One of my favorite reality shows turns out to be completely fake. Operation Repo is show on TruTV (formerly CourTV) where a team of reposession agents go around repossessing vehicles for finance companies. Everytime I watch the show, one of the guys (Matt) is always roughing someone and I always wonder how they get away with it.. i know now, it's all FAKE! If the show was real, Matt would violate the Collateral Recovery Act of the State of California as repossesion agents are not allowed to rough people up. Not sure I can watch the show anymore now that...

GM Moving Tools From Struggling Suppliers By Tom Murphy WardsAuto.com, Jan 16, 2009 2:58 PM DETROIT – Contractors for General Motors Corp. spent much of the Christmas holiday moving more than 700 tool sets from about 15 suppliers that were struggling to meet the terms of their agreements, the auto maker’s purchasing chief says. “We don’t do this because we like to do it,” Bo Andersson, group vice president-global purchasing and supply chain, tells journalist here at the North American International Auto Show after an event recognizing GM’s top suppliers. “When we see suppliers struggle, we say, ‘Where do we...

A witness to the plane's departure on Sunday, airport employee Luis Lopes, said he saw a white man start the empty plane and then take off after a few dangerous land manoeuvres. Airport chief Celso Rosa said there was some evidence to believe the Boeing...

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Michigan: So many people have so many things they can no longer afford. This is an excellent time to be a repo man. When a boater defaults on his loan, the bank hires Jeff Henderson to go seize, or repossess, its property. The former U.S. Army detective tracks the boat down in a backyard or a marina or a garage and hauls it back here, where he auctions it off. After nearly 20 years in the repossession business, Henderson has never been busier. "I used to take the weak ones," he said. "Now I'm taking the whole herd."...

"The Journey Continues--Week 2" Posted by Doc Farmer Wednesday, August 20, 2003 As most of you know, I lost my job in Doha, Qatar. It’s been two weeks now, and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the many of you who sent me e-mail messages of encouragement. They were greatly appreciated. What’s it like, being unemployed? Most of us have experienced it at least once in our careers, but it’s rare that we really examine it or talk about it. But there are things that I need to really get off my chest. Partly, this is a simple...

It's 10 p.m. Do you know where your car is? Max Pineiro knows where somebody's is, and he is about to steal it. Driving his Ford F-150 truck around a rough-and-tumble neighborhood of Rahway, N.J., on a Monday night, he and his partner, Sergio Costa, don't take long to find what they want, a red Honda Accord. Unlocking the car will be easy — they even have a key — but if there's an alarm, they are worried about disabling it before being caught. Mr. Pineiro takes a deep breath. "O.K., I'm going in," he says to Mr. Costa. He...

Trying to repo judge's car can be a headache By Bartholomew Sullivan sullivan@gomemphis.com December 4, 2002 Chris Reed paid quite a price for trying to repossess a judge's Mercedes. His surgical scar starts at the top of his head and ends halfway down his left ear. The surgery was necessary after a Greenwood, Miss., police officer tossed him, handcuffed, into a concrete road curb after charging him with disturbing the peace, according to a federal lawsuit filed last week against the City of Greenwood. The repo man is recovering from brain surgery required after doctors found an aneurysm following the...
