Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) Tuesday compared his likely primary challenger, Pat Toomey, to the AIG executives who took home big bonuses as the government was bailing out their failing company. “If you followed Mr. Toomey's ideas, you would be where the 401(k)'s are — at about half the value,” Specter said during an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “When you take a look at his record, he's been contribut[ing] to the problem,” Specter said of Toomey, a former congressman and Wall Street trader. “And now he wants a promotion; he wants a bonus like those AIG guys.”
