A briefing with congressional leaders at the White House on Wednesday ended with insults, a walkout — and a meme. It was the first face-to-face meeting between President Trump and top Democrats since the impeachment inquiry began, and things got heated between the president and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The House had just passed a bipartisan resolution condemning Mr. Trump's abrupt decision to pull troops from Syria, and lawmakers were supposed to be discussing the deteriorating military situation there with the president. But top Democrats left the meeting early. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the president insulted House Speaker...

WESTERVILLE, Ohio—At an event in an ice cream shop downtown in this small suburb of Columbus, hours before Democrats’ presidential debate blocks away, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez held court with a dozen or so young, rising Ohio Democrats to declare that the national party was here for a reason. “We’re here in Ohio because Ohio’s a battleground,” Perez said, “and I’m confident we can win Ohio.” Perez wasn’t just trying to cheer up the troops. He was weighing in on a live, controversial question: Should Democrats give up on Ohio? For more than half a century, this question...

RUSH: Here’s another little news story that… You know, if you dig deep — if you dig deep — eventually the left, the Democrats, will betray their fears. They will always tell you what they’re afraid of. They will always tell you who they are afraid of. Thomas B. Edsall in the New York Times: “Trump Is Winning the Online War — The technical superiority and sophistication of the president’s digital campaign is a hidden advantage of incumbency.” Ohhhh, it’s a “hidden advantage of incumbency.” It doesn’t have anything to do with Trump’s people! “For all his negative poll numbers...

A question about Ellen DeGeneres and former President George W. Bush’s friendship drew the ire of Democratic presidential candidates and viewers alike following Tuesday night’s debate hosted by CNN and The New York Times. After the three-hour televised event, viewers and some Democratic hopefuls slammed debate moderator Anderson Cooper’s final question of the evening, which did not focus on what many thought could have been more important issues, like climate change. “Last week, Ellen DeGeneres was criticized after she and former President George W. Bush were seen laughing together at a football game. Ellen defended their friendship, saying, ‘We’re all...

Last week, the Commission on Presidential Debates announced the schedule of 2020 presidential debates. President Trump should quickly dismiss that schedule as unacceptable and announce that if any debates will be held at all in 2020, it will be only after extensive, direct negotiations between him and the eventual nominee of the Democratic Party and their respective designated representatives. And those negotiations should begin from a premise that the Republicans will no longer play by the biased rules of a deeply unbalanced Manhattan-Beltway media elite. Explicitly articulating this declaration of intent now, along with the possibility that, as in 1968...

Two of the Clinton Foundation’s shady international partners have been arrested for fraud. And experts and law enforcement officials in the United States say this spells potential big trouble for Bill & Hillary Clinton and their own shady ‘charity’ known as the Clinton Foundation. CLAIM: CNN and the New York Times failed to ask a single question about climate change during the fourth Democrat debate on Tuesday evening. VERDICT: True. Though CNN held a separate town hall on the subject, the moderators never brought up the issue during the debate, enraging left-wing critics on social media. Washington State governor Jay Inslee — who bowed out of the presidential race after focusing his campaign almost exclusively on the issue of climate change — took moderators to task on Tuesday evening for failing to ask a single question about climate change.
