CHICAGO — Crash-and-grab burglars targeted the Prada store in downtown Chicago on Saturday morning. It’s the second such burglary in two weeks along that pricey stretch of Oak Street, just off the Mag Mile. Just after 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, four or five people compromised a large display window at the Prada boutique, 30 East Oak. Based on the extent of the damage and the strength of the security glass, they may have used a vehicle to ram their way in.

Nasa astronauts will be flying in style, with luxury fashion designer Prada helping design space suits for the 2025 Moon mission. The Italian fashion house will work to design the suits alongside another private company, Axiom Space. In a press release, Axiom said Prada would bring expertise with materials and manufacturing to the project. One astronaut told the BBC he thought Prada was up to the challenge due to their design experience. That experience has been built not only on the catwalks of Milan but also through Prada's involvement in the America's Cup sailing competition. "Prada has considerable experience with...

Transgender TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney was seen out-and-about in Los Angeles in a rare public appearance as she has kept a low profile since her disastrous advertising campaign with Bud Light. The 26-year-old was seen in photographs obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com leaving her apartment in a white crop top with white jeans, sunglasses and a face mask on Saturday, as she picked up her $800 Prada bikini top and a pink dress from a local dry cleaners. She later headed to a Beverly Hills salon where she underwent laser hair removal before admittedly speeding away. Mulvaney's public outing comes after...

Dear fashion people: Please stop trying to make “blackface” happen. First it was Prada. Then Gucci. Now, pop star Katy Perry (who, yes, is apparently a fashion designer) is in hot water for selling shoes that evoke — intentionally or not — the racist imagery. The styles in question — a pair of mules and some high-heeled sandals — feature eyes and big red lips, resembling minstrel makeup. TMZ reports that retailers Dillards and Walmart will pull the offending styles, though not the whole line, from their stores after facing social media backlash...

First Lady Melania Trump glowed in a vibrant pop-of-color for her visit with children of military families at a “Toys for Tots” event at the Joint Base Acostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday. Melania chose an emerald green, wool Prada coat for her visit with the military kids, pairing the vivid top with khaki-toned J Brand jeans and matching nearly-knee-high leather boots. The Prada coat is made in Italy and features six oversized buttons and a giant, waist-cinching belt buckle, a favorite silhouette of Melania’s.

In fairness, it’s a money clip with a logo, but everyone knows money clips are for rich people (people who deal exclusively in notes) so the irony is still there. The Prada paperclip has a ring to it, but it’s not the first of its kind. Fashion has long found beauty, humour and profit in designing familiar objects in an unfamiliar way. We saw Jil Sander’s £185 coated-paper “Vasari” bag in 2012 which was just that – an expensive paper bag, cannily designed with coated paper so it didn’t go sodden in the rain. Then there were the £45 leather...

An important archeological find of ancient Roman ruins has been made at the Medici Fortress of Arezzo in central Italy. During work for the reorganization of the historic building, evidence of an ancient Roman structure dating from the early decades of the first century AD were brought to light - probably a residence, or domus... The Roman find is of enormous value for understanding the history of the city, Pessina said, and complements other discoveries such as the Church of San Donato in Cremona, dating back to the year 1000, found a few metres from the Roman structure, now being...

TOKYO, - A senior retail manager for Prada Japan alleges in a lawsuit she was ordered to eliminate employees who didn't have the "Prada look." Rina Bovrisse said Prada Japan Chief Executive Officer Davide Sesia informed her she had to eliminate 15 managerial staff workers he deemed "old, fat, ugly, disgusting or not having the Prada look," The Daily Telegraph (Britain) said Friday. Bovrisse alleges in her discrimination and harassment suit against the Italian fashion label that Sesia also asked her to lose some weight and change her hairstyle. VATICAN CITY - The devil may wear Prada -- but the pope does not. According to the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, the bright red loafers that Pope Benedict XVI wears are not designed by the Milanese fashion house, as has long been rumored. "Obviously the attribution was false," the Vatican newspaper said in its Thursday's editions. "Such rumors are inconsistent with the simple and somber man who, on the day of his election to the papacy, showed to the faithful gathered in St. Peter's Square and to the whole world the sleeves of a modest black sweater," it said. Fashion...

June 10, 2003, 9:30 a.m.The Devil & the Gray LadyAll about vogue. By Mark Goldblatt SEE NOTE Truman Capote, who had a stake in saying so, once famously declared, "All literature is gossip." He was wrong, of course, but it's the kind of declaration that bamboozles literary types by its very implausibility; something so obviously false must be profound, so it gets repeated at cocktail parties and invoked in book reviews (like this one) until it becomes an inside-out cliché, a false truism, a knowing nod towards nothing whatsoever. Still, an interesting question emerges if you reverse Capote's...

Best and Worst of the Debate Best Kerry Line of the Debate: "From the looks of the people in this audience, the only ones in this room who will be affected by the president's tax cut for the rich will be myself, the president, and Charles Gibson." Kerry's inner snob made an appearance last night at the debate. How could he tell the annual income of the audience? I guess no one was wearing Prada. One must have a trained eye for spotting designer clothes. Maybe there were no five hundred dollar haircuts like the one Kerry sports. There might...
