Police in Tennessee have identified Tremaine Wilbourn, 29, as the suspect in last night’s shooting and murder of Memphis Police Officer Sean Bolton during what is being called a routine traffic stop: Wilbourn was convicted of robbing a bank in 2005 and is reportedly on “supervised release” from prison:

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee police officials on Sunday identified a suspect in the fatal shooting of a Memphis police officer, and an intense search for the man is underway. Tremaine Wilbourn, 29, faces a first-degree murder charge in the death of Officer Sean Bolton, 33, on Saturday night, Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong said at a news conference. Armstrong said Wilbourn was a passenger in a 2002 Mercedes Benz that was parked illegally in a southeast Memphis neighborhood on Saturday night. Armstrong said Bolton saw the car and shined his squad car's spotlight on the vehicle.

CNN)—A manhunt is underway for a suspect who fatally shot a police officer during a traffic stop in Tennessee, authorities said Sunday. Memphis Police Officer Sean Bolton, 33, was shot multiple times Saturday night by a person who was in the car he pulled over, police said.The assailant remains at large, Memphis police spokeswoman Karen Rudolph said.
