Richards originally claimed he was misquoted, after his publicists attempted to quash the story. Richards, who last weekend claimed he would live to the age of 150, revealed that although he did snort his father, he did not mix his ashes with cocaine, as his previous NME.COM quote implied. "The cocaine bit was rubbish," he said. "I said I chopped him up like cocaine, not with. "I pulled the lid off [my father's urn] and out comes a bit of dad on the dining room table," Richards continued. "I'm going, 'I can't use the brush and dustpan for this'. "What...

HOLLYWOOD - Fresh from his appearance as Captain Jack Sparrow's father in the latest Pirates of the Caribbean, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards says he wants to play Shrek's father in Shrek Four: The Donkey's Revenge because he doesn't want to wind up being typecast. "Papa's got a brand new bag," snorted Mr. Richards in the library of his neo-Victorian Connecticut house, "but let's face it, who wants to play a spaced-out, ragamuffin drunk all the time?" Such is Mr. Richards' fear of being typecast that he has informed Pirates star, Johnny Depp, that he doesn't want to be included...

It was in the summer of 2005 that the Bush Administration began to lose the support of the American public for the war in Iraq. A principal catalyst of this momentous transformation was the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq. Casey Sheehan's mother Cindy Sheehan famously camped outside the President's ranch in Texas and demanded a meeting with him. (In fact, she demanded a second meeting, since they had met before.) President Bush's refusal to meet with her again in such a public fashion was the opening that Democratic leaders like Nancy Pelosi had been waiting for -- a...

FROMMER, Associated Press Writer 53 minutes ago The mother of a Marine who tried to kill himself after two tours of duty in Iraq was arrested Monday while protesting the war outside the office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (news, bio, voting record). Tina Richards of Salem, Ore., was charged with disorderly conduct, said Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, a U.S. Capitol Police spokeswoman. Schneider said Richards would be issued a citation and released. Drew Hammill, a spokesman for Pelosi, D-Calif., said Richards was with a group of 15 to 20 protesters when...

MICHAEL Richards was mistaken when he told his recently hired publicist, Howard Rubenstein, he was Jewish. Rubenstein, an expert in crisis management, said last week that Richards was Jewish after The Post reported the former "Seinfeld" star had spewed anti-Semitic insults at hecklers earlier this year, long before he screamed racial epithets at black audience members at an L.A. comedy club. But it turns out neither of Richards' parents is Jewish, and he never converted. But Richards wasn't lying, Rubenstein said: "He thinks he's Jewish. There were two mentors in his life who raised him and had a big influence...

Rush Limbaugh was vilified and damn near lynched in 2003 for saying that sportswriters do not harshly criticize Donovan McNabb because they want a black quarterback to succeed. Now in 2006, we have Michael Irvin saying that the only explanation that Dallas Cowboys quarterback phenom Tony Romo is as good a football player as he is must be because he has some African ancestry somewhere in his family history. While appearing on a radio show on Nov. 20, ESPN analyst Irvin said, "He (Romo) doesn't look like he's that type of an athlete, but he is. He is, man. I...

November 30, 2006 -- THE K-K-Kramer scandal murdered Michael Richards' career - but it's doing wonders for sales of the latest "Seinfeld" DVD. Season 7 of the popular sitcom is outselling the Season 6 set (released on the same day last year) by more than 75 percent, and more than 90 percent over season 5 at some online DVD retailers, according to TMZ.com.

Michael Richards is not a Jew. As Cosmo Kramer in "Seinfeld," Richards played one on TV. But he himself is not Jewish -- not that there's anything wrong with that. Richards lashed out a heckler at the Laugh Factory last Friday, spitting out the "N" word without humor and with abandon. Audience members booed, several walked out, then Richards himself walked off stage. The incident was caught on a cellphone camera and posted at the TMZ.com Web site, where it ignited a firestorm of criticism against Richards. Richards apologized on "The Late Show With David Letterman" Monday night. "I was...

