Two American men, a high-profile dancer & a teenage musician, have been arrested by Tokyo police investigating the murder of an Irish student apparently strangled to death in a luxury Tokyo hotel. Nicola Furlong, 21, was found dead in the early hours of Thursday morning after she attended a Nicki Minaj concert with a female friend, also a 21-year-old Irish student.Dancer James Blackston, 23, and a 19-year-old male musician, who has not been identified by police, have been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting Ms Furlong's friend in a taxi on the way to the hotel. Police are investigating whether the two men plied the two women with alcohol or spiked their drinks before taking them to the Keio Plaza in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo after the concert. Ms Furlong was found unconscious in a room after another guest alerted staff to a loud noise. The two men were arrested at the shortly afterwards by officers, the Independent reported. A spokesperson for Tokyo Metropolitan Police said of the alleged sexual attack on Ms Furlong's friend: 'These two men allegedly took advantage of a female unable to resist due to the fact she was in a comatose state from a highly alcoholic beverage. 'On a taxi ride between Shibuya and Shinjuku they took advantage of a woman by touching her body. As that is an indecent act, they have been charged with quasi forcible indecency.' State Department officials confirmed the arrests. It is believed the 19-year-old, identified by some reports as Larry Perry, was with Ms Furlong when she was found, Kyodo News reported. The death came just hours after the two women, who were both studying in Japan, attended the Nicki Minaj concert in Tokyo, reports claiming that they missed their last train home.

Perhaps said to be part of this "hip hop" entourage to Tokyo, Japan from the USA:
Victim:
I am sure this will be at the top of the fold with nonstop coverge in the Washington Post, New York Times, LA Times, on MSNBC and NPR, and CNN will have a special, urgent Soledad O'Brien anchored report about "The Problematic Behavior of Certain Americans Overseas and Race." (sic)

CNN covered it this afternoon...but only showed that picture of the victim.

Not a good place to be, if you’re convicted of murder in Japan.
You get a room to yourself and a single lightbulb, that burns all the time, and meals.
That’s it.

Japanese media will not be as coddling, nor politically correct/biased, I can assure you. They harp Trayvon to death 24/7 because of the race of the tragic players. On this one, for the opposite reason, they will ignore or paper over and in no way will it become a Front Line Narrative story to push American discussion.
I for one think the crimes of horrendous Americans committed overseas in generally peaceful countries who are our allies, should be top news, front and center, and part of a SHAME campaign. America does not need to export this garbage. BIG mistake for US to grant a passport for the perp and BIG mistake for Japanese immigration to stamp his visa at Narita Airport and let him into the country. If guilty, hope they lock him up and throw away the key.

Was stationed in Korea. As it was explained to me, Korean prisons don’t generally provide meals, that is the responsibility of the prisoner’s family/friends. This strikes me as a sensible policy. Heck, it may have been common practice in America at one time.

BIG mistake for US to grant a passport for the perp and BIG mistake for Japanese immigration to stamp his visa at Narita Airport and let him into the country. Japan is pretty strict about letting foreigners with criminal convictions into the country, even actors and musicians. The two may not have had a criminal record.

The rumor making the rounds in Tokyo on this case is that Attorney General Holder's office, along with the State Dept. have asked the US Govt. to make an outreach to the Government of Japan, to ask them to play the crime down for the sake of "US-Japan" relations and that it is a touchy news story, and that they will both benefit by having it toned down. Will be interesting to see if the Japanese media follows suit. I doubt it. Also, my predition: Expect either Revs. Jackson or Sharpton in town here (Tokyo) very soon to try for a "rescue of the brothers", though that will be like butting into a brick wall with strict Japanese authorities and these guy's asses are now in the custody of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police and the Ministry of Justice on Japanese soil under Japanese law. No visiting, rabble rousing, shakedown artist American community organizer is going to have much power over that in Tokyo. Generally they are rather independent and somewhat paparazzi-ist, so I doubt they can keep too much of a lid on this, like they might be able to do back stateside. Thing is, probably most of the stories and gory details and trial particulars, will come out only in Japanese. CNN is not going to send a reporter to cover this one 24/7. They will do the cursory overview to protect themselves from charges of cover up, other than that, well, DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE. Can we move on now back to Trayvon-Zimmerman!!?? / sarc

Amen. I had fun in Japan, almost to an illegal extent, but I never attempted to harm anyone else, ever.
Put him in a Japanese jail and have him squat for hours as punishment.

I will grant you that. But if they were smuggling/carrying date rape (which is the current thinking) drugs through Japanese customs, they certainly made it free and clear. This type of entrant ("entertainer short term visa" ) to the country of Japan should get triple scrutiny if you ask me--PC be damned, any American Hip Hop/Rap Group and their entourage at Narita Airport, coming in with all kinds of gang "tats" and probably with an attitude of my "s" dont stink, I'll do what I please now that I am over here--should get twice of what the TSA gives US WWII vets, if you ask me. I hope the profilers in the Japan Immigration Agency as well as Tokyo Metro police get a clue over this. There has always been some level of crimes, drugs, rapes, etc. in connection with may US rap/hip hop groups which come to Japan and play these dank clubs, then carouse Tokyo till all hours of the night making asses of themselves, tarnishing the USA image, getting in fights and what not. Enough, say many Japanese and many foreigners here as well.
Note below notice (Club mentioned is the same club where this act performed, before the murder last week):
"SNOOP DOGG's Entertainment Visa officially Cleared by Japan consulate in the US 今の気分:決意 SNOOP DOGG's Entertainment Visa officially Cleared by Japan consulate in the US. ☆Snoop Doggs Entertainment Visa has been officially cleared by the Japan Consulate in the U.S.!☆ Recent news of a popular celebrity being sent back to the U.S. after arriving in Narita Airport has given birth to more rumors about Snoop Doggs Entertainment Visa status. Well wonder no more, because Snoop is coming and is excited about rocking with his fans in Japan! Tickets are still available for the ZEPP TOKYO, Yokohama Blitz and Ginowan Outdoor Theater (Okinawa) shows and you will be able to buy them at the members discount price of 8,000yen until the day before the show you select!"

When you are hear, you must be mindful it is as if wherever you go you have a huge American flag shining on your back. As an eternal Ambassador. Sure, some good times can be had, and Japanese love to drink with Americans and there are limits. But agreed. Nobody with a sane mind crosses over the line and rapes and strangles an Irish female foreign student here caught up in the worst of American gutter culture.
Glad you enjoyed Japan. If you are good to them, the will be more than good to you. But in the case of these two perps, well, let's just say I would not want to be in their shoes, and the Japanese are probably going to house the in a cell with the tallest, biggest, most mean, muscular, incorrible and prison-homosexual or bi-tendencied yakuza prison inmate you can imagine. Oh wow. Hours and hours of unprotected fun.

That is way to charitable for scumbags like this.

Imagine if the Amish thug had killed one of their Japanese citizens? The boiling point would be at a much lower threshold over there one would think and they would be royally pissed.

Also, my predition: Expect either Revs. Jackson or Sharpton in town here (Tokyo) very soon to try for a "rescue of the brothers", Usually they only do this with an anti-American and/or left wing government that they can negotiate with to poke America in the eye. I don't see a way they can stab America in the back over this, and they won't go over there on the hope they can do something, and then fail. The only way they will go is if Obama has already negotiated a fix.
But they can't just be sent over here and let free, they are accused of murder. They will either have to be put on trial there, and serve their sentence in Japan or in the USA. And the fact that the girls are Irish, not US or Japanese, complicates things as well, but might favor them being sent over here to serve their sentence, since neither the perpetrator or the victim were Japanese.
