HOUSTON, Texas--As unaccompanied minors continue to illegally cross the Texas-Mexico border, President Obama's Health and Human Services (HHS) has been quietly releasing them onto U.S. soil. A total of 30,340 unaccompanied minors have already been released from federal custody and placed into foster homes, according to HHS' Office of Refugee and Resettlement (ORR). While many migrants have been released in border states like Texas and California, others have been set free in Alaska. Federal data shows that as of July 7, five unaccompanied minors were released in Alaska.

Not since the disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1991, and prior to that the fall of France in 1940, has there been so swift an erosion of the world influence of a Great Power as we are witnessing with the United States. The Soviet Union crumbled jurisdictionally: In 1990-1991, one country became the 16 formerly constituent republics of that country... The cataclysmic decline of France, of course, was the result of being overrun by Nazi Germany in 1940...What we are witnessing now in the United States, by contrast, is just the backwash of inept policy-making in Washington, and nothing...

I don’t know when it became OK for people to be so open about the weird stuff they are into. I have always lived by the code whatever you do is fine as long as I don’t have to see it. It’s been a mantra for decades. However, since the dawn of the internet people have been very happy to share things about themselves that not everyone wants to know and most of it is downright obscene.

Saturday, July 27, 2013 The End of Shame Posted by Daniel Greenfield @ the Sultan Knish blog Weiner's political career will never end, if only because of how much value he has to offer to the media, standup comedians and bored browsers looking for some news item to wake them up long enough to finish another hour of data entry at their job. Shame has become a mostly discredited concept. The return of Weiner and Spitzer to public life proves as much. But the Era of Shame ended conclusively with Clinton's impeachment proceedings. The only outcome of those proceedings was...
  • Temple Activist: Policeman Said Rock Attacks "Not My Job"

    05/29/2013 7:03:07 AM PDT · by Former Fetus · 12 replies
A Jewish man who visited the Temple Mount was attacked multiple times by Muslim children screaming "Allahu Akbar," and, he says, a police officer who was present did nothing to stop the attacks. Temple Mount activist Yehuda Glick recalled the attacks in an interview with Arutz Sheva. Hearing calls of "Allahu Akbar" (Arabic for "G-d is great") is something he has grown used to, Glick says. "All I can say is 'Amen,' because G-d really is great," he told Arutz Sheva radio. But on one of his latest visits, he said, the attempts to insult him escalated into physical attack....

I suspect the last state will be worse than the first state. Older is not always necessarily wiser for some adult lives, unfortunately. 4 years of this administration and not one awe inspiring statement for the annals of time or history books... real shame to now lead the now known cause and ideologies that almost brought this country down.

Six Palestinian Authority (PA) Arabs took part in an attempt to ambush rape a Jewish Galilee woman Tuesday, police suspect. The woman went on a morning walk in the fields near Sharona, not far from the Sea of Galilee, where she walks every morning. She then found herself in what appeared to be a planned ambush, according to TV Channel 2. A man approached her and threw a rock that hit her head. She fell to the ground and he began trying to rape her. She then noticed five other Arab men looking on, apparently waiting for him to subdue...

Before you look to do harm to Chief Justice Roberts or his family, it’s important that you think carefully about the meaning – the true nature — of his ruling on Obama-care. The Left will shout that they won, that Obama-care was upheld and all the rest. Let them. It will be a short-lived celebration. Here’s what really occurred — payback. Yes, payback for Obama’s numerous, ill-advised and childish insults directed toward SCOTUS. Chief Justice Roberts actually ruled the mandate, relative to the commerce clause, was unconstitutional. That’s how the Democrats got Obama-care going in the first place. This is...

Since February, workers hired by a union to picket First Baptist Church of Dandridge have held up a sign reading, "Shame on Pastor Brown," to protest nonunion workers building a new addition at the church. Each day the church's pastor, Dr. Robert Brown, waved at the men and waved off the criticism they leveled at him and the church. On Friday, Jefferson County Sheriff G.W. "Bud" McCoig arrested the two men and charged them with violating the sex offender registry act. "It's hard to miss the irony, isn't it?" Brown said. "I've said to several folks that I've done a...

Fifteen years ago James Twitchel’s For Shame: The Loss of Common Decency in American Culture argued for the socially redeeming character of shame: “Shame is the basis of individual responsibility …It is where decency comes from… shame inhibits behavior— that’s the point. It retards action, it increases reticence, it invokes self‑censorship. Its final object is not banishment, but reintegration.” Twitchell’s book describes a past moral ethos eroded by an ideology of radical sexual freedom that shamelessly rejected the “old ways.” In 1996 Senator Fred Thomson said of Bill Clinton: “He is a man of his times…He literally has no shame.”...

Prez offers us more of the shameMichael Goodwin Last Updated: 3:30 AM, January 4, 2012 In a commercial that helped elect him mayor of New York in 1977, Ed Koch looked at the TV camera and noted that incumbent Abe Beame wanted “four more years to finish the job. Finish the job?” Koch deadpanned. “Hasn’t he done enough?” **SNIP** Yet he, like all failing incumbents, also has a major disadvantage: a record. Which is why it comes as a surprise that Obama plans to make attacks on Congress a centerpiece of his campaign. It’s doubling-down on his biggest mistakes and...

It seems that Newsweek’s cover photo of Rep. Michele Bachmann has already proven to be a game-changer: it got Jon Stewart to defend the Republican presidential candidate for an entire segment– not an easy feat. Stewart blasted the magazine for deliberately finding an unflattering photo of the Congresswoman, arguing “you’ve got to go pretty far” to find an unflattering one, listing examples of Bachmann making “yelling into a bullhorn” look attractive, and giving editor Tina Brown a dose of her own medicine.

But having been through a not entirely dissimilar situation does not seem to have made the Clintons more sympathetic to Weiner's problem: One of Mr. Weiner's most emotional apologies was delivered to former President Bill Clinton[...] The Clintons are deeply unhappy about the situation and with Mr. Weiner, people who had been told of...
