PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The U.S. Military is demanding that thousands of wounded service personnel give back signing bonuses because they are unable to serve out their commitments. To get people to sign up, the military gives enlistment bonuses up to $30,000 in some cases. Now men and women who have lost arms, legs, eyesight, hearing and can no longer serve are being ordered to pay some of that money back. One of them is Jordan Fox, a young soldier from the South Hills. He finds solace in the hundreds of boxes he loads onto a truck in Carnegie. In each...

EAGLES UP!!!I know this is Thanksgiving Week, but our troops overseas do not get a break. There are several FReeps that need your help. Please plan a little time out of your holiday weekend and help support the troops. This Saturday we will need "boots on the corner" in Westminster. This is an important Saturday since it is one of the two Saturdays per month that the moonbats will be there. In addition, PatriotMarineMom's Marine son will be there. He is scheduled to be deployed to Iraq in March. A lot of the Olney FReepers are heading up to Westminster...

Readers know JINSA's support of the Fran O'Brien's dinners out for young soldiers - primarily amputees - recuperating from their wounds at Walter Reed and Bethesda Naval Hospital. For four years, Hal Koster has ensured that soldiers and their families have the benefit of food and fellowship, easing their way back into a society that all-too-often wants to forget them. The dinners began in Hal's restaurant, Fran O'Brien's Stadium Steakhouse, but when the restaurant lost its lease, Hal made sure the soldiers never missed a Friday night out. Leading a dedicated band of volunteers, he corralled restaurants, Embassies, groups and...

Hi, everyone! I will be leading a group of people waving flags and holding "Support the Troops" signs tomorrow night (Friday) at the Laemmle's Sunset 5 (Crescent Heights and Sunset) as a reaction to their showing the piece of lunacy posing as the movie Redacted (Brian DePalma's piece of anti-troop/US trash). First evening show's at 7:20 and we'll begin trickling in around 6:15-6:30. We'll be sticking around for the 9:45 show, too, so hope to see as many Los Angelino patriots as possible. Take Care, MistahE1970

Red Shirt If the Red shirt thing is new to you, read below how it went for a man... Last week, while traveling to Chicago on business, I noticed a Marine sergeant traveling with a folded flag, but did not put two and two together. After we boarded our flight, I turned to the sergeant, who'd been invited to sit in First Class (across from me), and inquired if he was heading home. No, he responded. Heading out I asked? No. I'm escorting a soldier home. Going to pick him up? No. He is with me right now. He was...

Please, while our troops are fighting overseas, do not forget that their families here at home face their own struggles. Not only do they worry about their spouses, fathers, mothers....they sometimes worry about making ends meet. When our warriors families face hard times here at home, the VFW's Unmet Needs Program (http://www.unmetneeds.com) steps up and pays late water bills, medical bills, broken appliances...all the things that these people should not have to worry about. Our donations can lessen the burden on these great Americans. The holidays are upon us, let's help the people who have sacrificed so much. Most of...

The holidays are a difficult time of the year for families with soldiers deployed overseas in the military. Now a VFW Ladies Auxiliary is leading an effort to "sew" some cheer. Judy Mattson is known as the cut up. Mattson says her job is, "Cutting the material and putting the kits together so that people could just go ahead and sew as fast as we could." Mattson belongs to Friday's SaddleBrooke Quilters, whose members are helping sew Christmas stockings for every Arizona Army National Guard soldier in Iraq and Afghanistan. There are 1,200 of them. Jeanne Soling, a Quilters member,...

WASHINGTON, Nov. 6, 2007 – Troops in Iraq know too well how quickly life can take a wrong turn. An outpouring of goodwill and support from the public is helping one wounded soldier and his wife cope with a tragic loss. For Army Spc. John A. Johnson, the fifth improvised-explosive-device blast he experienced in Iraq, in August, was the one that caused traumatic brain injury that landed him at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio for treatment. Two months later, when he was being discharged, his wife and three children left El Paso and headed east to meet him....

This Marine (BELOW) stopped by to Thank us for being out here this Saturday. He will be deployed soon to Fallujah. He also asked about some moonbats that protest nearby Quantico, at the shopping center on Rte. 1 just down from the Marine Corps Museum. If anyone has any info on the idiot moonbats, let us know. Sounds like a FReep and Gathering of Eagles pending. FReepers, Lurkers and Legionnaires in attendance this week of the "Quackers" second week of their completely failed surge: Legionnaires Frank (Army) and Halsey (USMC), both Korean War Vets, Lurker Bill and daughter, Cindy_True_Supporter (CTS),...

So instead of joining the small but just as passionate pro-troops group, I decided to imbed myself in the den of irrationality. The videos have all these pics and more along with interviews with protestors. See video descriptions for more info and comment for the troops!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75ZF9tiOPLc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGwbK7Nb48g Feel free to comment on some of the "logical" responses by the protestors. Here are some pics (most are in the video): Ready to Infiltrate... Proper Credentials for Infiltration On approach The usual "let's find a solution" mentality of such protestors. Ahhh, yes - Protestors for limiting freedom of speech. Though in...
