SKAGIT COUNTY - "We are not alone." UFO buffs have been saying so for decades. But now a Mount Vernon man says you don't have to believe in aliens. You can see their ships any night of the week with your own eyes. Ted Anderson says 50 miles above the earth, there's a veritable UFO expressway he calls the UFO Freeway Portal Location. "Myself and thousands of friends have been watching it since 1968," says Anderson. "Motherships come from other worlds to drop off their planetary ships to come to Earth." Where are they from? What's their purpose? Anderson can...

China is preparing for nuclear war with the United States over Taiwan, and a conflict is likely in the near future because of divisions among Beijing's leaders, a Chinese democracy activist says. Wei Jingsheng, a leading international advocate for political reform in China, said in an interview with The Washington Times that President Bush and other U.S. leaders do not fully understand the chance of a conflict breaking out and must do more to avert it.

Rebuilding New Orleans below sea level is just asking for another disaster even if the levee's are strengthened. Bulldoze the city except for the downtown and French Quarter and fill it in with spoils from Lake Ponchartrain. The lake is very shallow and could supply the material necessary to fill in the city. This city is too important to national commerce to just abandon.

2008 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said Wednesday that she favors rolling back the Bush tax cuts to fund reconstruction efforts in New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Asked where the money to rebuild the city should come from, Mrs. Clinton told NBC's "Today Show": "It comes from the first instance in not making those tax cuts for rich people like us permanent." "Let's get back to shared sacrifice," Clinton insisted, defending her tax hike plan. "Let's take care of each other. Let's plan for the future. Let's do what is necessary to put Americans first again." Mrs. Clinton...

JERUSALEM In televised remarks, a prominent Israeli rabbi has declared that Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for President Bush's role in forcing Israelis to leave the Gaza Strip. In his weekly sermon on Israeli television, Ovadia Yosef, a former chief rabbi of Israel, said the hurricane "was God's retribution" for the expulsion of Jews from their settlements in Gaza. He also said Katrina's victims suffered "because they have no God." And he singled out black victims, saying "they don't study Torah." The 85-year-old rabbi is no stranger to controversy. Yosef has called on the Israeli army to "joyfully" annihilate Arabs,...

While most religious authorities seem to agree one cannot discern the intentions of God, there has been talk in some circles here and on the Internet that the storm that turned parts of the Gulf Coast into a disaster zone, prompting hundreds of thousands to evacuate their homes and possibly causing upwards of 10,000 deaths, was thrust upon the U.S. for its support of the Gaza evacuation. "Katrina is a consequence of the destruction of [Gaza's] Gush Katif [slate of Jewish communities] with America's urging and encouragement," Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Lewin, executive director of the Rabbinic Congress for Peace, told...

Watching the Dinosaur Media manufacture "news" stories over the last year (i.e. Rathergate, Downing Street Memo Fraud, Joe Wilson and the CIA "Leak" etc etc etc) a thought occurred to me. Journalist try to pass this all off as a "recent" development in Journalism. A product of "Agenda journalism". I am not so sure. I wonder if maybe this sort of thing has been going on all along and it is only the rise of the "New" media that is catching them at it. Makes you wonder what other "Facts" everyone "knows" are nothing more then made up propaganda from...

Dear Friend: Thank you for contacting me regarding judicial nominations in the newly-elected session of Congress. It is an honor to serve in the United States Senate. The Constitution's "advice and consent" clause clearly gives the Senate the prerogative to accept or reject any of the President's judicial nominations. Unfortunately, a minority of Senators have been using Senate rules to stop the confirmation of many of these nominees and thwart the will of the majority. Their unwise and dangerous efforts are unprecedented and must not be allowed to succeed. That is why I have taken several steps to address this...

Arrogant Pennsylvania Senator, Arlen Specter who won a very narrow victory in both his primary and general election now purports to tell President Bush what to do. This pretender to being a Republican is scheduled to be the Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee where he would be able to obstruct the nominees sent up by the President. “President Bush has made excellent choices for the Federal bench in his first term,” said Richard Engle, President of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies, “and I expect that he will nominate similarly for the Supreme Court.” Throughout the campaign Bush repeatedly...

Looks like we supplied some serious heat! Associated Press:Republican Conference chairman Rick Santorum, a fellow Pennsylvanian and one of the Senate's leading conservatives, put out a general statement of support for Specter last Thursday. "I look forward to working with Senator Specter to guarantee that every judicial nominee put forth by President Bush has an up or down vote," he said.An aide said Monday that Santorum would defer to the decision of the Senate Judiciary Republicans, who will vote on who their chairman should be.Conservatives are inundating those senators with calls and e-mails trying to sway those votes. One GOP...

Last week I suggested that the people Kerry hired to run his campaign were incompetent and/or probably do not want him to win. Most have strong Clinton loyalties. This week, we hear rumbles that heads are about to roll among the Kerry-Edwards campaign staff. Of course, there is no way I would believe Kerry reads my babble -- or would act on the information even if he did. But, I'll reiterate: Kerry couldn't be running a worse campaign if he tried. That's a problem for me, too, actually. Kerry is just too darn easy of a target. Look at it...

PETER JENNINGS REPORTING: UFO's: LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE - THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 24 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) -- Each year there are thousands of reports of unidentified flying objects, but the U.S. government doesn't investgate any of them. This special program will seriously examine the unexplained phenomena around the world that so many people believe is proof of the existence of UFOs.

Almost 50 percent of Americans, according to recent polls, and millions of people elsewhere in the world believe that UFOs are real. For many it is a deeply held belief. For decades there have been sightings of UFOs by millions and millions of people. It is a mystery that only science can solve, and yet the phenomenon remains largely unexamined. Most of the reporting on this subject by the mainstream media holds those who claim to have seen UFOs up to ridicule. On Feb. 24, "Peter Jennings Reporting: UFOs — Seeing Is Believing" takes a fresh look at the UFO...
