BELLEFONTE, Pa. (WTAJ) – Pennsylvania State Police arrested Jeffrey Sandusky, 41 and charged him with sexually assaulting a child. Sandusky is the adopted son of Jerry Sandusky, the former Penn State football coach who was convicted on multiple counts of child sex abuse.

Jerry Sandusky's sex abuse scandal is costing the Penn State almost a quarter million dollars almost half a decade after the former assistant coach was arrested for child molestation. The Associated Press reports the college has reached $237million, including a recent $12 million verdict in the whistleblower and defamation case brought by former assistant coach Mike McQueary. The university has also settled with 33 people who alleged they were sexually abused by Sandusky. Penn State paid out $93 million in damages.

Joe Paterno was told as early as 1976 that former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky had sexually molested young boys according to a new report. A child apparently reported to Paterno that he was sexually abused by Sandusky in 1976. This came to light via a court order during a related insurance coverage case involving Penn State. It looks like former Penn State President Graham B. Spanier won't be going to Saudi Arabia this fall after all. Commonwealth Court denied Spanier's request to travel there to meet with higher education officials, noting the lack of an extradition treaty with Saudi Arabia that would make it impossible to force him back. Spanier, who is awaiting trial on perjury and conspiracy charges connected to the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal, has been barred from leaving the country without approval of the court and the attorney general since August 2013.

Police in Sandusky said 45-year-old James Young of East Canton died after jumping a fence to retrieve some of his belongings. They had fallen while Young was riding the Raptor roller coaster. Young was an Intervention Specialist for the 2014-2015 school years at the Louisville public schools. According to Michele Shaffer, superintendent of the district, he worked with students that needed extra help in reading and math. Shaffer told Fox 8 Young loved working as an intervention specialist and that his passion was to be a guidance counselor, which is what he received his master’s degree in.

Former Pittsburgh school police officer Robert Lellock has been arrested and charged with raping 22 male students he was hired to protect. A federal lawsuit notes that school officials should have known about the abuse, as Lellock was frequently taking boys out of the classroom to rape them in a janitor’s closet. According to the Tribune-Review, Robert Lellock worked for the Pittsburgh public school system as a school police officer where he repeatedly sexually abused at least 22 boys. LANTANA, Fla. —Robert VanWinkle aka Vanilla Ice was arrested Wednesday by the Lantana Police Department on burglary charges. Police investigated a residential burglary which occurred sometime during December 2014 and February 2015 in the 100 block of N. Atlantic Drive. According to Lantana Police, during the burglary incident, numerous items of furniture, pool heater, bicycles and other items were removed from the residence which is currently in the process of foreclosure. Police determined VanWinkle played a role in the burglary and theft. Police say VanWinkle is currently renovating the residence adjacent to the property in which the items were stolen....

Due to Penn State University’s significant progress toward ensuring its athletics department functions with integrity, the NCAA Executive Committee on Monday eliminated the school’s postseason ban, effective immediately, and will return the full complement of football scholarships in 2015-16.
