He made it clear that he didn’t particularly like or even respect Bachmann. He also made it clear that Tina Brown and Newsweek were reprehensible and Brown’s official excuse was BS.

For anyone not familiar with Tina Brown, I can tell you she's one of the most despicable people in publishing. She's on a par with someone like Maureen Dowd of the NY Times, a simply pathetic person. But Brown is worse and more dangerous, because she's smarter than Dowd.
I noticed as well as anyone that Bachmann is extremely good looking. In fact she would be very good looking for a 35 year old woman and she's 55. And even a 22 year old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model can take a bad photo under the right conditions. So if anyone out there still has doubts about Newsweak, well they need remedial help.

This was a veiled hit-piece on Bachmann by Stewart.
He did have some points. Michele is quite photogenic, so one really has to go out of their way to find a bad picture of her.

Fair? He’s basically saying that it’s great to make fun of her, Newsweek just did it the wrong way. He’s coaching them more than criticizing them!

(yes, as a matter of fact, i DID only read the excerpt)

This is great! First, the president of NOW criticizes the Newsweek photo/story on Michele Bachmann and castigated the rag for demeaning a woman, now lefty Jon Stewart does the same thing on his TV show. Yes, both Terri O'Neill, the president of NOW and Jon Stewart made it clear that they are not fans of Michele Bachmann in any way - but that makes their criticism of Newsweek's attempt to ridicule and demean Michele Bachmann a lot more credible. I don't give a rats patoot about Jon Stewart or NOW but when these leftists rise to defend a conservative politician being insulted by a national news magazine, I take it as a good portent.

He didn’t defend her.
He objected to the photo because it backfired on the left. In the same segment he made a point to throw up several quotations of hers that he thought would have done more to destroy her then the photo did.
This was an argument over tactics not civility.

There wasn’t any “defense”, he just criticized Newsweak’s failed attack because it made the lefties look bad.

hey all you country folks , I got a tip for you ;
Newsweek makes great outhouse paper , the glossy makes for a nice smooth wipe .

Where was he when Gov Palin was on the front page in shorts?
Much of Bachmann`s support is manufactured by MSM, even though they do not even like or respect her.
The proof is in the FREAKIN pudding, she has not raised any money!!!!
