One shining beacon of light, however, has been Mike Rowe; former host of Dirty Jobs, and outspoken American whose views don’t always line up with the liberal media’s. The problem is, unlike some of the other blathering idiots that we are forced to endure on television, Rowe is eloquent, thoughtful, fair, and honest. Those traits are so unforgivably rare these days that even the left-leaning media cannot deny what he has to say. Now, 17 years to the day removed from one of our darkest hours, Mike Rowe has spoken again, and he’s made a suggestion that the nation can...

This article was originally published as "I Found My Dad...Too Late" in the December 2007 issue of Cosmopolitan. After searching for her birth father, Mariah Mills was shocked to learn his famous identity -- and devastated to find out he'd died I've always known I was adopted. PITTSBURGH (AP) - The father of a man killed when hijacked Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, 2001, wants his son's name withheld from a victims memorial because of renewed concerns that its design is centered around Islamic symbolism. Tom Burnett Sr. served on a jury that picked the winning design, originally named "Crescent of Embrace," and said the request was "something I'd rather not do, but I can't get anyone to listen." Burnett's son, Thomas E. Burnett Jr., 38, died along with 39 other passengers and crew when Flight 93 was hijacked and crashed into a field...

ST. PAUL, Minn. - While searching for her birth parents two years ago, Mariah Mills found more than she bargained for: A hero of Sept. 11, 2001. Deena Burnett's talk at St. Mary's College stresses importance of remembering 9/11 MORAGA — San Ramon native Deena Burnett returned to the Bay Area from her home in Arkansas on Wednesday to share with college students her experiences on Sept 11, 2001, and to remind Americans freedom is worth fighting for. By Julie Carroll 9/6/2006 The Catholic Spirit ST. PAUL, Minn. (The Catholic Spirit) - Minnesota native Thomas Burnett Jr. once told his wife, Deena, that he believed God had a message for him. At the time, Burnett didn’t know what the message was, but he told his wife, “I know it will impact a great number of people, and it has something to do with the White House.” On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, Burnett’s words proved prophetic as the hijacked airplane he was on, presumably targeting the White House, crashed in a rural Pennsylvania field. Voice recordings recovered...

The widow of Tom Burnett, who helped lead the passenger revolt on hijacked Flight 93, says in a new book that he had struggled to figure out what he believed was a message from God that might have presaged the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Deena Burnett wrote that a year before the attacks, her husband, who rarely spoke openly about his faith, told her he'd been attending Mass daily to try to understand a message from God that had "something to do with the White House." He told her he hadn't figured it out, "but I know it will impact...

"He just felt that whatever God's plan was for him, it had something to do with the White House and was going to impact a lot of people." A report in Newsmax states: "In a startling interview with Michael H. Brown, publisher of Spirit Daily, Deena Burnett, widow of the Flight 93 passenger Thomas Burnett, recalled that both she and her husband had premonitions about Tom's early death." Burnett, according to his wife, had come back to church after "straying" from God as a young man. Raised a Catholic, he became "so devoted to his Lord" that he gave up...

Pleasee sign this petition opposing the "Crescent of Embrace" design being developed for the Flight 93 memorial. Despite vague comments by the designer and the Park Service, the design is going forward as yet unchanged.

We must, as US citizens oppose this travesty and make our voices heard. If enough of us do so, we will be successful as we were in opposing the Flag Raising Monument in January of 2002 that had been planned for the WTC Flag Raising.

Brown The widow of Flight 93 hero Thomas Burnett says her husband was a devout Catholic who had premonitions of the fate that met him and 44 others on the fateful day of September 11, 2001 -- including a hunch his life would not be a long one and that his mission in life would somehow involve the White House. It is now widely believed the hijacked plane, which crashed...
