HOUSTON - A business owner in northeast Harris County shot a suspected burglar trying to steal car parts, deputies said. The shooting happened at A Plaza Auto Parts at 904 Hill Road and Hardy Toll Road at around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The owner said he arrived at his shop to find two masked men attempting to steal expensive car parts.

A robbery attempt went awry when a local business owner pointed a gun at the suspect's head. The owner of Club Billiards was getting out of his truck around 10 a.m. Monday in the 900 block of W. Douglas when a man came up to him. "He had his hands in his pockets. He stated he had a gun and wanted the victim's wallet," said Wichita Police Lieutenant Doug Nolte. "The victim stated that he also had a gun, at which time he produced a handgun and pointed it at the suspect's head."

Earlier -- Austin police say the manager of an arcade fatally shot a man who was attempting to enter the business shortly after midnight Wednesday morning. The manager says the man attempted to break in to the arcade, located off Manor Road in East Austin, while he was locking up for the night. The suspect was armed with a knife.

WINSLOW TWP., N.J. - September 12, 2012 (WPVI) -- Police in Camden County are searching for a would-be bandit who got an unexpected surprise Wednesday afternoon when a pharmacist turned the tables on him. It happened at about 2:00 p.m. at Jolin's Pharmacy in the 400 block of Sicklerville Road in Winslow Township. The Camden County Prosecutor's office tells Action News that one man entered the business and demanded a prescription painkiller, Oxycontin, from the owner, pharmacist John Agyemang. Rather than comply with the demand, prosecutors say, Agyemang pulled out a handgun and fired several times at the man.

DETROIT - Detroit police said a store owner on Detroit's west side shot three men who were allegedly breaking into his business early Friday morning, killing one of them. Police said the 51-year-old owner heard the men breaking into his liquor store on Joy Road near Ohio just after 3 a.m. He opened fire on them, killing a man in his 20s.