NEW YORK - Though he's lost many fans after being captured on video hurling racist epithets at a comedy club audience, Michael Richards has an ally: Mel Gibson. "I felt like sending Michael Richards a note," Gibson says in an interview in Entertainment Weekly's Dec. 8 issue. "I feel really badly for the guy. He was obviously in a state of stress. You don't need to be inebriated to be bent out of shape. But my heart went out to the guy." The 50-year-old actor-director added: "They'll probably torture him for a while and then let him go. I like...

I’ve never been a fan of Seinfeld, and I’m not very familiar with the characters. When the show went into syndication a few years ago, I began to come across it whenever I did any channel surfing. I don’t know anything about Michael Richards, the guy who played Kramer on the show. When I read about his onstage rant at a comedy club in Hollywood last week, I figured the guy has some serious anger management problems. Anyone who has performed in front of a live audience knows of the danger posed by hecklers; it comes with the territory. Hence, when Mr....

Jesse Jackson Wants a Seinfeld Boycott for Kramer Tirade Jackson, has called Richards' words "hateful," "sick," and "deep-seated, and for once in his life jess Jackson is right. ***...

The actor best known as "Kramer" from the show Seinfeld has apologized on Reverand Jesse Jackson's syndicated radio show for a racist outburst he made at a comedy club ten days ago. Michael Richards says it wasn't bigotry, but anger which fueled the swear loaded shoutfest. Richards told Jackson that he never before has used racially charged language, and that the comments he made came through him "like a freight train." Rev. Jackson reacted to the apology by calling the outburst "hateful", but claimed the show was an opportunity for discussions on the entertainment industry's "cultural isolation."

Richards, Jackson to discuss racist rant By MEGAN REICHGOTT, Associated Press Writer Sun Nov 26, 1:28 AM ET CHICAGO - Michael Richards will appear on the Rev. Jesse Jackson's nationally syndicated radio program to discuss his racist rant at a Los Angeles comedy club, the civil rights leader said Saturday. Richards' participation in the "Keep Hope Alive" program is a chance to reach out and apologize to the black community, Jackson said. "He is embarrassed," said Jackson, who spoke to Richards by telephone this week after being contacted by the actor's publicist. "I think he wants to recover from the...

November 25, 2006 - The Reverend Jesse Jackson says actor Michael Richards' racial tirade during a standup comedy routine amounts to -- quote -- "hate speech." Jackson said this morning that Richards called and apologized for his rant against two black hecklers in a Los Angeles comedy club. Jackson says he advised Richards to see a psychiatrist to discover why he's angry and hostile toward black people, and also to undergo race sensitivity training. He says Richards' point of view wasn't just a slip of the tongue, and is a symbol of deep-seeded feelings in the culture and in Hollywood....

LOS ANGELES - Michael Richards is doing damage control. In the aftermath of his racist tirade against two black hecklers during a standup comedy routine, Richards on Wednesday hired a publicist with strong ties to the black community who set up calls to the Revs. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. New York publicist Howard Rubenstein took on Richards as a client, then arranged for the actor to call the black leaders. --SNIP-- “Clearly he needs some race sensibility training, and some psychiatric help. His anger is volatile and dangerous to himself and others,” Jackson said. --SNIP-- “I’ve been very involved...

Los Angeles attorney Gloria Allred, who is representing Doss and McBride, said she wants a retired judge to sit down with Richards and the two men to determine if the three-time Emmy winner should pay them for "the pain that he has inflicted on them as a result of his racist words." "If our children took a rock and threw it through the window of a next-door neighbor, we would say to that child, ‘Go to the neighbor, apologize directly to the neighbor and pay the cost of that window that you broke,'" Allred said. "We think it’s important that...

RUSH: This Michael Richards thing. What was his name? Kramer on Seinfeld, which was "a show about nothing." You know, it is fascinating. (Actually it's not fascinating. I've got to stop saying that.) I have read a bunch of reviews of Michael Richards and what he did at the comedy club in LA and his "apology" last night on Letterman. While there is a slew of outrage out there, in the entertainment community there is, "Well, we have to understand comedians," and, "You know, comedians can get away with anything if it's funny, and I suspect that what Michael was...
