson stole a truck and led officers on a pursuit from Napa to Fairfield. Sheriff’s deputies deployed spike strips during the chase to flatten the truck’s tire, but Anderson reportedly drove...

The Trump administration eased rules Thursday that limit working hours for truck drivers, and the changes brought immediate protests from labor and safety groups. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration extended the maximum working day for short-haul drivers from 12 hours to 14 hours and expanded how far they can drive in a day. The agency said this will let truckers make more deliveries. For long-haul drivers, the regulator will let work other than driving - such as loading or unloading, filling out paperwork, or communicating with an employer or customer - count toward a mandatory 30-minute break after eight...

A Chilean island resident was arrested on March 1 after his truck... crashed into one of the stone figures and badly damaged both it and the ahu, or platform, it was perched on. Local authorities believe that the accident was caused by brake failure that caused his truck to slide downhill. On the island, which is known as Hanga Roa by its native Rapa Nui people, the enormous stone heads called moai have long been a source of intrigue and wonder. In 2019, Jo Anne Van Tilburg, Director of the Easter Island Statue Project, told CNN Travel that bad tourist...

A Silicon Valley startup has completed what appears to be the first commercial freight cross-country trip by an autonomous truck, which finished a 2,800-mile-run from Tulare, California to Quakertown, Pennsylvania for Land O’Lakes in under three days. The trip was smooth like butter, 40,000 pounds of it. Plus.ai, a 3-year-old company in Cupertino, announced the milestone Tuesday. A safety driver was aboard the autonomous semi, ready to take the wheel if needed, along with a safety engineer who observed how things were going. “We wanted to demonstrate the safety, reliability and maturity of our overall system,” said Shawn Kerrigan, co-founder...

British police have said that all 39 people who were found dead in a truck in a UK industrial park on Wednesday were Chinese nationals. Their cause of death has yet to be established, the police added, as they “must undergo a full coroner’s process … before we move on to attempting to identify each individual within the trailer. This will be a substantial operation and, at this stage, we cannot estimate how long these procedures will take.” On Wednesday, 25-year-old Northern Irish truck driver, Morris Robinson, was arrested on suspicion of murder after a truck, originating from Northern Ireland,...

At 87, Randall Pitman is driving a truck that's older than he is. But much like its owner, Pitman's beloved 1927 Ford Model T still has a lot of mileage left in it. This weekend, the pair will cover more than 600 kilometres winding from Pitman's South Ohio, N.S., home to a vintage truck show in Crapaud, P.E.I., that's expected to draw hundreds of vehicles and their admirers. This time, the truck will travel on a flatbed, but Pitman has driven it that far in years past. While he could find replacement parts and fix the antique himself if it...
