Just a simple prayer request for family. Dad's (91) death was expected last year after a few years of dementia decline. Mom's (88) death was sort of a shock, even though her heart was weak. She was very clear minded and engaging. She told my sister last week she was dreading the anniversary of Dad's death. Like so many couples, they were very close. It's not uncommon for grief to reunite couples. Both were very strong Christians.

From dp0622 | 03/06/2020 8:24:57 AM PST I spoke to Dean. He sounds very good. His voice sounded stronger than last week by quite a bit. He’s hopping to be home early April, He needs time to get stronger before they can do the surgery on the area in the colon that was leaking. It’s healed but they don’t trust it to stay healed long term. So he’ll rest maybe 3 or 4 months at home and then get it done. Barring any new leaks, he is well on his way to full recovery. He thanks everyone so much for...

From dp0622 | 03/05/2020 9:23:13 PM PST new I will send an update to all on Farmer Dean after I talk to him in the next few days. I DID speak to him some days ago AFTER the prayer request thread and he’s going to be in the hospital for at least another month but he’s Definitely holding his own. Sepsis is the issue and he will be on antibiotics for at least another month. The hole in his colon has healed but will require surgery when he is strong enough as they think it will leak again with time...

This just in from dp0622... Farmer Dean is recovering in a hospital in Ohio. His temperature is back to normal from 106 degrees!! That’s Not a misprint. He only lost 10 pounds throughout the whole ordeal and the hole that was leaking in his colon has closed but he will STILL need surgery to completely rectify the problem. God is Great and this guy’s a walking miracle. 4 or 5 septic infections, 3 bouts of pneumonia, in a coma several times, abscesses and other issues over the past 3 years and he keeps on trucking. This is GREAT news! Everyone...

Dear Freepers, I am asking for prayers for my dear Dad William who is dying of colon cancer. He lost his wife (and our Mom) Toni in April 2019 after 60 years of marriage. He served as an MP in Germany during the Korean War era. My brothers and I are going to miss him terribly. Thank you.

I want to wish everyone a very blessed Thanksgiving. Despite all the differences of the past several years, our country is still the most blessed country on earth. We will come through this time of turmoil, most because of the blessings of which God has bestowed upon us.

In stunning moment, Botham Jean's brother embraces Amber Guyger after her sentencing for his brother's murder. "I don't even want you to go to jail. I want the best for you, because I know that's exactly what Botham would want."

From a Freepmail from dp0622... "Farmer Dean is in the hospital again with an obstruction... Can you post a thread asking for prayers. that couple can’t get a break. and the hospitals are always 500000 miles away from home and they still SUCK. i get the feelings it’s just he and his wife because he wanted me to mention this on FR even though i was going to do it anyway. he sounded afraid, which is unusual for him."

Hello Freepers Can you please do me a favor and say a prayer for me? For the last ten years or so, I was blessed with a stable job albeit not very well paid. Almost two years ago, I had much better opportunity with a startup which increased my pay substantially. I somewhat got a late start in life. With this new job, I was able to consider starting a family. I have someone who wants to have a baby with me but this may have to be put on hold. You know, startups may pay more but it can...

When the Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy for the Devil” comes on the pre-show soundtrack, it’s a tipoff that C.S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters is going to be a diabolically delightful evening of theater and infernally amusing. The script is deftly adapted for the stage by Max McLean (who also directs) and Jeffrey Fiske from Lewis’ popular epistolary novel wherein the moral universe is turned upside down: God is “The Enemy” and the Devil-in-chief is “Our Father.” The Screwtape Letters is obliquely a story about the vicissitudes of faith and the joke is that it’s set in Hell, where Screwtape is a...

KANSAS CITY, Missouri, November 1, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer has made a deep impression with audiences nationwide, and now the true story of America’s most infamous abortionist has inspired yet another testimonial about the film converting a viewer on abortion.... On Wednesday, The Federalist published an op-ed in which Missouri attorney Adam Mill explains how Gosnell impacted him, someone who “avoided the abortion issue because I lacked the moral courage to really think about it and form my own opinion.”

I was wrong about Trump. I was solidly against him when he was running - knowing that he spent most of his life as a Democrat. I was at the point that I would have almost rather have had a Democrat in office that claimed to be a Democrat than another RINO claiming to be a Republican while ruining the country (not enough to vote for Hillary, or not vote btw). Trump has happily proved me wrong and I am now solidly behind him and happier than I have been, ever, with my president. Hopefully this SC pick proves to...

My Pastor's wife's niece and nephew were killed today by a out of control car, which ran up a curb and hit them in a yard. I cannot imagine) greater grief than losing two kids in one incident. I am generally pretty strong in the Spirit, but I am having a definite strain here...bad things happening to good people. PRAYERS PLEASE for those two poor kids, the family, my pastor and his wife, and myself. Thanks.

Farmer Dean, who had been in the hospital for cancer surgery and acquired a sepsis infection, had been moved from the hospital to long term care and was looking forward to going home. He has now been returned to the hospital in undisclosed condition.

Wednesday was my Mom’s 92 birthday. The past two weeks she has been very sick. I took her to the hospital on the 5th, as she didn’t feel well. They said that there was really nothing they could do for her. She was transferred to the Hospice House on Wednesday. Things would get better than worse. I sat with her all night for her birthday. At 7am Thursday she took her last breath. I want to thank everyone here for their support. Ed
