With the piles of food boxes growing higher, a sit-in at Mayor Francis Slay's office by city school students continued this iorning for a third day.The students, still wearing yellow shirts saying “Please don't Slay our future,” once again spent the night at the mayor's City Hall office.The students, upset with the mayor's support of a state intervention in the city schools, have submitted a set of demands they want met before leaving.

I would just like to further introduce my blog to the scene. I welcome any advice or criticism, and thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I am a student at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. A fast-moving storm packing powerful winds tore through the St. Louis area Sunday afternoon, killed at least two people, damaged buildings and cut electricity to more than 270,000 customers across Missouri and Illinois. Dark thunderclouds rolled in from the west shortly after 5 p.m., uprooting trees and snapping power lines in St. Louis County and the Metro East, where some of the worst damage was reported.

ESPN.com and the Associated Press, both citing unnamed sources, are reporting that the slugger has agreed to a seven-year contract worth $100 million. The Cardinals have not confirmed either report. Pujols, who will make the switch from left field to first base this season following the trade of Tino Martinez, was scheduled to have his arbitration hearing on Friday. He asked for $10.5 million, while the Cardinals countered at $7 million. ( full story , go to link).
