  • Hardware hack defeats iPhone (5C) passcode security (Video at Link)

    BBC ^ | 19 September 2016
IPhone (5C) passcodes can be bypassed using just £75 ($100) of electronic components, research suggests. A Cambridge computer scientist cloned iPhone memory chips, allowing him an unlimited number of attempts to guess a passcode. The work contradicts a claim made by the FBI earlier this year that this approach would not work. The FBI made the claim as it sought access to San Bernardino gunman Syed Rizwan Farook's iPhone. CHEAP TRICK Farouk and his wife killed 14 people in the California city last December before police fatally shot them. The FBI believed his iPhone 5C contained information about collaborators, but...

Dr. Sebastian Gorka .. about the massacre in Nice, and the role terrorism plays in the Islamist drive for global supremacy... Islamists have been telegraphing mass-casualty attacks using vehicles as weapons for a very long time ... if people in the West would ever “wake up” to the ISIS caliphate’s determination to impose Islamic law on the entire world... Fox viewers understand it. The military that I have the honor of working with, and the FBI agents that I work with, they get it. That’s not the problem,” said Gorka. “The problem is the decision-makers, the people sitting in the...

On the heels of the San Bernardino massacre, where terrorists entered a gun-free zone to slaughter their unarmed victims, California Gov. Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown signed legislation making it more difficult for law-abiding Americans to defend themselves. In the liberal mind, that doesn’t matter. It’s “gun violence”, not gang violence or terrorist violence. So let’s pass laws that would not have prevented San Bernardino: The Democratic governor signed six bills Friday requiring gun owners to give up magazines holding more than 10 rounds and to undergo a background check before they can purchase ammunition, among other measures… Read more: http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2016/07/california_bites_the_bullet_with_background_checks.html#ixzz4Dk9BAJbu Follow...

For years, Jorge Ramos has been the face of Univision, America's most influential Spanish-language news channel. Although seen by millions of people, for a time he was largely unknown to just as many. But then he stood up to Donald Trump, further solidifying himself as the voice of Latino voters. He also does a show for millennial viewers on Fusion, which broadens his base. It's been a long journey for the fifty-eight-year-old, who came to America as an immigrant and, as he says here, is inspired by de Tocqueville. I learned very early on that I had to question everything,...

A U.S. immigration official blamed in a federal report for barring law enforcement agents from a suspect in the San Bernardino terror attack has been nominated for a prestigious agency award – but her bosses in Washington refuse to say what she did to earn consideration. Irene Martin heads the San Bernardino U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office, where last December, she allegedly blocked five armed Department of Homeland Security agents from the man authorities say supplied the firepower in the deadly attack a day earlier. Although an Inspector General's report found she acted improperly, and then lied to investigators,...

On a cool spring day at the Capitol, Toni Atkins delivered a series of blows unlike anything the tobacco industry had ever felt in California. Then speaker of the Assembly, the San Diego Democrat had been a lame duck for the last six months since the house elected Anthony Rendon to replace her. It was a Thursday morning in March and her final session as speaker, a tenure that lasted just shy of a year and 10 months. In a series of quick votes, the Assembly passed six smoking bills, the most significant of which raised the age to buy...

In a shocking development in the push for gun-control, Senator Chris Murphy, who filibustered for 15 hours regarding the issue, admitted Sunday on ABC’s This Week that his proposal would not have stopped any recent mass shooting. “Your proposal would have done nothing in the case of Orlando, it would have done nothing to stop the killing in San Bernardino,” stated ABC’s Jon Karl calling out Murphy, “And in fact, it was unrelated to the killing in Newtown.” The proposal Murphy has been pushing is one that is meant to close the mythical “gun show loophole.” “Would that have done anything...

former Department of Homeland Security official Philip Haney insisted terrorism in Orlando, FL and San Bernardino, CA might have been prevented had the his former agency not deleted a list he compiled linking some Muslims with terrorism. Haney .. was able to link a mosque where San Bernardino shooters Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik worshiped to a network that tied the mosque where Orlando shooter Omar Mateen worshiped, but under the leadership of resident Barack Obama, that database was deleted. Farook would have been put on the no-fly list and not allowed to travel, or his pending fiancé would have...

The media have lost their minds after Trump's magnificent speech on Monday. It's all hands on deck, no attack is too extreme. Their main point is: DO NOT LOOK AT THAT SPEECH. It has "words that wound." Much too dangerous even to read it. Instead of reporting what Trump said, the media give us the "gist" of it (in the sense of an unrecognizable distortion). It was awful, Hitlerian, beneath our dignity as a nation. They lie about what he said and then attack their own lies as if they're attacking Trump. The Washington Post's headline, which got their reporters...

SAN JOSE (KRON) — Officers arrested a 24-year-old man Friday after they had released a photo of him, along with others, asking the public to help identify suspects connected to assaults that happened during a rally for Donald Trump in San Jose last week. Officers arrested San Jose resident Anthony Yi on suspicion of robbery, assault and battery, according to police. The arrest stems from three separate incidents in which Yi allegedly robbed one victim and then assaulted two other people at the rally, police said. The rally, which drew hundreds of protestors, occurred on June 2 outside the San...

In an echo of claims made following the San Bernardino massacre, a former co-worker of Omar Mateen, the dead suspect in the worst mass shooting in U.S. history, says that he complained to Mateen’s employer about the man’s “unhinged” behavior, but the company ignored complaints because Mateen was Muslim. Florida Today reports: A former Fort Pierce police officer who once worked with 29-year-old Omar Mateen, the assailant in an Orlando nightclub shooting that left at least 50 dead, said he was “unhinged and unstable.”

Two standbys of Hillary Clinton's stump speech — riffs on guns and national security — assumed added resonance in San Bernardino, the city that was shaken by a terrorist attack six months ago. Speaking at CSU San Bernardino on Friday night, Clinton's message was subtle but unmistakable: Here, these issues are personal. "You here in this beautiful city know the horrors, the losses associated with gun violence are just unimaginable," Clinton told about 1,000 attendees, as she vowed to "take on the gun lobby." Later, she added that residents "know so well here that the most important responsiblity of any...

In 2008, the trial and conviction of five leaders of an Islamic charity for funding the terrorist group Hamas exposed the vast Muslim Brotherhood network in the U.S. and its stated aim, according to FBI evidence, to “destroy Western Civilization from within.” Along with the convictions, the Department of Justice named 300 unindicted co-conspirators in the plot, which included many of the nation’s most prominent Muslim Brotherhood-related organizations. Among them were the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Islamic Society of North America and the North American Islamic Trust. Nevertheless, just one year later, Department of Homeland Security officer Philip B....

The scene inside the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino hours after the deadliest terrorist attack since 9/11 still had the hallmarks of the holiday festivities that brought the victims together and the bloodshed that followed There was the Christmas tree in the corner. The holiday decorations that covered more than a dozen tables. But there were also the bodies and bullet holes. Ceiling tiles had been knocked down, bullets had pierced the walls, carpet and chairs. A Christmas stocking lay over one of the victim’s bodies. “The room was in disarray,” and almost all the victims had gunshot wounds...

A study newly released by the California-based law offices of Graham Donath lists Vallejo as the fourth most dangerous city in the state. The list was determined after comparing a number of factors, including 2014 crime rates, investment in police presence, community risk factors and geopolitical issues. Coming in ahead of Vallejo was Modesto, which was ranked third most dangerous. Stockton took second place and San Bernadino took the uncoveted honors of first place. Oakland was ranked the sixth most dangerous city in the study despite having the largest amount of violent crimes. For every 100,000 residents, 1685 violent crimes...
