The noteworthy British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli once remarked that “there are three types of lies -- lies, damn lies, and statistics.” The Ancient Greek playwright Aeschylus also observantly wrote ”in war, truth is the first casualty.” There could easily be another corollary to these great quotes that could go ... in the battle over school board recalls, there are lies, damn lies, and recall campaign slogans. The Temecula Valley Unified School District recall campaign against current School Board President Dr. Joseph Komrosky is a prime example of the lies and mistruths perpetrated by a leftist dominated coalition of local...

Dear TVUSD School Board, The school board’s proposed parental notification policy is both a common sense and worthy proposal to what so many voters, parents, and taxpayers want in our school district as well as in society at large; a return to normalcy. It has long been a normal standard throughout virtually all school districts that parents receive timely and pertinent notifications from school officials for a variety of reasons, including school sponsored field trips, medical, psychological and counseling issues, extracurricular activities, student commendations, as well as disciplinary actions, and the safety and security of the students. It is only...

By Jen Wiersma, Trustee for the Temecula Valley Unified School District, Area 3 Standing up for parental rights over our children’s education is more than a campaign slogan; it is essential. As parents are taking action to regain control of their children’s education, we are seeing disinformation campaigns launched to upend their efforts. As a newly seated Temecula Unified School District (TVUSD) board member, I’m compelled to address the inaccuracies perpetuated by Assemblyman Corey Jackson, author of Assembly Bill 1078 and the co-sponsor of the bill, Tony Thurmond, California Superintendent of Public Instruction. Since the November 2022 general election, where...

Temecula’s conservative school board majority has blocked a history textbook because its supporting materials mention slain gay rights leader Harvey Milk. School board President Joseph Komrosky, who opposed the book, called Milk “a pedophile.” In response, the Temecula teachers union staged a rally and plans another, including before the next Temecula Valley school board meeting Tuesday, June 13. Last month, Temecula Valley Unified School District officials brought the adoption of a book called Social Studies Alive to the board and recommended it be approved for students in first through fifth grades for eight years. The textbook would be used starting...

Dear Editor, During the May 11 City Council meeting, Mayor Pro Tem Matt Rahn unjustly maligned fellow Council Member Jessica Alexander for her reference to the Covid-19 virus as China Virus. Matt Rahn is simply parroting Chinese Communist Party (CCP) talking points while also failing to note that in late 2019 and early 2020, the virus was routinely called Wuhan Virus and Chinese Virus throughout our American establishment and major news media outlets. It was only after the Beijing-approved talking point by the China Xinhua News and intense behind the scenes lobbying by Chinese Communists that the narrative moved from...

Has your God-given right to freedom of assembly been deemed #nonessential? Have California bureaucrats deemed you as #nonessential? Our communities, our families, and our Judeo-Christian way of life are under attack. The California governor and bureaucracy have deemed our cherished freedoms as “Non-Essential”. They call us deplorables. They call us bitter-clingers. They call us smelly WalMart shoppers. They call us chumps. They call us non-essential. We are unapologetic and we are going to speak the truth. Nobody is “non-essential.” Together, we are an unstoppable force. A rally of the “Non-Essentials” on November 1 beginning at 5:30 p.m.at Temecula City Hall...

A detachment from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit has set up a secret firebase in northern Iraq to support operations of the US and coalition forces fighting ISIS.Yesterday, ISIS targeted the firebase, firing two rockets, one of which landed inside the base killing one Marine and wounding several others.Initially, the Pentagon claimed that the Marine, Staff Sgt. It’s hard to imagine that any school would have a problem with a book about a Christian family that helped Jews escape the Holocaust. But Springs Charter Schools in Temecula, Calif., not only had a problem with “The Hiding Place,” they also took issue with any other book that was written by a Christian author or included a Christian message. “We do not purchase sectarian educational materials and do not allow sectarian materials on our state-authorized lending shelves,” Superintendent Kathleen Hermsmeyer wrote in a letter to attorneys at the Pacific Justice Institute (PJI). Pacific Justice Institute is representing a parent...

The previous day the teacher instructed boys and girls to find something at home that represented a family Christmas tradition. They were supposed to bring the item to school and share the item in a classroom presentation. Brynn Williams decided...
